Cardinals' Chad Ryland: Set for kicking duties
Ryland will be the Cardinals kicker against the 49ers on Sunday, Darren Urban of the team's official site reports.
Ryland was elevated from the practice squad Saturday due to Matt Prater's (knee) availability being in question for Week 5. With Prater ultimately being inactive, the Maryland product will get the opportunity to handle kicking duties. Ryland was selected in the fourth round of the 2023 NFL Draft by the Patriots but ultimately struggled in his rookie campaign, making just 64 percent of his FGAs, before getting cut by New England in August.

Cardinals' Kelvin Beachum: Active for Week 5
Beachum (hamstring) is active for Sunday's game against San Francisco.
The veteran right tackle was listed as questionable but has been playing through the hamstring issue the last couple weeks.

Cardinals' Khyiris Tonga: Back in action
Tonga (knee) is active Sunday against the 49ers.
Tonga left Week 3 early with the injury and missed Week 4, but will be suiting up Sunday. His return should bolster the Cardinals' depth on the interior of their defensive line.

Cardinals' Garrett Williams: Officially out
Williams (groin) is inactive Sunday against the 49ers.
Williams was ruled out Friday, so this news doesn't come as any surprise. The absence of the Syracuse product will leave the Cardinals without their slot corner, and although a replacement hasn't been announced, Kei'Trel Clark is a likely candidate to handle that role.

Cardinals' Matt Prater: Not kicking Sunday
Prater (knee) is inactive Sunday against the 49ers.
Prater logged a limited practice Friday after back-to-back DNPs, but the veteran kicker isn't healthy enough to take the field in Week 5. Instead, the Cardinals will hand those duties over to Chad Ryland who was elevated from the practice squad Saturday.

Cardinals' Trey McBride: Active as expected Sunday
McBride (ribs) is active for Sunday's Week 5 matchup against the 49ers.
McBride had an eventful week as it pertains to his health following a Week 4 absence due to a concussion, managing to clear protocol while practicing in full both Thursday and Friday and entering the weekend sans an injury designation. However, McBride was added to the injury report Saturday with a ribs injury, but subsequent reporting indicated the talented tight end was in line to suit up Sunday. His active status now official, McBride will slide back into his unquestioned No. 1 tight-end role for the divisional clash against San Francisco, sending Elijah Higgins back down to No. 2 slotting at the position.

Cardinals' Trey McBride: In line to suit up Sunday
McBride (ribs) is listed as questionable but is expected to play Sunday versus San Francisco, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
McBride missed Week 4 against Washington while in concussion protocol but was able to return to full practice sessions Thursday and Friday during Week 5 prep. However, he surprisingly popped back up on the injury report Saturday due to an injury to his ribs and was given a questionable tag. Despite the fact that he's now nursing a new injury, McBride looks like he will be able to play through the issue Sunday, ensuring that the Cardinals have one of their top pass catchers for a key NFC West battle with the 49ers. The Cardinals won't officially clear McBride to play until they release their inactive list approximately 90 minutes prior to Sunday's 4:05 p.m. ET kickoff.

Cardinals' Chad Ryland: Elevated ahead of Week 5
The Cardinals elevated Ryland from the practice squad to the active roster Saturday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Ryland was signed to the Cardinals' practice squad Tuesday to provide insurance in case Matt Prater (knee) is unable to play Sunday against the 49ers. Prater was able to practice Friday as a limited participant, but if his knee injury prevents him from suiting up Sunday, Ryland will serve as the Cardinals' kicker. Ryland went 16-for-25 on field-goal attempts and connected on 24 of 25 extra-point tries with the Patriots in 2023.

Cardinals' Trey McBride: Questionable with rib injury
The Cardinals list McBride as questionable for Sunday's game against the 49ers due to a rib injury.
McBride cleared concussion protocol earlier this week after missing the team's Week 4 loss to the Commanders, but despite being a full participant in practice Thursday and Friday, he apparently picked up a rib injury at some point along the way. Elijah Higgins was the de facto starting tight end in his absence last week and would likely see most of the playing time if McBride were to miss a second straight game. Expect more clarity on McBride's status to emerge when the Cardinals release their inactive list 90 minutes prior to Sunday's 4:05 p.m. ET kickoff.

Cardinals' Garrett Williams: Won't play Week 5
Williams (groin) has been ruled out from playing Sunday versus San Francisco, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
Williams is dealing with a groin injury that kept him out of practice all week, and he's now set to miss his first game of the season. Per Bo Brack of GoPHNX.com, coach Jonathan Gannon said the the Cardinals "have somebody in mind" to fill in for Williams, but it's not yet clear who that may be. Williams played 93 percent of the team's defensive snaps Week 4 versus Washington.

Cardinals' Matt Prater: Questionable heading into weekend
Prater (knee) has been deemed questionable for Sunday's game at San Francisco, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
A left knee issue kept Prater out of practice both Wednesday and Thursday, but he was able to return to a limited session Friday. Head coach Jonathan Gannon said before Friday's practice that the veteran kicker is "doing pretty good," per Howard Balzer of USA Today, but it's not yet clear if Prater will be able to suit up Sunday. If he isn't healthy enough to play, Chad Ryland will likely be brought in from the practice squad to kick Sunday.
