  • Kings' Cam Talbot: Cruises to win

Talbot stopped 33 of 34 shots in Tuesday's 5-1 win over the Blue Jackets.

Talbot allowed a goal to Adam Boqvist in the second period, but the Kings' offense kept the team in control. This was Talbot's second win in a row, and he's allowed exactly one goal in each of those games. The 36-year-old struggled throughout January, but his reduced role in that span may have refreshed him. Talbot is at 16-13-5 with a 2.53 GAA and a .913 save percentage over 35 appearances. The Kings' next game is Thursday versus the Predators.

Talbot was the first goalie to leave the ice Tuesday, Zach Dooley of the Kings' official site reports, indicating he'll be between the pipes at home versus Columbus.

Talbot earned himself another start after his 29-save win over the Penguins on Saturday, the 36-year-old netminder's first victory since Dec. 23. Over that stretch, the Ontario native went 0-7-3 in 11 appearances in which he generated a 3.94 GAA and .877 save percentage.

  • Kings' Cam Talbot: Gets narrow win

Talbot allowed one goal on 30 shots in Sunday's 2-1 win over the Penguins.

Talbot entered Sunday with no wins over his last 11 outings, going 0-7-3 with a 3.94 GAA and an .877 save percentage in that span. He looked set for an 11th straight loss until the Kings got a pair of goals from Adrian Kempe in the third period. Talbot is now at 15-13-5 with a 2.58 GAA and a .911 save percentage on the season, but he's been trending in the wrong direction for a while. David Rittich has seen more playing time lately and is likely the better fantasy option among the Kings' goalies for now.

Talbot will make his first start since Jan. 26 He stopped five of seven shots in relief during Tuesday's loss to Buffalo. • Kings' Cam Talbot: Needed in relief Tuesday

Talbot turned aside five of seven shots in the third period after replacing David Rittich during Tuesday's 7-0 loss to the Sabres.

Neither goalie got any support from the skaters in front of them, as the Kings came out flat and never recovered. Talbot got the hook himself in his last start Jan. 26 and has seen action in only three of the last nine games, allowing a brutal 10 goals on 56 shots, and he's showing little sign of regaining a form that would put him back in contention for the No. 1 job in the crease.

  • Kings' Cam Talbot: Pulled after one period

Talbot gave up three goals on 12 shots in Friday's 5-1 loss to the Avalanche.

Talbot was tagged for two goals by Logan O'Connor and one more from Nathan MacKinnon in the first period. David Rittich stopped 17 of 19 shots in relief over the final two frames. This was Talbot's 10th straight loss (0-7-3), and he's allowed at least three goals in eight of those defeats. The brutal slump has him down to 14-13-5 with a 2.59 GAA and a .911 save percentage through 32 outings, and it's also allowed Rittich to get more playing time.

  • Kings' Cam Talbot: Guarding cage Friday

Talbot will get the starting nod in Colorado on Friday.

Talbot is stuck in a brutal 0-6-3 skid since his last win Dec. 23. The 36-year-old has registered an .887 save percentage during that stretch. Despite the ugly losing streak, Talbot still owns a solid 2.52 GAA and .913 save percentage this season. He's been even better on the road, going 10-4-3 with a .920 save percentage in 17 games.

  • Kings' Cam Talbot: Can't shake skid

Talbot stopped 32 of 37 shots in Wednesday's 5-3 loss to the Sabres.

After getting time for a mental reset following an eight-game skid, Talbot returned to the crease and gave up a two-goal lead. This was the third time in a row he's given up five goals. His struggles are a product of the Kings' overall slump, but Talbot has already started to lose playing time to David Rittich, and that trend seems likely to continue after another dud of a game. For the season, Talbot is at 14-12-5 with a 2.52 GAA and a .913 save percentage over 31 games, but he's been trending in the wrong direction for a month. The Kings begin a three-game road trip in Colorado on Friday.

  • Kings' Cam Talbot: Looking to get on track

Talbot will protect the home goal versus the Sabres on Wednesday, Zach Dooley of the Kings' official site reports.

Talbot has spent three games on the bench following an 0-5-3 stretch in which he allowed 27 goals across eight games. The 36-year-old will get a Sabres team coming off a 4-2 loss to the Ducks on Tuesday -- that combination of a back-to-back and poor form should make this a good chance for Talbot to get himself on track.

  • Kings' Cam Talbot: Gives up another five

Talbot allowed five goals on 28 shots in a 5-1 loss to the Stars on Tuesday.

Talbot has not won a game in almost a full calendar month. The Stars only managed 28 shots on net but Talbot struggled to stop the puck, ending up with an .821 save percentage on the night. It was especially deflating for the Kings when Talbot allowed three consecutive goals in less than four minutes in the third period. It will be hard for fantasy managers to start Talbot until the Kings can start winning again.

  • Kings' Cam Talbot: Slated to start

Talbot is on track to defend the blue paint on the road versus Dallas on Tuesday, Zach Dooley of the Kings' official site reports.

Talbot struggled in his last start Saturday against the Red Wings, surrendering five goals on 27 shots before being replaced by David Rittich at the start of the third period of the eventual 5-3 defeat. Talbot will try to shake off that poor performance and snap his personal seven-game losing streak in a tough road matchup with a Dallas team that's averaging 4.04 goals per game at home this year, second in the NHL.

  • Kings' Cam Talbot: All-Star pulled after allowing five

Talbot allowed five goals on 27 shots in Saturday's 5-3 loss to Detroit.

He was replaced at the start of the third period by David Rittich. Talbot has gone 0-4-3 during the Kings' eight-game winless slump. He has allowed 15 goals in his last four games. There was no way that he could maintain his excellent play from the start of the season, but the fact remains this guy is an All-Star and he plays a style that fits the Kings' system. They will figure this tailspin out as a team, and Talbot should get back on track eventually.

  • Kings' Cam Talbot: Slated to face Red Wings

Talbot is set to start in Saturday's road game against Detroit, per Zach Dooley of LA Kings Insider.

Talbot has gone 0-3-3 over his last six appearances, though he has stopped a respectable 173 of 190 shots (.911 save percentage) in that span. He's having a strong campaign overall with a 14-9-5 record, 2.22 GAA and .922 save percentage in 28 outings. However, Detroit tends to be a difficult matchup for opposing goaltenders -- the Red Wings rank seventh offensively this year with 3.51 goals per game.

Talbot made 38 saves in Thursday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Panthers.

The Kings held a 2-1 lead late in the third period, but Matthew Tkachuk tipped home a Carter Verhaeghe shot with Florida's netminder pulled to tie it up, and Sam Reinhart then flipped home a backhander on the power play with just 0.7 seconds left on the clock in OT. Talbot is 0-3-3 over his last six starts, but he hasn't played poorly with a 2.78 GAA and .911 save percentage over that stretch.

Talbot turned aside 26 shots in Tuesday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Lightning.

The netminder took a shutout into the third period, but Tampa Bay refused to go down on home ice and scored twice from Talbot's doorstep in the final frame before Nick Perbix beat him on the backhand in OT. Talbot hasn't picked up a win in five straight starts, going 0-3-2 with a 2.79 GAA and .906 save percentage in that stretch. Regression may be catching up to the 36-year-old after his impressive start to the season.
