Lightning's Steven Stamkos: Four-game, six-point streak
Stamkos scored a goal in a 3-2 overtime loss to Winnipeg on Wednesday. It was Stamkos being Stamkos -- he was parked in the left circle on the power play, and Nikita Kucherov delivered a perfect cross-ice pass that Stamkos one-timed past Connor Hellebuyck on the power play. The goal stretched Stammer's point streak to four games (three goals, three assists) and his goal streak to three games (three snipes). He has fired 13 shots in those three games. At 33, Stamkos has shown no sign of slowing down. He has 21 points, including eight goals, in 18 games this season.... See More ... See Less -
Lightning's Steven Stamkos: Stays hot against Boston
Stamkos scored an even-strength goal and added a power-play assist in Monday's 5-4 overtime win over the Bruins. The veteran forward tied things up with just five seconds left in the third period to force OT, blasting a one-timer past Jeremy Swayman from the faceoff dot. It was the seventh goal and 20th point of the season for Stamkos in 17 games, and over half of that production (two tallies and nine helpers) has come with the man advantage -- not a surprise for a player who's recorded at least 14 goals and 33 points on the power play in each of his last four full seasons.... Lightning's Steven Stamkos: Power-play mystery machine
Stamkos picked up two power-play points, with one goal and one assist, in 6-4 victory over the Oilers on Saturday. He got the primary apple on Nikita Kucherov's first period goal, and then flipped the table and wired a snap shot on a feed from Kucherov that tied the game 4-4 in the third. The goal was Stamkos' sixth of the season and his second power-play snipe. He has 18 points, including 10 on the man advantage, in 16 games this season. That's his best production on the power play in his career, but it's a pace that could slow as the season progresses. Games can mysteriously get tighter in the second half.... See More ... See Less -
Lightning's Steven Stamkos: Two points in Thursday's loss
Stamkos got credit for a goal and an assist in Thursday's 4-2 loss to the Blue Jackets. Both Lightning tallies were generated by plenty of puck luck, and both came on Stamkos passes that deflected off the skates of Columbus players -- one straight into the back of the net, and the other caroming straight to Conor Sheary at the side of the cage. Regardless of how he got onto the scoresheet, Stamkos has three multi-point performances in the season's first eight games and has amassed four goals and 10 points.... See More ... See Less -
Lightning's Steven Stamkos: Power-play success continues
Stamkos had a goal and an assist in a 6-0 win over the Sharks on Thursday. He pushed the lead to 3-0 at the end of the first period with a power-play goal from the left circle off a feed from Nikita Kucherov. Stamkos had one shot and finished plus-1, and he has eight points, including three goals, in six games this season. Five of Stammer's points have come with the man advantage.... See More ... Stamkos (lower body) picked up an assist and had seven shots in 18:55 of ice time in a 4-3 win over the Canucks on Thursday. Stamkos had missed the previous two games due to the injury. He has at least a point in each of his three contests this season (two goals, three assists), and all three assists have come with the man advantage. Stamkos also has 15 shots in those three games and continues to be a difference maker for the Lightning and fantasy managers alike.... See More ... See Less -
Lightning's Steven Stamkos: Set to return Thursday
Stamkos (lower body) is expected to return Thursday versus Vancouver, per Gabby Shirley of Bally Sports Florida. Stamkos missed the Lightning's previous two games. Stamkos (lower body) was back at practice Thursday, according to Gabby Shirley of Bally Sports Florida. Stamkos has missed the last two games. He was strong in his opening pair of games this season, scoring twice and adding a pair of helpers. Stamkos had 34 goals and 84 points last season after picking up a career-high 106 points in 2021-22. He skated on the second line with Anthony Cirelli and Brandon Hagel during morning practice. Stamkos could return to the lineup as early as Thursday night against the Canucks.... See More ... See Less -
Lightning's Steven Stamkos: Unavailable against Buffalo
Stamkos (lower body) won't play Tuesday versus the Sabres, Heather Engel of NHL.com reports. Stamkos is considered day-to-day with his lower-body issue, so although he'll miss a second straight contest Tuesday, it sounds like his injury isn't a long-term concern. Look for Alex Barre-Boulet to remain in the lineup until Stamkos is ready to return.... See More ... See Less -
Lightning's Steven Stamkos: Won't play Sunday
Stamkos (lower body) won't play in Sunday's game versus the Senators, Chris Krenn of the Lightning's official site reports. Stamkos was scratched just before warmups began. It's unclear when he suffered the injury -- the 33-year-old had two goals and one assist in 18:11 of ice time Saturday versus the Red Wings. He can be considered day-to-day ahead of Tuesday's game in Buffalo.... See More ... See Less -
Lightning's Steven Stamkos: Hot start to season
Stamkos scored twice and added an assist in a 6-4 loss to Detroit on Saturday. The 33-year-old is off to a hot start with two goals and two assists in two games. Both assists have come on the power play. Stamkos came into 2023-24 disappointed that the Lightning haven't done more to get him inked to a contract extension, but you'd never know it from his play. He remains an elite fantasy play.... See More ... See Less -
Lightning's Steven Stamkos: Extension talks not happening
Stamkos is "disappointed" that he hasn't heard from the Lightning about a contract extension, reports " Stammer made it clear at the end of last season that he wanted something done before camp started, and he's clearly disappointed that hasn't happened. "I guess that was something that I didn't see coming but it is what it is," said the 16-year career Bolt. Stamkos has one year left on an eight-year, $68 million deal that has a team-friendly cap hit of $8.5 million. He may be turning 34 in February, but he's still worth every penny. Stamkos is coming off a 34-goal, 84-point season and is the best player to ever don a jersey in Tampa Bay. Both sides want to get something done, but this may take some time. General manager Julien Brisebois says that while he and Stamkos share the common goal of winning another Cup, Brisebois "need(s) to see how this season plays out before I can make those decisions."... "In my eyes, this is the only jersey I ever want to wear in my career." General manager Julien Brisebois has confirmed there will be discussions regarding a new contract. Stamkos, who hit several milestones this season, including 500 goals, 500 assists, 1,000 points and 1,000 NHL games, has one year left on his current deal. He had 34 goals and 50 assists this season.... See More ... See Less -

Lightning's Steven Stamkos: Assist and fight in loss
Stamkos picked up an assist and a fighting major in Saturday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Maple Leafs in Game 3. Stamkos took a couple swings at Auston Matthews that turned into a short-lived fight in the aftermath of a melee that broke out following Brayden Point's injury after an awkward hit. It was the first time in NHL history that two 60-goal snipers fought. So far this postseason, Stamkos has no goals, two assists and seven PIM and shots in three games.... See More ... See Less -

Thirty-five of those points have come with the man advantage. Stamkos also finished minus-2 on the game, a tally that dropped his season mark to minus-7 with just three games left. Lightning's Steven Stamkos: No points in milestone game
Stamkos played his 1,000th NHL game Thursday in a 6-1 loss to the Islanders. He had one shot on goal in 18:23 of ice time. Unfortunately, the Bolts showed few signs of life in Stammer's milestone game. Over his career, Stamkos has 514 goals and 1,052 points in 1,000 games. He is just the second to play 1,000 games with Tampa Bay, joining Vincent Lecavalier.... See More ... See Less -
