Player Outlook
Over the past two seasons, St. Brown has finished top 12 in total targets, receptions and red-zone targets (35). It's the backbone of these stats that have helped St. Brown become a must-start volume-reliant No. 1 Fantasy WR worth a top-30 pick. Lions QB Jared Goff has locked in on the slot specialist for over 25% of his throws since 2021, and St. Brown has turned that opportunity into at least 15 PPR points in 13 of his last 22 games overall. He had more 20-point games for PPR than A.J. Brown and just as many as Ja'Marr Chase. Detroit's offensive additions this spring shouldn't shrink St. Brown's targets much, if at all, making him a reliable must-start worth taking between 16th and 22nd overall in PPR and between 20th and 35th overall in non-PPR.

  • Lions' Amon-Ra St. Brown: Another productive outing

St. Brown caught nine of 11 targets for 95 yards during Thursday's 29-22 loss to Green Bay. Only Keenan Allen has averaged more targets per game than St. Brown has this season, and the USC product yet again took advantage of his voluminous role with a fifth eight-catch game in his past six outings. While St. Brown admittedly needed garbage time to approach the century mark in receiving yards, it can be argued that St. Brown was deprived of a number of other opportunities to rack up stats before that point thanks to Detroit's five failed fourth-down conversion attempts and three drive-killing fumbles. Look for St. Brown to stay busy when the Detroit offense looks to get back on track in a Week 13 road trip to New Orleans.

  • Lions' Amon-Ra St. Brown: Finds end zone in Week 11 win

St. Brown caught eight of 11 targets for 77 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 31-26 win over the Bears. St. Brown's streak of 100-yard receiving performances ended at four games, but he got into the end zone for the fifth time this season on a seven-yard touchdown catch 11 seconds before halftime. The star receiver has caught 73 of 98 targets for 898 yards heading into Thursday's Thanksgiving visit from the Packers. One of St. Brown's five touchdowns came against Green Bay in Week 4, but his 56 yards in that game were a season low.

  • Lions' Amon-Ra St. Brown: Eclipses century mark in win

St. Brown (illness) secured six of nine targets for 108 yards in the Lions' 26-14 win over the Raiders on Monday night. St. Brown took a questionable designation into Monday after coming down with an illness Sunday, but he suited up and looked no worse for wear. The gifted wideout led the Lions in receiving yards while checking in second in receptions and targets, generating his third straight 100-yard effort in the process. While his catch and target totals were actually well behind the massive tallies of the last pair contests -- a stretch during which he generated 25 grabs on 34 targets -- St. Brown's fantasy night was still clearly a success. The third-year star will tangle with another AFC West opponent in the Chargers in Week 10 following a Week 9 bye.

  • Lions' Amon-Ra St. Brown: Suiting up Monday

St. Brown (illness) is active for Monday's game versus the Raiders. St. Brown came down with an illness Sunday that forced the Lions to add him to their Week 8 injury report as questionable to play Monday, but it won't impact his availability after all. He'll thus take on his usual high-volume role in Detroit's passing attack against a Las Vegas defense that has conceded the ninth-highest catch rate (69 percent) to opposing wide receivers this season.

  • Lions' Amon-Ra St. Brown: Comes down with illness

The Lions added St. Brown to their Week 8 injury report Sunday due to an illness and are listing him as questionable for Monday's contest versus the Raiders. Since missing Week 5 against the Panthers due to an abdominal injury, St. Brown has been heavily utilized in the passing game, as he's gathered in 25 of 34 targets for 226 yards and one touchdown over the last two games. With an illness now in tow, the status of Detroit's top wide receiver for Week 8 won't be confirmed until about 90 minutes before Monday's 8:15 p.m. ET kickoff. If St. Brown ultimately sits out, fellow WRs Josh Reynolds, Jameson Williams and Kalif Raymond figure to handle bigger workloads.

  • Lions' Amon-Ra St. Brown: Targeted 19 times

St. Brown recorded 13 receptions on 19 targets for 102 yards in Sunday's 38-6 loss to the Ravens. The Lions offense was stalled for the entire game except for one late possession in garbage time, but that didn't stop St. Brown from recording his fourth 100-yard performance of the season. He did so almost entirely based on volume, as he averaged only 5.4 yards per target with his longest gain of the day going for 15 yards. While the performance wasn't one of his best, it does illustrate the safety of his weekly stat lines thanks to his integral role in the Detroit offense.

