Patriots' Vederian Lowe: Will return in Week 5
Lowe (knee) is active for Sunday's game against the Dolphins.
Lowe missed back-to-back games due to a knee injury but is cleared to return in Week 5. He'll presumably start at left tackle against Miami.

Patriots' Kendrick Bourne: Active versus Dolphins
Bourne (knee) is listed as active for Sunday's game against the Dolphins, Evan Lazar of the Patriots' official site reports.
Bourne -- who came off the PUP list Saturday -- is thus set to make his first game appearance since tearing his right ACL on Oct. 29, 2023. In his return to the lineup, it's possible that Bourne will be eased back into the mix, but either way, his presence should provide a needed boost to a New England offense that ranks 31st in the league in scoring (13.0 points per game), per Mike Reiss of ESPN.com. With K.J. Osborn (shoulder) inactive versus Miami, Bourne has an immediate opportunity to step into a key role alongside fellow WRs Ja'Lynn Polk and DeMario Douglas, though for now he profiles as a speculative fantasy option until he gets a full and productive outing in.

Patriots' Javon Baker: Gets week off
Baker (coach's decision) is inactive Sunday against the Dolphins.
Baker will be a healthy scratch for the third time this season. The 2024 fourth-round selection will now turn his focus to working toward earning a chance to suit up in Week 6 against the Texans.

Patriots' K.J. Osborn: Won't play Sunday
Osborn (shoulder) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Dolphins.
Osborn, who was unable to practice this week, was listed as questionable ahead of the contest, and he'll now target a return to action Oct. 13 against the Texans. In his absence Ja'Lynn Polk, DeMario Douglas and Kendrick Bourne -- who was activated from the PUP list Saturday -- figure to lead the Patriots' Week 5 WR corps, with Tyquan Thornton and Kayshon Boutte also available versus Miami.

Patriots' Anfernee Jennings: Suiting up
Jennings (shoulder) is active Sunday against the Dolphins.
Jennings will return after missing last Sunday's loss to the 49ers. His ability to play should be a boon for the Patriots' linebacker corps in Week 5.

Patriots' Kyle Dugger: Won't play Sunday
Dugger (ankle) is inactive Sunday against the Dolphins.
Dugger was unable to practice this week after suffering the injury last Sunday. The timeline for his return to full health has remained murky, but he'll now have to wait until at least Week 6 to get back in action. Jaylinn Hawkins will likely start in his place.

Patriots' Marte Mapu: Could play Sunday
Mapu (calf) was activated from injured reserve Saturday.
Mapu was designated to return earlier this week after missing the mandatory four games on IR. However, the Sacramento State product is still considered questionable for Sunday's game against the Dolphins.

Patriots' Antonio Gibson: Headed for Week 5 start
Gibson is slated to draw the start at running back for the Patriots on Sunday against the Dolphins, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.
Rhamondre Stevenson, who signed a four-year, $36 million extension this past offseason, has been operating as the team's lead back, but with four fumbles on 74 touches through the first four weeks, head coach Jerod Mayo has elected to turn to Gibson as the team's starter Sunday. That said, Mayo noted that Stevenson, who is averaging 4.1 yards per carry on the season, will play versus Miami, but his ball-security issues of late have opened the door for Gibson (5.3 yards per carry on 29 attempts) to see added snaps, at least in Week 5. With that in mind, Gibson offers a fantasy lineup alternative for those currently in need of running back help due to bye weeks or injury issues.

Patriots' Kendrick Bourne: In line for season debut
Bourne (knee), who was activated off the reserve/PUP list Saturday, is listed as questionable for Sunday's game but is expected to play, Andrew Callahan of the Boston Herald reports.
Bourne was expected to make his season debut Sunday after practicing in limited fashion all week. He'll join a beleaguered Patriots passing attack that has yet to surpass 170 passing yards in any of the four contests this campaign. The veteran receiver quietly had developed into a featured pass catcher last season in a similarly dire passing offense, recording at least two catches in all eight games before going down with a season-ending ACL tear, but it's hard to imagine Bourne significantly turning around a New England offense that ranks dead last in total passing yards in 2024.

Patriots' Jabrill Peppers: Won't play vs. Miami
Peppers (shoulder) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's divisional game against the Dolphins, Doug Kyed of the Boston Herald reports.
Peppers injured his shoulder in Week 4 against the 49ers. He was able to log back-to-back limited practice sessions to end the week, but it appears his shoulder injury is too severe enough for him to play Sunday. Peppers' next chance at suiting up will be against the Texans in Week 6. Dell Pettus and Jaylinn Hawkins could serve as the Patriots' starting safeties due to Peppers being ruled out and Kyle Dugger listed as questionable after missing practice all week due to an ankle injury.

Patriots' Antonio Gibson: In line to start versus Fins
Gibson is in line to start at running back in the Patriots' Week 5 matchup with the Dolphins, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.
Head coach Jerod Mayo stated Friday that Rhamondre Stevenson has officially lost his starting role for at least Week 5. The reason for this is due to his fumbling issues through four games. As a result, Gibson is presumably the next man up in New England's backfield. The veteran back has accumulated 155 yards on 29 carries, while hauling in seven passes for 82 yards. While Stevenson is still expected to play a role in the offense as a depth option, Gibson should get an opportunity to shine versus Miami.
