  • Giants' Joshua Ezeudu: Ready to go for Week 9

Ezeudu (knee) does not carry an injury designation into Sunday's matchup with the Commanders, Patricia Traina of SI.com reports.

Ezeudu had his knee drained earlier in the week and was originally considered unlikely to play in Week 9, but he now appears to be ready to go. He'll operate as the top reserve option behind Chris Hubbard at left tackle against Washington.

  • Giants' Joshua Ezeudu: Won't practice Wednesday

Head coach Brian Daboll told reporters that Ezeudu had his knee drained and won't practice Wednesday, Paul Schwartz of the New York Post reports.

Schwartz also noted that Daboll didn't sound optimistic regarding Ezeudu's availability in Week 9's matchup against the Commanders. Regardless, the third-year tackle from North Carolina will likely need to upgrade to at least limited participation Thursday or Friday in order to suit up Sunday.

  • Giants' Joshua Ezeudu: Practicing at left tackle

Ezeudu took practice reps at left tackle during OTAs on Monday, Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reports.

Ezeudu struggled at left tackle last season when he filled in for an injured Andrew Thomas, but coach Brian Daboll wants to keep a contingency plan in place in case the latter gets hurt again. If he's on the first unit this season, Ezeudu projects to most likely fill a starting role at guard.

  • Giants' Joshua Ezeudu: Season may be over

Coach Brian Daboll said Friday it "doesn't look good" when asked about the chances of Ezeudo (toe) returning from IR this season, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.

Ezeudu landed on IR earlier this week due to a toe injury, and it looks like the issue could keep him from returning during the 2023 campaign. He had been filling in for Andrew Thomas (hamstring), who has been ruled out for Week 7, at left tackle prior to landing on IR. The Giants will have to hope that newly signed veteran Justin Pugh can continue filling in across the O-line to keep things steady.
