Player Outlook
The same concerns we had for Swift in Detroit combined with new concerns he'll have with the Eagles create a polarizing running back who's likely to best serve as a mid-round high-end No. 3 option. Availability has been an issue for Swift, something the Eagles could manage by using him as a passing-downs option (which offensive coordinator Brian Johnson hinted at in May). Swift has been outstanding as a pass-catcher, but the Eagles ranked dead last in RB target share last year (12.1%). That number figures to increase with Swift's arrival, but not explode, and there's clearly a touch-crunch among all of Philly's runners due to Jalen Hurts hogging carries, especially near the goal line. Swift is a PPR-preferred rusher who could deliver a dozen points per game (closer to 9 non-PPR points per game). Even with his injury issues, taking him as soon as Round 7 feels safe.

  • Eagles' D'Andre Swift: Stymied in Week 14 loss

Swift rushed 11 times for 39 yards in the Eagles' 33-13 loss to the Cowboys on Sunday night. The game script began to turn away from the Eagles' ground game fairly early, as the Cowboys owned a 10-0 lead after one quarter and a 24-6 advantage by halftime. That helped lead to one of Swift's lower rush-attempt totals of the season, and despite the sizable deficit Philadelphia operated with most of the game, Swift was also shut out of the passing game altogether for the first time in his Eagles tenure, making it a disappointing all-around night. The fourth-year pro will aim to bounce back in a Week 15 road matchup against the Seahawks on Monday night, Dec. 18.

  • Eagles' D'Andre Swift: RBs to Sit

Swift will hopefully be healthy for this game after getting banged up late in Week 13 against San Francisco. But if he plays, I would only use Swift as a flex option at best in the majority of leagues. He's been held to 9.4 PPR points or less in three of his past four games, including his first meeting with the Cowboys in Week 9 when he had 18 carries for 43 yards and two catches for 31 yards on two targets. Touchdowns are tough for Swift (he has four rushing on the season) because of Jalen Hurts and the tush push, and he's been held to two catches or less in four of his past five games. The Cowboys have been tough on running backs all season and are No. 3 in fewest Fantasy points allowed to the position, and Swift could struggle once again in Week 14.

  • Eagles' D'Andre Swift: Avoids injury report

Swift (undisclosed) wasn't listed on the Eagles' first Week 14 injury report Wednesday. Swift was on the receiving end of a big hit at the tail end of this past Sunday's loss to the 49ers, visiting the sideline tent for a spell before going to the locker room. The reason for his departure wasn't divulged, but the fact that he didn't have any restrictions at Wednesday's walk-through session suggests he's good to go for this Sunday's game against the Cowboys. Swift is coming off his worst performance of the season as the Eagles' No. 1 back, having combined for just 20 yards from scrimmage on eight touches Week 13.

  • Eagles' D'Andre Swift: Injured late in lopsided loss

Swift (undisclosed) went to the locker room in the final minutes of Sunday's 42-19 loss to the 49ers, Dave Zangaro of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports. Swift went into the blue medical tent after taking a big hit. Shortly afterward, he made his way to the locker room. Clarification wasn't immediately provided regarding the nature of Swift's injury, which he suffered late in the fourth quarter. Swift finished the loss with just six carries for 13 yards and two catches (on six targets) for seven yards.

  • Eagles' D'Andre Swift: Logs full practice Thursday

Swift (ankle) practiced fully Thursday. Swift kicked off Week 13 prep with a limited listing on Wednesday's estimated practice report due to an ankle injury. Unlike last week, though, he got back to all activity one day earlier (Thursday versus Friday), putting himself in a position to continue to lead the Eagles backfield this weekend. Swift is facing a tough task Sunday against a 49ers defense that has allowed the second-fewest rushing yards (658) and eighth-least touchdowns (six) to opposing running backs in 11 games on the campaign.

  • Eagles' D'Andre Swift: Still tending to ankle injury

Swift (ankle) was listed as a limited participant on Wednesday's practice estimate. Like he was a week ago, Swift is kicking off Week 13 prep with a cap on his reps at Wednesday's walkthrough. If he follows the same on-field routine this week, he'll remain a limited participant Thursday before upgrading to full activity Friday and clearing up any concern about his status for Sunday's game versus the 49ers. Swift didn't seem worse for wear this past Sunday against the Bills, turning 15 touches into 84 yards from scrimmage while handling a 63 percent snap share.

