Player Outlook
There were some Fantasy managers who thought the addition of Tyreek Hill would crush Waddle. Thankfully, that was far from reality, and Waddle had a standout sophomore campaign when he averaged 15.2 PPR points (he was at 15.3 PPR points as a rookie in 2021). Now entering Year 3, it's clear Waddle should be considered among the best Fantasy receivers, and he's worth drafting as early as late Round 2 in all leagues. If there is a concern for Waddle it's the health of Tua Tagovailoa because Waddle's numbers suffered when Tagovailoa was out in 2022, but hopefully the addition of Mike White can help Waddle if pressed into action. As productive as Waddle has been through his first two seasons, this could be his best year yet, and he's someone to target on Draft Day in all formats.

  • Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: Modest yardage in big win

Waddle brought in five of eight targets for 52 yards in the Dolphins' 45-15 win over the Commanders on Sunday. Waddle tied with Tyreek Hill for the team lead in receptions while setting the pace in targets, but the disparity between the two receivers' final production was stark considering Hill's gaudy 157-yardage tally. Waddle's middling day was particularly disappointing considering his 114-yard day in Week 12 against the Jets, and outside of his two 100-yard efforts, he's been limited to 63 yards or fewer in seven of his last nine contests. Waddle's fortunes could take a turn for the better in a Week 14 home matchup against the vulnerable Titans on Monday night, Dec. 11.

  • Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: Tops 100 yards in Week 12 win

Waddle caught all eight of his targets for 114 yards in Friday's 34-13 win over the Jets. Waddle shrugged off a tough matchup with a Jets secondary that came in allowing the fewest fantasy points in the league to wide receivers, as he set a season high in catches while coming seven yards short of his season high. This was only Waddle's second 100-yard performance of 2023 after he posted six such games last season. Waddle looks healthy after playing through injuries for much of the season, and he'll have a golden opportunity to build on his momentum in Week 13 against Washington's vulnerable secondary.

  • Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: WRs to Sit

Waddle has struggled in consecutive games heading into Week 12 at the Jets, and I would only start him in three-receiver leagues in this matchup. In his past two outings against the Chiefs and Raiders, Waddle has combined for seven catches for 97 yards and no touchdowns on 14 targets. He only has one touchdown in his past four games, and the Jets have allowed just two touchdowns to receivers all season. Tyreek Hill remains a must-start Fantasy option in all leagues, but I'm concerned about Waddle in this matchup.

  • Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: Contained to four catches Sunday

Waddle secured four of eight targets for 55 yards in the Dolphins' 20-13 in over the Raiders on Sunday. Waddle was a distant second to Tyreek Hill in receptions, receiving yards and targets on the afternoon, but he still averaged a solid 13.8 yards per grab. The third-year speedster flashed with a season-high 121-yard performance in Week 9, but he's combined for just 97 receiving yards on 14 targets over the subsequent pair of contests. Waddle will look to bump his production back up in a Week 12 Black Friday road divisional matchup against a stingy Jets secondary.

  • Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: Feeling good after bye

Waddle (knee) said Monday that Miami's bye week allowed him time to rejuvenate his body, Daniel Oyefusi of the Miami Herald reports. Waddle suited up for all but one of Miami's first nine games of the season despite picking up a number of injuries, but now that's he's benefited from a bye to get healthy, it doesn't look like there are real concerns about his status for Week 11 against the Raiders. The standout receiver picked up a knee injury during the Dolphins' international loss to the Chiefs in Week 9, but that appears to have been mostly soreness. It's possible Waddle is able to avoid being listed on Miami's first injury report of the week entirely come Wednesday.

  • Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: Returns to Sunday's game

Waddle checked back into Sunday's game against the Chiefs in Frankfurt, Germany after exiting earlier in the first quarter with a left knee injury, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports. Waddle had been deemed questionable to return to the contest after he left the game following the Dolphins' second play from scrimmage when his knee appeared to get rolled up on during a Raheem Mostert rush attempt. The third-year wideout missed the rest of the Dolphins' opening possession, but after being evaluated on the sideline in the medical tent, he was cleared to check back into the game for the second play of the Dolphins' second offensive drive.

  • Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: Team-high yardage total in win

Waddle secured seven of 12 targets for 121 yards and a touchdown in the Dolphins' 31-17 win over the Patriots on Sunday. Waddle led the Dolphins in receiving yards on the afternoon, with the exclamation point coming via a 31-yard scoring grab in the fourth quarter, his third score of the season. All of Waddle's end-zone trips this season have come within the last four contests, and Sunday's performance also qualified as his first 100-yard tally of the campaign. Waddle figures to be busy once again during the Dolphins' Week 9 showdown against the powerful Chiefs offense in Germany.

  • Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: Limited again in practice

Waddle (back) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports. Waddle has had his reps capped in both of the Dolphins' first two Week 8 practices, but if he's able to upgrade to full activity Friday, he should head into Sunday's game against the Patriots without an injury designation. Since missing the Dolphins' Week 3 win over Denver while recovering from a concussion, Waddle has suited up in each of Miami's last four games and is averaging 5.5 catches for 48.8 yards on 7.5 targets during that stretch.

  • Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: Finishes game after injury scare

Waddle exited Sunday's 31-17 loss to the Eagles in the second quarter with an apparent back injury. He was able to return after halftime, finishing with six receptions on as many targets for 63 yards. Waddle was seen favoring his back on the sidelines in the second quarter before being taken to the locker room for further treatment. It appears that the Dolphins' No. 2 wideout avoided serious injury, as he was able to return in the second half and tack on four more receptions to his final total. Waddle alleviated any concerns regarding his brief exit Sunday by telling reporters, "I feel good. Solid," following the loss to Philadelphia, Joe Schad of the Palm Beach Post reports. Taking him at his word, expect Waddle to line up with the rest of Miami's starters against the Patriots next Sunday.

  • Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: Returns to game

Waddle (back) has returned to Sunday's matchup with the Eagles, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports. Waddle is back out on the field with Miami after exiting the game in the second quarter with a back injury. The wide receiver has three catches for 38 yards to this point in the contest.

  • Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: Exits with injury

Waddle (back) is questionable to return to Sunday night's matchup with the Eagles. Waddle went down with a back injury in the second quarter, and it's unclear if the wide receiver will return. He reeled in two catches for 24 yards before leaving the game. In his absence, Braxton Berrios and Cedrick Wilson will be amongst those that see an increase in workload in Miami's offense.

  • Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: Scores again

Waddle recorded seven receptions on nine targets for 51 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 42-21 win over the Panthers. Waddle saw strong volume for the second consecutive week -- he had only one fewer target than Tyreek Hill -- and now has 19 opportunities across his last two games. Given the context of the Miami offense, he was surprisingly inefficient with the looks, though he did manage to find the end zone from four yards away, resulting in his second consecutive matchup with a score. Heading into a Week 7 contest against the Eagles, Waddle has clearly served as the secondary option behind Hill in the offense and has yet to top 86 yards in a game this season.

  • Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: Four catches in return to action

Waddle brought in four of five targets for 46 yards in the Dolphins' 48-20 loss to the Bills on Sunday. Making his return after a Week 3 absence due to a concussion, Waddle was relatively quiet but still finished as the runner-up or tied for second on the team in receptions, receiving yards and targets. The third-year wideout's day was serviceable, especially in the context of an afternoon during which Tua Tagovailoa spread the ball around to eight different pass catchers. Waddle should have a good chance of improving on Sunday's modest numbers in a Week 5 home battle versus the Giants.

  • Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: Exits concussion protocol

Waddle cleared the NFL's concussion protocol Thursday, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports. He was listed as a full practice participant Wednesday, and the subsequent confirmation that he's cleared the NFL's five-step concussion protocol paves the way for the wideout to play Sunday against the Bills following a one-game absence. Waddle, who has caught eight of his 11 targets for 164 yards in two games thus far, is slated to reprise his starting role in Miami's high-powered offense this weekend alongside fellow wideout Tyreek Hill.

  • Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: In line to practice fully

Waddle (concussion) will be a full practice participant Wednesday, Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com reports. Louis-Jacques adds that depending on how Wednesday's session goes, Waddle could clear the NFL's five-step concussion protocol afterward. With that in mind, Waddle -- who was inactive for the Dolphins' 70-20 win over the Broncos in Week 3 -- appears to be trending in the right direction as Sunday's game against the Bills approaches.

  • Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: Still in concussion protocol

Waddle remains in concussion protocol Monday, Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com reports. Coach Mike McDaniel sounded optimistic about Waddle's progress Monday, but the wide receiver's status is unchanged after he sat out Sunday's historic 70-20 win over the Broncos. Miami proved it can get by just fine without him, but the Dolphins still would welcome Waddle back with open arms for the team's pivotal clash with the AFC East rival Bills on Sunday. In order to play, Waddle first needs to clear the NFL's five-step concussion protocol.

  • Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: Out Sunday, but progressing

Waddle (concussion) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's game against the Broncos, but he's experienced no setbacks in his recovery from the brain injury and is said to be progressing well, Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network reports. Waddle entered the concussion protocol after taking a hit to the head from Patriots linebacker Marte Mapu in the fourth quarter of last Sunday's win. He made enough progress through the five-step protocol to practice in a limited fashion Friday, and though he was initially listed as questionable for the Week 3 matchup, the Dolphins downgraded him to out Saturday. Wolfe's report suggests that Waddle's downgrade in status likely wasn't the result of the receiver having his concussion symptoms resurface; instead, he may just need more time to gain clearance from an independent neurologist. Though recovery timelines for concussions can often be volatile, at this stage, Waddle seems to have a good chance at being ready to suit up for the Dolphins in their Week 4 matchup with the Bills next Sunday. Depth wideouts Braxton Berrios and River Cracraft are expected to step into expanded roles on offense behind No. 1 receiver Tyreek Hill this weekend against the Broncos while Waddle is sidelined.

  • Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: Still in protocol, will practice

Coach Mike McDaniel said Friday that Waddle remains in the concussion protocol but will practice in some capacity, Joe Schad of The Palm Beach Post reports. Waddle is making tangible progress through the NFL's five-step concussion protocol, but he will need to attain full clearance in order to suit up for Sunday's contest against the Broncos. Based on his return to practice Friday, though, he at least has a chance to be back on the field Week 3. If Waddle can't go this weekend, Braxton Berrios, River Cracraft and Erik Ezukanma will see added opportunities behind Tyreek Hill.

  • Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: Ruled out with concussion

Waddle (concussion) was downgraded to out late in Sunday's 24-17 win over the Patriots after being evaluated for a concussion. Waddle headed to the locker room after undergoing initial tests in the blue medical tent following an illegal helmet-to-helmet hit. He will need to clear the NFL's five-step concussion protocol in order to play in Week 3 against the Broncos. Waddle caught four of six targets for 86 yards and rushed once for minus-2 yards in the win over New England.

  • Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: Takes hit to head in New England

Waddle is being evaluated for a concussion Sunday in New England. Waddle was taken into the blue medical tent in the fourth quarter of Sunday's game against the Patriots after taking a hit to the head from Marte Mapu, Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com reports. Mapu was flagged for unnecessary roughness on the helmet-to-helmet hit. Waddle will need to clear the NFL's concussion protocol before he can return to action. The 24-year-old wide receiver had four catches for 86 yards on six targets and one rushing attempt for minus-2 yards prior to getting hurt.