  • Lions' Amon-Ra St. Brown: Returns with 124 yards

St. Brown recorded 12 receptions on 15 targets for 124 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 20-6 win over the Buccaneers. St. Brown returned from a one-game absence caused by an abdominal injury, though he showed no signs of the issue. He tallied season-high marks in targets, receptions and yards, and his performance was highlighted by lengthy receptions of 27 and 23 yards -- the former of which went for a touchdown. While St. Brown has been limited to either seven or eight targets in three of his five games this season, he's still managed to top 100 receiving yards on three occasions.

  • Lions' Amon-Ra St. Brown: Logs full practice Thursday

St. Brown (abdomen) practiced in full Thursday. After giving St. Brown a week off, including the Lions' Week 5 win against the Panthers, to tend to an abdominal injury, St. Brown followed up Wednesday's capped session with all activity one day later. He even told Eric Woodyard of ESPN.com on Thursday, "I feel good. I feel ready, so we'll see," regarding his availability for Sunday's game at Tampa Bay. The Lions still may list St. Brown with a designation for Week 6 action upon the release of Friday's practice report, but all signs seem to point toward the wide receiver returning to action this weekend.

  • Lions' Amon-Ra St. Brown: Officially limited Wednesday

St. Brown (abdomen) practiced in a limited capacity Wednesday. St. Brown didn't log any on-field work during Week 5 prep before the Lions deemed him inactive ahead of this past Sunday's win over the Panthers. Head coach Dan Campbell expressed optimism about St. Brown's chances of playing Week 6 against the Buccaneers when speaking to Justin Rogers of The Detroit News and Tim Twentyman of the Lions' official site earlier this week, and the receiver's return to practice seemingly backs up Campbell's hopefulness. Ultimately, St. Brown likely will need to get through the Lions' next two practices unscathed before the Lions provide some clarity on his status heading into Sunday.

  • Lions' Amon-Ra St. Brown: Will practice Wednesday

Head coach Dan Campbell said that St. Brown (abdomen) will be on the practice field Wednesday, Tim Twentyman of the Lions' official site reports. St. Brown will practice in at least a limited fashion after sitting out all three of the Lions' sessions last week before missing Sunday's win over Carolina. He appears to be trending in the right direction for this Sunday's road matchup against the Buccaneers, as Campbell stated in his Monday press conference. The Lions will reveal their first Week 6 practice report later Wednesday, when it will be known whether St. Brown was a limited or full participant.

  • Lions' Amon-Ra St. Brown: Won't practice Friday

Coach Dan Campbell noted that St. Brown (abdomen) is not in line to practice Friday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. The report adds that the Lions expect to know more about St. Brown's status for Sunday's game against the Panthers in the next 24 hours. With another absence on tap Friday, St. Brown will have missed the entire practice week, with added context regarding his Week 5 status set to arrive when Detroit's final injury report is posted.

  • Lions' Amon-Ra St. Brown: Still aiming to play Week 5

St. Brown (abdomen) said Thursday that his goal remains to play this Sunday against the Panthers, despite having sat out the Lions' first two Week 5 practices, Kyle Meinke of MLive.com reports. Though he's gone down as a non-participant on both of the Lions' two practice reports for Week 5, St. Brown hasn't been completely inactive during those sessions. As Eric Woodyard of ESPN.com notes, St. Brown was spotted working with trainers off to the side Thursday, just as the receiver was able to do Wednesday. Even so, the Lions will still presumably want to see St. Brown log at least some reps with the team before clearing him to play, so his activity (or lack thereof) at Friday's session will be more telling with regards to his chances of suiting up Sunday. If St. Brown ends up sitting out this weekend, quarterback Jared Goff could become more reliant on tight end Sam LaPorta, running back Jahmyr Gibbs and receivers Josh Reynolds (groin) and Jameson Williams, the last of whom is set to make his 2023 debut Sunday after completing a four-game suspension to begin the season.

  • Lions' Amon-Ra St. Brown: Idle for another practice

St. Brown (abdomen) will be a non-participant in Thursday's practice, Colton Pouncy of The Athletic reports. Per Eric Woodyard of ESPN.com, St. Brown will be working out and running off to the side under the supervision of trainers, just as he did for the Lions' first official Week 5 practice session Wednesday as well as an unofficial session Tuesday. With no involvement in team reps thus far in Week 5, St. Brown may need to take part in drills in some capacity Friday to have a realistic shot at playing Sunday versus the Panthers. If St. Brown is sidelined this weekend, his absence would be cushioned to some extent by the return of 2022 first-round pick Jameson Williams, who is eligible to make his season debut after serving a four-game suspension to begin the campaign.

