  • Bengals' Tanner McLachlan: Tiny impact

McLachlan, the Bengals' sixth-round pick in the 2024 draft, was elevated from the practice squad in only two games, netting just five offensive snaps and 17 special-teams snaps. He was not targeted on any passes. McLachlan was considered to have a decent receiving upside potential from the tight-end spot, but he couldn't crack the Bengals' rotation despite the team employing tight ends in the passing game more frequently in 2024.

  • Bengals' Tanner McLachlan: Not debuting Sunday

McLachlan (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's Week 13 battle against the Steelers. McLachlan, a rookie sixth-round draft pick out of Arizona, will continue to wait to make his NFL debut. It would likely take an absence to a tight end above him on the depth chart -- Mike Gesicki, Drew Sample, or Tanner Hudson -- for McLachlan to be given a chance to suit up on game day.

  • Bengals' Tanner McLachlan: Won't make NFL debut Sunday

McLachlan (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Ravens. McLachlan, a rookie sixth-round pick out of Arizona, has yet to make his NFL regular-season debut. Mike Gesicki, Erick All and Drew Sample will be Cincinnati's only active tight ends during Week 5.

  • Bengals' Tanner McLachlan: Cincy adds another tight end

The Bengals selected McLachlan in the sixth round of the 2024 NFL Draft, 194th overall. McLachlan marks the second tight end to land in Cincinnati during the draft, as the team also selected Eric All in the fourth round. McLachlan was a strong receiving weapon with Arizona throughout his collegiate career, as he racked up a combined 79 receptions for 984 yards and six touchdowns across his final 25 games. While those numbers are promising, he will need to improve as a blocker to find the field regularly.
