Buccaneers' Chris Braswell: Pair of QB hits in loss
Braswell delivered one assisted tackle and two quarterback hits in the Buccaneers' 26-7 loss to the Broncos on Sunday.
Braswell played on 23 snaps overall (34 percent) and was able to make contact with Bo Nix twice during the lopsided loss. Buccaneers' Chris Braswell: Records sack in joint practice
Braswell, the Buccaneers' rookie second-round pick, used his speed to record a would-be sack during Wednesday's joint practice with the Jaguars, Brianna Dix of the team's official site reports.
Braswell had just a single tackle in the Buccaneers' 17-14 preseason win over the Bengals on Saturday night, but Dix reports the rookie showed off his speed and athleticism Wednesday by utilizing a long-arm maneuver on the offensive tackle and pushing him into the quarterback. Braswell is expected to play a key rotational role right from the onset of his career, with Tampa Bay banking on the same talent that led to him pacing the SEC in quarterback pressures (56) in 2023 manifesting itself regularly at the NFL level.

Buccaneers' Chris Braswell: Nabbed by Bucs
The Buccaneers selected Braswell in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft, 57th overall.
Braswell is the latest Alabama defender to make it to the league. He is the fifth Crimson Tide player selected thus far. Braswell is an edge rusher who collected 8.0 sacks and 10.5 total tackles for loss as a senior. He can scream off the edge with 4.6 speed. Braswell lacks length (33.25-inch arms at 6-foot-3, 251 pounds), however, so bigger and more powerful offensive tackles could be a challenge for him at the next level. Still, he's a bendy and quick edge that was coached well in college and knows how to find the ball and make plays in the backfield. Given that Braswell is at his best in a two-point stance, he projects to challenge 2021 first-rounder Joe Tryon-Shoyinka for reps at outside linebacker.