  • Eagles' D'Andre Swift: Strong showing on ground Sunday

Swift carried the ball 14 times for 80 yards and caught his only target for four yards in Sunday's 37-34 overtime win over the Bills. Nearly half of Swift's production came on a 36-yard run in the second quarter that helped set up an A.J. Brown touchdown, but he also broke loose for a 16-yard gain in OT that set the stage for a game-winning TD scamper by Jalen Hurts. It was Swift's best performance on the ground since Week 3, but he's seen at least 15 touches in 10 straight games and has already set a new career high in rushing yards with 770 through 11 contests. He's just 29 scrimmage yards short of his second career season with 1,000 heading into a Week 13 tilt against the 49ers.

  • Eagles' D'Andre Swift: Stays limited Thursday

Swift (ankle) was listed as limited on Thursday's practice report. Swift continues to have a cap on his listed reps due to an ankle injury as the Eagles prepare for Sunday's contest against the Bills. As such, his listing, or lack thereof, on Friday's report could be telling for the state of Philadelphia's backfield for Week 12. If Swift ends up ceding RB reps this weekend, Kenneth Gainwell likely would be the primary beneficiary.

  • Eagles' D'Andre Swift: Dealing with ankle issue

Swift was a limited participant at Wednesday's walkthrough due to an ankle injury. Swift opened the season as the direct backup to Kenneth Gainwell, but when the latter got injured Week 1, the former took over the Eagles backfield and hasn't given up the lead role. Over the past nine contests, Swift has averaged 19.8 touches for 98.2 yards from scrimmage per game while scoring five touchdowns. Now with a health concern in tow, his status will need to be monitored to see if he may be in danger of being inhibited or even out Sunday against the Bills.

  • Eagles' D'Andre Swift: Tops 100 total yards in Week 11

Swift rushed 12 times for 76 yards and a touchdown while catching all three of his targets for 31 yards in Monday's 21-17 win over Kansas City. With Philadelphia's passing game stuck in first gear, Swift and the rushing attack led the way offensively, as all three of the Eagles' touchdowns came on the ground. He tied the game at 7-7 with a four-yard rushing touchdown in the first quarter, before helping set up Jalen Hurts' 10-yard rushing score in the third quarter with a 35-yard run earlier on the drive. After exceeding 100 yards from scrimmage for the fourth time this season, Swift should remain a key part of the game plan Week 12 against the Bills.

  • Eagles' D'Andre Swift: Bottled up by Dallas

Swift carried the ball 18 times for 43 yards and caught both his targets for 31 yards in Sunday's 28-23 win over the Cowboys. While his final yardage numbers were respectable, Swift was contained on the ground by the Dallas front seven and averaged a woeful 2.4 yards per carry. Meanwhile, Kenneth Gainwell scored on a 12-yard run in the first quarter, and even Rashaad Penny saw his first totes since Week 2 in the second half as the Eagles tried to get their running game going. Swift's 20 touches still dominated the backfield (Gainwell and Penny had six touches combined), but the former Lion hasn't reached 80 scrimmage yards in four straight games. Swift will get a bye next week to recharge before preparing for a Super Bowl rematch with Kansas City in Week 11.

  • Eagles' D'Andre Swift: Top DFS Play

With Raheem Mostert, Breece Hall, and Austin Ekeler all off the main slate, Swift ranks as my second-highest projected scorer at running back on FanDuel this week. The player projected to score more points is Alvin Kamara, who is priced $2,000 higher. Take the discount on Swift in cash games.

  • Eagles' D'Andre Swift: Grinds out touchdown in tough win

Swift rushed 16 times for 57 yards and a touchdown and secured two of three targets for seven yards in the Eagles' 38-31 win over the Commanders on Sunday. Swift had to work for every yard against a tough Commanders run defense, with his long gain on the day going for a modest nine yards. However, he was able to turn an ordinary fantasy day into an above-average one with a seven-yard touchdown run late in the fourth quarter off a fake "Brotherly Shove" play in which Jalen Hurts pitched to Swift after faking a sneak. The score snapped a three-game drought for the veteran back, who's also posted multiple catches in five consecutive contests heading into a Week 9 home showdown with the Cowboys.

  • Eagles' D'Andre Swift: Generates 75 yards on 18 touches

Swift had 15 carries for 62 yards and caught all three of his targets for 13 yards in Sunday's 31-17 win over Miami. Swift posted a more traditional running back stat line Sunday after seeing most of his fantasy production come as a receiver against the Jets in Week 6. The 24-year-old did have a touchdown opportunity vultured by backup Kenneth Gainwell (8-16-1) late in the contest that may have frustrated fantasy managers. Swift was able to earn back some of those potential points when he vultured two garbage-time carries from Gainwell on Philadelphia's ensuing drive, netting 19 additional yards despite the game being well in hand. Swift will continue serving his fruitful fantasy role as the lead back for a top offense when the Eagles face the Commanders next Sunday.

