Player Outlook
To get excited about drafting Moore, you mostly have to overlook his rookie season, and there are good reasons to do that. He had only played wide receiver for three seasons before last year and Andy Reid's system is notoriously hard for young receivers to pick up. He's still the same guy who had 1,302 yards from scrimmage and 10 touchdowns in his final season at Western Michigan and got drafted 54th overall last year. While it definitely sounds like he's behind Kadarius Toney prior to the start of camp, Toney has done nothing to give you confidence he'll hold on to his position. Moore is available in the double-digit rounds of most Fantasy drafts and that's right where he belongs. Don't hesitate to pull the trigger starting in Round 11.

  • Chiefs' Skyy Moore: Reels in all three targets

Moore gathered in all three targets for 34 yards during Sunday's 31-17 victory over the Raiders. Moore hadn't tallied more than a pair of catches in a game since Week 3 and hasn't finished with more receiving yards since then, either. That said, neither his receptions nor receiving yards are particularly impressive from a fantasy standpoint. The second-year wideout hasn't found pay dirt since Week 2 and can safely remain on the waiver wire in most formats.

  • Chiefs' Skyy Moore: Snares one pass versus Eagles

Moore had one reception (on two targets) for four yards during Monday's 21-17 defeat against the Eagles. Moore hasn't hauled in more than two passes since Week 3 and turned in his lowest receiving total since Week 4's goose egg Monday night. He also has outputs of 11, 15 and eight yards among his last five contests, so there's little to get excited about regarding the second-year wideout's fantasy prospects. He did, at least, see an uptick in playing time again, logging 51 percent of the offensive snaps after logging just 23 percent last time out, but he hasn't drawn more than three targets in any of the last four games.

  • Chiefs' Skyy Moore: Playing time drops in Week 9

Moore caught two of three targets for 33 yards during Sunday's 21-14 victory versus the Dolphins. Moore logged just 25 percent of the offensive snaps for the Chiefs in Week 9, his lowest percentage of the season. His stat line falls on par with previous weeks, with his two grabs matching his output in three of the previous four games, but he did finish with his highest receiving yardage total since Week 3 against the Bears. Regardless, there's little to get excited about surrounding the second-year wideout's fantasy prospects the rest of the way.

  • Chiefs' Skyy Moore: Another dud outing in Week 8

Moore posted one reception (on three targets) for eight yards during Sunday's 24-9 defeat versus Denver. Moore hasn't surpassed two receptions in a game since Week 3 and finished third among wideouts with just 33 offensive snaps, trailing Rashee Rice (37) and Marquez Valdes-Scantling (35). There's little reason to roster Moore in any but dynasty or deep fantasy formats, considering how widespread the targets are outside of Travis Kelce.

  • Chiefs' Skyy Moore: Continues to disappoint

Moore had two receptions (on three targets) for 15 yards during Sunday's 31-17 victory over the Chargers. While Moore ranked second on the team in terms of snaps among Chiefs wideouts Sunday, he turned in just two catches for the third straight game and hasn't drawn more than four targets since Week 3. Rookie Rashee Rice has outperformed the second-year wideout on a weekly basis and has drawn 20 targets to Moore's 11 over the past four games, so things seem to be trending in different directions for the two young wideouts.

  • Chiefs' Skyy Moore: Pair of catches Thursday

Moore hauled in two of his four targets for 22 yards during Thursday's 19-8 victory over Denver. Moore has just four catches for 33 yards on eight targets to his name over the last three games, so the second-year wideout doesn't seem to be making much headway in the fantasy realm. There are simply no reliable fantasy wide receivers on the Chiefs on a week-to-week basis with a deep, but rather mediocre, room rotating in, so Moore can be left on the waiver wire in the vast majority of fantasy formats.

  • Chiefs' Skyy Moore: Snares two passes in Week 5

Moore caught all two targets for 11 yards during Sunday's 27-20 victory over the Vikings. Moore's production is a slight upgrade from the empty outing in the receptions column last week, though he also tallied a pair of rushes for 19 yards against the Jets. Either way, Moore reverted to being a fantasy dud after a couple of promising outings in Weeks 2 and 3, when he combined for seven catches for 112 yards and a touchdown on 10 targets. Until there is an upswing in the second-year wideout's production, he can be left on the bench or waiver wire in most formats.

