Player Outlook
A seventh-round pick in April, Green will compete for a roster spot this summer. The North Carolina wideout is a deep threat (19.0 yards per catch over five seasons) with pretty good size at nearly 6-foot-2 and 199 pounds. If he catches on, Green might be able to find some playing time as a perimeter receiver once the team moves on from some older wideouts. No one's taking Green in redraft leagues, but he's worth a final-round flier in rookie-only drafts.

  • Lions' Antoine Green: Active against Vikings

Green did not catch a pass during Sunday's 30-20 win over the Vikings. Green was active for the first time since Week 10 but did not get any work in the passing game. Even if Jameson Williams (ankle) and/or Kalif Raymond (knee) miss time in the playoffs, Green is highly unlikely to make much of a dent in the box score.

  • Lions' Antoine Green: Snap share spikes

Green was targeted once but did not catch a pass during Sunday's 38-6 loss to Baltimore. With Marvin Jones (personal) being ruled out before Kalif Raymond (hamstring) went down with an in-game injury, Green more than doubled his previous career high in offensive snaps -- seeing just as many as Jameson Williams -- while remaining a key figure on special teams. Should Jones and Raymond continue to miss time, Green could continue to take on a heightened role in the offense.

  • Lions' Antoine Green: Playing time rising

Green was not targeted with a pass during Thursday's 34-20 win over Green Bay. While Green was not targeted with a pass, he has seen his offensive playing time increase in three consecutive weeks while 33-year-old veteran Marvin Jones has seen his role decline. However, Green has yet to see a target since Week 2, and he will need to log more than 21 percent of the offensive snaps he saw Thursday to garner fantasy relevance.

  • Lions' Antoine Green: Being evaluated

Green is being evaluated for a concussion during Sunday's game against the Seahawks. Green was able to make his first career catch for a two-yard gain earlier in the contest, but the rookie receiver will now be sidelined. If he did suffer a concussion, he will have to pass the league's five-step protocols to gain clearance to play Week 3 against the Falcons.

  • Lions' Antoine Green: No snaps in season opener

Green did not log a snap during Thursday's 21-20 win over Kansas City. Green secured the No. 5 spot on the depth chart coming out of the preseason, but it does not seem as if there is a role for him on offense or special teams despite the six-game suspension of Jameson Williams. However, it is possible that could change if the struggles of 33-year-old Marvin Jones, who logged over half of the offensive snaps, persist in the coming weeks.

  • Lions' Antoine Green: Goes for 97 yards, TD

Green caught three of four targets for 97 yards and a touchdown in Friday's 26-17 preseason win over Carolina. The rookie seventh-round pick made his case for a roster spot at the last second, catching a 70-yard TD in the second quarter while working with Teddy Bridgewater and the second-string offense. Green also got some snaps with the third unit after halftime and finished the 2023 preseason with seven catches for 151 yards and a TD on eight targets (playing all three games). That'll probably be enough to get him a spot on the Week 1 roster, especially with fellow deep threat Jameson Williams (hamstring) set to go on the suspended list early next week.

  • Lions' Antoine Green: Joins Detroit WR corps

The Lions selected Green in the seventh round of the NFL Draft, 219th overall. A multi-sport athlete in high school, Green emerged as a valuable deep threat in his final two seasons at North Carolina, averaging over 19 yards per reception. Expect the 23-year-old to compete as an outside receiver for the Lions, who released Quintez Cephus earlier last week.