  • Lions' Amon-Ra St. Brown: Iffy for Sunday

Lions head coach Dan Campbell was non-committal about St. Brown's availability for Sunday's game against the Panthers while the receiver tends to an unspecified injury, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports. Campbell offered no insight into the injury, which St. Brown presumably sustained in the Lions' 34-20 win over the Packers last Thursday. St. Brown took on a relatively normal snap share (88 percent) in that game and finished with five catches for 56 yards and a touchdown, so no sign of injury was evident in his playing time or production. The Lions will hold their first official Week 5 practice Wednesday and release their injury report after the session, at which time the nature of St. Brown's injury will be known. Birkett notes that the Lions held an informal practice Tuesday, and while St. Brown didn't take part in team drills, he was spotted running at full speed off to the side under the supervision of trainers.

  • Lions' Amon-Ra St. Brown: Finds end zone in Week 4 win

St. Brown secured five of seven targets for 56 yards and a touchdown in the Lions' 34-20 win over the Packers on Thursday night. The star wideout took a back seat to running back David Montgomery, who pace Detroit's victory with a 121-yard, three-touchdown effort on the ground. However, St. Brown found a way to make an impact via his 24-yard scoring grab in the first quarter. The third-year star's reception and receiving yardage totals were season lows, yet he remains an elite option in all formats heading into a Week 5 home matchup against the Panthers on Sunday, Oct. 8.

  • Lions' Amon-Ra St. Brown: Tops century mark

St. Brown caught nine of 12 targets for 102 yards in Sunday's 20-6 win over the Falcons. He also rushed once for four yards. St. Brown overcame a toe injury to suit up and performed like his usual self. The Pro Bowl wideout led Detroit in catches, targets and receiving yards, although rookie Sam LaPorta had the team's only touchdown grab. Along with recording at least six receptions in each game this season, St. Brown has either scored or topped 100 yards in all three contests. That puts him in excellent form ahead of Thursday night's visit to Green Bay, where top cornerback Jaire Alexander (back) was sidelined in Week 3.

  • Lions' Amon-Ra St. Brown: Suiting up Sunday

St. Brown (toe) is active for Sunday's game against the Falcons. Despite finishing the week as a full practice participant, St. Brown took a questionable tag into Sunday while tending to a toe injury. As anticipated, the toe issue won't prevent St. Brown from suiting up for the Week 3 matchup, though the wideout acknowledged that he'll play the game with a steel plate in his shoe. According to ESPN.com, St. Brown said that he has previously played with a plate in his shoe during his high school days, so assuming he experiences no discomfort, his snaps aren't expected to affected Sunday.

  • Lions' Amon-Ra St. Brown: Expects to play

St. Brown (toe) suggested Friday that he'll play in Sunday's game against Atlanta, Eric Woodyard of ESPN.com reports. St. Brown's comments came about two hours after coach Dan Campbell told reporters he felt "pretty good" about the wide receiver's chances of playing. It remains to be seen how the Lions list St. Brown on their final injury report, with a 'questionable' designation still possible amidst the optimism.

  • Lions' Amon-Ra St. Brown: On the right track

Coach Dan Campbell said Friday he feels "pretty good" about St. Brown (toe) playing Sunday against the Falcons, Eric Woodyard of ESPN.com reports. St. Brown likely will be listed as questionable on the final injury report and seems to have better odds than the team's other injured starters. Out of the five starters that missed practice Wednesday, only St. Brown was able to return Thursday, albeit as a limited participant.

  • Lions' Amon-Ra St. Brown: Limited in return to practice

St. Brown (knee) was limited at Thursday's practice. After coach Dan Campbell told Eric Woodyard of ESPN.com on Wednesday that St. Brown was dealing with a toe injury, was day-to-day and wouldn't practice to begin Week 3 prep, the wide receiver mixed into some drills one day later. It's a decent enough sign that St. Brown is doing everything possible to be available Sunday against the Falcons, but his status still will be one to monitor closely, especially with how the Lions list him on Friday's practice report.