  • Chiefs' Skyy Moore: No impact on box score against Jets

Moore didn't reel in either of his targets during Sunday's 23-20 win over the Jets. Moore finished the game behind only Justin Watson in snap count, but it remains a desolate fantasy landscape among the wide receivers in terms of fantasy impact since the departure of Tyreek Hill for Miami. Despite the healthy playing time, Moore finished behind Rashee Rice (five) and Noah Gray (three) in targets, along with Travis Kelce (nine), and he matched Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Kadarius Toney with two. The passing game, on the whole, displayed some struggles, with Patrick Mahomes tossing multiple interceptions for the first time since Week 14 of last season. Next week's matchup against the Vikings should provide the passing attack with an opportunity to get back on track.

  • Chiefs' Skyy Moore: Amasses six targets

Moore notched four receptions (on six targets) for 42 yards during Sunday's 41-10 win against Chicago. Moore was also targeted a seventh time, though that play was scrapped due to a defensive offside. That said, two of his official six targets came when backup Blaine Gabbert was in after the Chiefs went up 41-0 on the Bears early in the second half, and they accounted for 17 of his 42 receiving yards on the day. Moore did reach pay dirt in Week 3, but he remains an inconsistent producer from a fantasy standpoint. He will likely be a touchdown-dependent option potentially worth rostering in deeper or dynasty fantasy formats.

  • Chiefs' Skyy Moore: Sleeper WRs

Moore finally did something of significance in Week 2 at Jacksonville with three catches for 70 yards and a touchdown on four targets. It's not enough to make him a must-start receiver in the majority of leagues, but it's a start and hopefully something he can build on. And this week, Moore gets a great matchup against the Bears, who have allowed the opposing No. 1 receiver -- Romeo Doubs in Week 1 and Mike Evans in Week 2 -- to score at least 18.6 PPR points in each of the first two games. Moore likely won't accomplish that level of production, but he could benefit if Kadarius Toney (hamstring) is hurt. I would use Moore as a No. 3 Fantasy receiver in Week 3.

  • Chiefs' Skyy Moore: Quiet in Week 1 loss

Moore failed to bring in any of his three targets and rushed once for four yards in the Chiefs' 21-20 loss to the Lions on Thursday night. No one member of the Chiefs' pass-catching corps saw a major boost in production from the absence of Travis Kelce (knee), and Moore couldn't do anything with his three opportunities. The second-year wideout will be one of several explosive components of Kansas City's air attack this season, but Patrick Mahomes targeted a total of 12 players Thursday in Kelce's absence, so the night wasn't exactly a good gauge of how matters will evolve on that side of the ball. Moore will be one of multiple members of the receiving corps looking to atone for an underwhelming opener during a Week 2 road matchup against the Jaguars a week from Sunday.

  • Chiefs' Skyy Moore: Sleepers (Start/Sit)

We're waiting to find out the status for Travis Kelce (knee), but if he's out against the Lions then Moore could have a big game. Even if Kelce plays then I would still start Moore as at least a No. 3 Fantasy receiver in all leagues. He is going to get plenty of attention from Patrick Mahomes this season, starting this week, and Moore has the potential for plenty of production each week. I also wouldn't worry about Kadarius Toney (knee) this week if he plays because I expect his snaps to be limited in his return to action.

  • Chiefs' Skyy Moore: Earns every-down role

Chiefs general manager Brett Veach suggested Wednesday that Moore will start the season in an every-down role, Jesse Newell of The Kansas City Star reports. Veach said fellow young receivers Rashee Rice and Justyn Ross will start the year as "package" players but could eventually progress to every-down roles. Moore apparently has already reached that level, earning a top-three spot at receiver heading into Week 1 after spending most of his rookie season fourth or fifth on the depth chart. He and Marquez Valdes-Scantling are the favorites to lead Kansas City's receivers in snaps Week 1 against Detroit, though Kadarius Toney (knee) could also be a big part of the passing game if he's healthy enough to play.

