  • Cowboys' Jonathan Mingo: Does little with four targets

Mingo caught one of four targets for two yards in a 27-20 win over the Giants on Thanksgiving.

The 2023 second-round pick hasn't found any more success so far in Dallas than he'd seen in Carolina. Mingo has received 10 targets in three games since being traded to the Cowboys, but he's caught only two of them for 10 yards. He's at best fifth on the wideout depth chart, competing for snaps with Jalen Brooks and Ryan Flournoy, and there's little reason to expect he'll show up on the fantasy radar over the final weeks of the season.

  • Cowboys' Jonathan Mingo: Comes up empty in team debut

Mingo played 24 of the Cowboys' 83 offensive snaps and failed to reel in any of his four targets in Monday's 34-10 loss to the Texans.

Making his Cowboys debut after he was acquired from the Panthers on Nov. 5, Mingo was the only active Dallas skill-position player who finished without a reception on a night in which quarterback Cooper Rush dropped back 60 times and targeted 11 different pass catchers. Mingo finished fourth among Dallas receivers in snaps, but he could drop down a spot in the pecking order if Brandin Cooks (knee) -- who has resumed practicing this week -- is activated from injured reserve ahead of Sunday's game at Washington.

  • Cowboys' Jonathan Mingo: Set for team debut Monday

Mingo is active for Monday's game against the Texans, Clarence E. Hill Jr. of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.

Mingo was moved from Carolina to Dallas at the trade deadline on Nov. 5, but he understandably was held out Week 10 with only days to acclimate to a new offense. With another week of practice under his belt, he'll make his Cowboys debut Monday, but with Cooper Rush handling QB duties for Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb (back) the clear top option in the passing game, Mingo may be hard-pressed to produce. In 24 appearances with the Panthers, the 2023 second-round pick recorded 55 catches and no touchdowns on 111 targets.

  • Cowboys' Jonathan Mingo: Set to debut in Week 11

Mingo is expected to make his Cowboys debut Monday against the Texans, Clarence E. Hill Jr. of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.

Mingo was acquired from the Panthers last Tuesday but was a healthy inactive for this past Sunday's loss to Philadelphia. With a full week of prep with his new team, Mingo looks like he'll be ready for a role in the game plan Monday, though he won't necessarily be in store for heavy snaps with CeeDee Lamb and Jalen Tolbert ahead of him in the pecking order at receiver.

  • Cowboys' Jonathan Mingo: Healthy scratch Sunday

Mingo (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Eagles.

Just five days removed from getting traded from Carolina to Dallas, Mingo won't be available in his first chance with his new squad. The acclimation process could take some time, but the Cowboys also are in some limbo with QB Dak Prescott (hamstring) likely to undergo season-ending surgery. Cooper Rush is taking over for Prescott under center, and top WR CeeDee Lamb is playing through a shoulder injury, so Mingo may not have to wait long for his next game action if the team turns its focus toward the future.
