Kadri delivered two assists in a 5-4 shootout loss to the Islanders on Saturday. His first helper was a beauty. He banked the puck hard off the right boards at a perfect angle for Martin Pospisil to pick up in stride, cut hard to the net and hold the puck until he roofed it over Ilya Sorokin. Kadri picked up two assists, one on the power play, in Wednesday's 4-3 loss to the Stars. He also added six shots on net, two hits and a minus-1 rating to his ledger while winning seven of 13 faceoffs. Kadri has had a sluggish start to the year along with the rest of the Flames' roster, managing only one helper in his first eight games, but the 33-year-old forward appears to be waking up offensively. The same can't be said at the other end of the ice, however -- after getting saddled with a career-worst minus-19 rating last season, his first campaign with Calgary, Kadri's already at a minus-12 through the first 10 games of 2023-24.... Kadri scored a goal on his lone shot in a 5-2 loss to the Oilers' in Sunday's Heritage Classic. Kadri got the Flames on the board on a power play late in the first period, deflecting a MacKenzie Weegar shot to cut the deficit to 2-1. It's the first goal and just the second point through nine games for Kadri, who's gotten off to a slow start in his second season in Calgary.
