Colts' Mo Alie-Cox: Questionable, expected to play
Rotowire
Alie-Cox (hip) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Broncos, but coach Shane Steichen said Alie-Cox will play, Nate Atkins of The Indianapolis Star reports.
Alie-Cox wasn't listed on the injury report Wednesday or Thursday before logging a DNP on Friday. It sounds like he's avoided a serious injury, and the Colts expect him to be available versus Denver. The Colts like to use multiple tight ends, rendering none of them useful in fantasy outside of the deepest of formats. Alie-Cox has 11 catches for 132 yards and one touchdown on 18 targets across 13 games this season.

Colts' Mo Alie-Cox: Sees season high in snaps
Rotowire
Alie-Cox made two catches on two targets for 15 yards in the Colts' 25-24 win over the Patriots on Sunday.
Alie-Cox saw a season-best 34 snaps on offense and turned in his fourth multi-catch game of the season in the process. Although he's listed as No. 1 on the team's tight-end depth chart, Indianapolis' use of all four players at the position tends to spread out the snaps and targets. Alie-Cox and the Colts now head into a Week 14 bye and will return to action in Week 15 against the Broncos.

Colts' Mo Alie-Cox: Not targeted in Week 12
Rotowire
Alie-Cox failed to record a single target in Sunday's 24-6 loss to the Lions.
Alie-Cox played 42 percent of the Colts' offensive snaps, but the 31-year-old was not targeted by quarterback Anthony Richardson. The veteran tight end has now been held without a catch in eight of 12 games this season, providing little to no fantasy utility most weeks. Alie-Cox remains off the fantasy radar as the Colts visit the Patriots in Week 13.

Colts' Mo Alie-Cox: No receptions in win
Rotowire
Alie-Cox did not have a reception and just one target in Sunday's win over Miami.
Alie-Cox had some relevance in the passing game the past two weeks with Joe Flacco at quarterback (six receptions for 78 yards and a touchdown) but was back to mostly serving as a blocking tight end with Anthony Richardson as the starter. Alie-Cox has just one reception in games started by Richardson.

Colts' Mo Alie-Cox: Not involved in Week 4
Rotowire
Alie-Cox did not record a single target in Sunday's 27-24 win over the Steelers.
Alie-Cox played 31 of the Colts' 66 offensive snaps Sunday, ahead of fellow tight ends Drew Ogletree (24) and Kylen Granson (20). Despite playing the most snaps, Alie-Cox continued to operate primarily as a blocker and failed to record a catch for the third time through four games. The 31-year-old veteran should not be trusted for fantasy purposes heading into a Week 5 matchup against the Jaguars.

Colts' Mo Alie-Cox: Minimal role on offense
Rotowire
Alie-Cox did not have a reception and was targeted just once in Sunday's loss to Houston.
Alie-Cox got the start at tight end, but he's almost exclusively a blocking tight end these days as he went out on just seven routes among his 18 snaps on offense. Kylen Granson played more snaps (25) but also had just one target. With the Colts using a more vertical passing attack than last season, none of the Colts' tight ends may get significant targets.

Colts' Mo Alie-Cox: Listed as starter on initial depth chart
Rotowire
Alie-Cox is listed as one of two starting tight ends on Indianapolis' first unofficial depth chart of the preseason, Amanda Foster of the Colts' official site reports.
Kylen Granson is listed as a starter at tight end along with Alie-Cox, who would function primarily as a blocker if the two were to share the field together. Though the 6-foot-5, 267-pound Alie-Cox still presents a big target in the red zone, his involvement in the passing game has faded over the past two seasons. He had just 22 targets in 17 games in 2023, finishing with 13 receptions for 161 yards and three touchdowns.

Colts' Mo Alie-Cox: Could be done in Indy
Rotowire
Alie-Cox is scheduled for $5.9 million in non-guaranteed compensation for 2024, making him a candidate to be released this offseason, James Boyd of The Athletic reports.
He's entering the final year of his contract and will turn 31 in September. Alie-Cox has long been the Colts' best blocking tight end and has 14 touchdowns among his 102 career receptions, so it won't be surprising if he ends up sticking around, possibly via a contract extension or renegotiated contract. Kylen Granson, Will Mallory, Jelani Woods and Andrew Ogletree are all more likely to operate as the team's top receiving threat at tight end in 2024, though it's been a long time since the Colts had a true No. 1 option rather than taking a committee approach to the position.

Colts' Mo Alie-Cox: Finds end zone thrice in 2023
Rotowire
Alie-Cox secured 13 of 22 targets for 161 yards and three touchdowns across 17 regular-season games with the Colts in 2023.
Alie-Cox handled his usual depth role with Indianapolis in 2023, as has been usual throughout his six-year NFL career. His yardage total for this past season was the lowest since 2019, but Alie-Cox's occasional red-zone deployment remained steady. The Colts do have a potential 'out' from Alie-Cox's contract this offseason with zero dead cap for the team, so it seems all but guaranteed that the big-bodied tight end will need to either restructure his deal or be cut.

Alie-Cox broke wide open off a run fake on fourth down for a key first down late in the game. It was a rare showing in the passing game for Alie-Cox, who has just three receptions in his last six games. It's not likely to start a trend, as he's almost exclusively become a blocking tight end.

Colts' Mo Alie-Cox: Ready for Sunday
Rotowire
Alie-Cox (concussion) was cleared of his injury designation Saturday and will be available Sunday against the Jaguars.
Alie-Cox won't end up missing any time after clearing the five-step concussion protocol following his exit from last Sunday's win over the Titans with the brain injury. He's seen his playing time slip in 2023 with the likes of Kylen Granson and Drew Ogletree taking on expanded roles in the Colts' tight-end rotation, but the big-bodied Alie-Cox should still be a candidate for looks in the red zone.

Colts' Mo Alie-Cox: Limited Thursday
Rotowire
Alie-Cox (concussion) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice.
Alie-Cox suffered a concussion during the Colts' Week 5 win over the Titans, and he went from no participation in Wednesday's practice to limited work Thursday. The 30-year-old tight end seems to be trending in the right direction to play in this coming Sunday against Jacksonville, but he'll still have to clear the league's five-step protocol before he's cleared to take the field.

Colts' Mo Alie-Cox: Minimal role in passing attack
Rotowire
Alie-Cox caught one of two targets for two yards during Monday's 20-3 defeat versus the Chargers.
Alie-Cox saw 10 fewer snaps than Jelani Woods, and the former failed to make an impact in the passing game again. Woods, a rookie third-round pick, has caught 14 of 19 targets for 205 yards over his past four games and appears to have surpassed Alie-Cox on the depth chart. Alie-Cox's playing time figures to drop even more if Kylen Granson (ankle) returns to action before the end of the campaign.