  • Eagles' D'Andre Swift: Scores receiving TD

Swift had 10 carries for 18 yards while adding eight receptions on 10 targets for 40 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 20-14 loss to the Jets. Swift was stymied by New York's beefy front on his team-high 10 carries Sunday, but his busy work as a receiver helped offset his shortcomings on the ground. It was the 24-year-old's third touchdown of the season and first via a reception through six games with his new club. Swift had just nine receptions (11 targets) in Philadelphia's first four games before rattling off 14 catches over the last two weeks. The recent influx in targets only boosts Swift's fantasy value heading into next week's game against Miami on Sunday Night Football.

  • Eagles' D'Andre Swift: Goes over 100 combined yards

Swift had 17 carries for 70 yards and six receptions on as many targets for 38 yards in Sunday's 23-14 win over the Rams. Swift teamed up with quarterback Jalen Hurts (15-71-1) for a methodical rushing performance that resulted in the Eagles nearly doubling the Rams' time of possession in the win. Kenneth Gainwell (7-17-0) was the only tailback other than Swift to receive a carry Sunday. Philadelphia's big offseason acquisition is averaging 18.8 carries and 107.8 rushing yards over the last four games following his Week 1 dud. Swift will look to continue his hot streak against the Jets next Sunday.

  • Eagles' D'Andre Swift: Gets into end zone in Sunday's win

Swift carried the ball 14 times for 56 yards and a touchdown and caught all four of his targets for 23 yards in Sunday's 34-31 overtime win over the Commanders. While he couldn't match the massive yardage totals he'd posted the prior two games, Swift made up for it by scoring his second TD of the season on a five-yard dash in the first quarter. The former Lion's 18 touches dwarfed the six Kenneth Gainwell saw, a promising trend for Swift heading into a Week 5 clash with the Rams.

  • Eagles' D'Andre Swift: Explodes for career-best effort

Swift rushed 28 times for 175 yards and a touchdown and brought in all three targets for six yards in the Eagles' 34-28 win over the Vikings on Thursday night. Playing the first game of his professional career in his hometown of Philadelphia, Swift took full advantage of the opportunity by authoring a career-best rushing performance. The offseason arrival, who'd logged just 19 snaps in his Eagles debut in Week 1 against the Patriots, exceeded 20 carries for only the second time in his career and established a new personal best in rushing yards. Swift's stellar effort came in part due to Kenneth Gainwell's absence due to a rib injury and Boston Scott's (concussion) early exit, but after a night of noteworthy plays that included a 43-yard run and a two-yard touchdown rush with 4:13 remaining that essentially sealed the game, it will be difficult to deny Swift leadership of the ground game in a tough Week 3 road matchup against the Buccaneers on Monday night, Sept. 25.

  • Eagles' D'Andre Swift: Works behind Gainwell in opener

Swift logged 19 of a possible 66 snaps on offense in Sunday's 25-20 win over the Patriots, gaining three yards on one carry and recording one catch on two targets for zero yards. With Rashaad Penny being made a healthy scratch in Week 1, Kenneth Gainwell started at running back for Philadelphia and parlayed his 41 snaps into 14 carries for 54 yards and four catches for 20 yards, while both Swift and Boston Scott (eight snaps) saw minimal volume. Looking ahead to this Thursday's contest against the Vikings, Swift profiles as a speculative fantasy lineup option, and that will be the case until the Eagles get the former Lion more involved in the offense. That could happen right away however, as after Sunday's tilt, coach Nick Sirianni noted that he didn't "ever want to come out of a game where D'Andre Swift has only two touches." With that in mind, Swift figures to see more opportunities in Week 2, but for now at least he's behind Gainwell in the team's RB pecking order.

  • Eagles' D'Andre Swift: Poised for key Week 1 role

With Rashaad Penny expected to be a healthy scratch Sunday against the Patriots, Swift appears poised to lead the Eagles' Week 1 backfield, with Kenneth Gainwell and Boston Scott also in the mix, Ralph Vacchiano of Fox Sports reports. The Eagles' posted depth chart doesn't indicate a single starter at running back, but Swift seems like a good bet to see his share of touches versus New England, with Gainwell and Scott mixing in. In any case, once the dust clears, the team's Week 1 snaps counts figure to be telling with regard to how the Eagles plan to allocate their RB touches this coming season.