  • Chiefs' Skyy Moore: Starts preseason opener

Moore started but was not targeted in limited action during Sunday's 26-24 preseason-opening loss to the Saints. Moore began the game alongside Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Justin Watson in Kansas City's first-team offense. However, with superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes featuring for just one drive, Moore too was withdrawn early on, allowing rookie Rashee Rice and Justyn Ross more opportunities. Coming off just 22 catches last season, Moore -- a 2022 second-rounder -- could grow in importance in the buildup to the upcoming campaign, as fellow wideout Kadarius Toney (knee) is likely out for the preseason.

  • Chiefs' Skyy Moore: Working with starters regularly

Moore is dominating first-team snaps in two-wide formations at training camp, Jesse Newell of the KC Star reports. Newell also mentions that Rashee Rice and Justyn Ross have only occasionally mixed in with the starters and "overwhelmingly" are working with the second unit. Moore and Marquez Valdes-Scantling, on the other hand, primarily have caught passes from Patrick Mahomes. Meanwhile, Chiefs GM Brett Veach said Monday that he expects Kadarius Toney (knee) to be ready for Week 1, which would give the Chiefs another candidate to start at wide receiver

  • Chiefs' Skyy Moore: Getting look as top slot man

Moore appears set to enter training camp as Kansas City's top slot receiver after an impressive showing in mandatory minicamp last month, Nate Taylor of The Athletic reports. "Skyy's worked real hard this offseason," head coach Andy Reid said during minicamp. "He looks like he's on the same page with Patrick [Mahomes]. Let's keep on advancing as we go. He'll do that because he's wired right to do that." Moore had some notable ball-security issues as a return man and was limited to a part-time role on offense during his rookie season, finishing with just 22 catches for 250 yards and no touchdowns across 33 targets. Though Kansas City didn't lean on him much to fill in for the departed Tyreek Hill in 2022, Moore looks like he'll be asked to serve as more of a direct replacement in 2023 for JuJu Smith-Schuster, who left for the Patriots in free agency. Moore already seems to have an early edge on the slot receiver job, but he'll need to continue to shine in training camp and the preseason in order to hold off the likes of Rashee Rice, Justin Watson and Justyn Ross for the gig. Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Kadarius Toney are the defending champs' other two projected starting wideouts.

  • Chiefs' Skyy Moore: Catches TD in Super Bowl

Moore finished his rookie campaign with 22 receptions on 33 targets for 250 receiving yards across 16 regular-season appearances. He added three rushes for 24 rushing yards and operated as a kick- and punt-returner in 2022. Moore caught five passes in back-to-back games during Weeks 11 and 12, totaling 99 receiving yards during that stretch, but he was also held without a catch in six games and had only one reception five times during the regular season. Due to his lack of targets, Moore wasn't much of a factor in standard fantasy leagues despite Kansas City's lack of wideout depth, but he's still a core piece of the Chiefs' future and could make a sizable impact in Year 2 with Mecole Hardman and JuJu Smith-Schuster set for free agency this offseason. The rookie had at least one reception in each of his three playoff appearances, including a seven-target outing in the AFC Championship Game and a big touchdown in the Super Bowl.

  • Chiefs' Skyy Moore: Cleared for divisional round

Moore (hand) was a full participant in Tuesday's practice. Moore sat out Kansas City's regular-season finale against the Raiders on Jan. 7 due to a laceration on his right hand, but he looks to be feeling fine coming out of the team's bye week during the opening round of the postseason. Kansas City could remain without Mecole Hardman (pelvis) for Saturday's divisional-round matchup with the Jaguars, but Hardman's absence didn't open up extensive work for the rookie in Week 17 against the Broncos. Moore recorded three catches for 33 yards on four targets in that contest but played just 26 percent of Kansas City's snaps on offense.

  • Chiefs' Skyy Moore: Ruled out for Week 18

Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said Moore will be listed as out for Saturday's game due to a lacerated right hand, Nate Taylor of The Athletic reports. The injury prompted Moore's early exit from last Sunday's win over the Broncos and resulted in his practice reps being managed carefully for Week 18. Though the rookie wideout doesn't appear to be dealing with a long-term concern, he'll sit out the regular-season finale with the hope of being back to full strength for the start of the postseason. Once healthy, Moore may not have much of a role for Kansas City, as the Chiefs have all their other key receivers available now that Mecole Hardman (pelvis) has been reinstated from injured reserve. The second-round pick out of Western Michigan finishes the regular season with 22 catches for 250 yards on 33 targets to go with 24 yards on three carries.
