Pageau (illness) took part in Monday's intrasquad scrimmage, per Stefen Rosner of The Hockey News. Pageau had been dealing with an illness prior to getting back on the ice. He notched 13 goals, 40 points and 175 hits in 70 games last season.... See More ... See Less -
Islanders' Jean-Gabriel Pageau: Battling illness
Pageau is day-to-day with an illness, coach Lane Lambert told Andrew Gross of Newsday on Friday. Pageau missed Friday's practice, but there's no reason to expect he'll miss Opening Night. He scored 13 goals and 40 points in 70 outings last season.... See More ... See Less -
Islanders' Jean-Gabriel Pageau: Mirrors output from last season
Pageau earned an assist in Saturday's 4-0 win over the Flyers. Pageau's apple puts him at 39 points (13 goals, 26 assists) on the season, matching his total from last season in nine fewer games. The Isles utilize Pageau on the power play and penalty kill, so his opportunities should remain plentiful, especially with the team currently tied with the Panthers for the first wild-card playoff spot out of the Eastern Conference.... Islanders' Jean-Gabriel Pageau: Extends point streak to four games
Pageau registered two assists in the Islanders' 7-2 victory over Toronto on Tuesday. Pageau missed 12 straight games due to an upper-body injury, but he's been making up for lost time since returning March 14 by providing two goals and six points over his last four contests. The 30-year-old is up to 12 goals and 35 points in 60 outings this season. He's just four points shy of his 2021-22 total despite playing in 17 fewer games.... See More ... See Less -
Islanders' Jean-Gabriel Pageau: Slides assist in win
Pageau provided an assist, two shots on goal, three blocked shots and a plus-2 rating in Wednesday's 6-3 win over the Ducks. Pageau reached the 20-assist mark when he set up Zach Parise's third-period tally. With a goal and an assist in two games since returning from an upper-body injury, Pageau is right back in good form after slumping prior to his absence. He has 31 points, 100 shots on net, 144 hits, 52 blocked shots and a minus-7 rating through 58 contests.... See More ... See Less -
Islanders' Jean-Gabriel Pageau: Gets goal in return
Pageau scored a goal and blocked two shots in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Kings. Pageau returned to the lineup after missing 12 games with an upper-body injury. His 13:39 of ice time suggests he'll be eased back into action, especially since this was the first half of a back-to-back. The Islanders should appreciate having their all-situations center back in action. He's at 11 goals, 30 points, 98 shots on net, 143 hits, 49 blocked shots and a minus-9 rating through 57 appearances.... See More ... See Less -
Islanders' Jean-Gabriel Pageau: Removed from IR
Pageau (upper body) was activated from injured reserve ahead of Tuesday's game against Los Angeles, according to the NHL media site. Pageau was listed as a game-time decision following Tuesday's morning skate, per Andrew Gross of Newsday, but it's expected that he will return to the lineup against the Kings following a 12-game absence. Pageau has registered 10 goals, 29 points, 97 shots on net and 142 hits in 56 contests this campaign.... See More ... See Less -
Islanders' Jean-Gabriel Pageau: Misses practice Monday
Pageau (upper body) didn't practice Monday, Andrew Gross of Newsday reports. Pageau missed practice Monday due to personal reasons. Coach Lane Lambert stated after practice that Pageau could still play Tuesday as the team begins a three-game road trip in Los Angeles against the Kings. If Pageau needs another day, then perhaps he will return Wednesday in Anaheim. Pageau has missed the last 12 games due to the injury. When deemed healthy enough to play, he should return to his usual role, centering the third line.... See More ... See Less -
Islanders' Jean-Gabriel Pageau: Not playing Saturday
Pageau (upper body) will not play Saturday versus Washington, Andrew Gross of Newsday reports. Pageau has missed the last 11 games with the upper-body injury. He has 10 goals and 29 points in 56 games this season, but he had not found the back of the net in his last 17 games before the injury.... See More ... See Less -
Islanders' Jean-Gabriel Pageau: Remains day-to-day
Pageau (upper body) is still considered day-to-day and won't be in action versus Pittsburgh on Thursday. Pageau will miss his 11th consecutive game due to his upper-body issue but is making strides in his recovery. Prior to getting hurt, the 30-year-old center was stuck in a 17-game goal drought, though he did garner six helpers over that stretch.... See More ... See Less -
Islanders' Jean-Gabriel Pageau: Not ready to play
Pageau (upper body) wasn't quite ready to play Tuesday versus the Sabres, Andrew Gross of Newsday reports. There was some hope that Pageau would be able to play Tuesday after putting in a full practice Monday. Coach Lane Lambert stated that Pegeau is not day-to-day but didn't say whether or not he would play Thursday in Pittsburgh. Pageau has now missed 10 straight games due to the injury but is likely to return to his usual spot as the center for the third line when deemed healthy enough to play.... See More ... See Less -

Islanders' Jean-Gabriel Pageau: Resumes skating

Pageau won't play Tuesday versus the Wild, but he could be an option for Saturday versus the Red Wings. The 30-year-old will miss his eighth straight game Tuesday.... See More ... See Less -
Islanders' Jean-Gabriel Pageau: Still not skating
Pageau (upper body) has yet to resume skating, Andrew Gross of Newsday reports. Pageau will miss a fifth straight contest Wednesday against the Jets, and at this point there's no telling when he might be ready to return. Islanders' Jean-Gabriel Pageau: Placed on injured reserve

He was held off the scoresheet in his previous seven games. Pageau also recorded a hit and a blocked shot Tuesday, bringing his season totals up to 141 and 47 respectively.... See More ... See Less -
Islanders' Jean-Gabriel Pageau: Goalless streak at 13 games
Pageau hasn't lit the lamp in his last 13 games. Pageau might be the definition of a player who parlayed a career season into a big contract. He had 26 goals during the 2019-20 campaign but hasn't scored more than 18 goals in any season since. It would seem that Pageau will remain at center as he is top five in the NHL in faceoff win percentage (Horvat is also top five). This would make one believe that either Mathew Barzal or Brock Nelson will be moved to the wing when the Islanders next play Monday versus the Flyers.... See More ... See Less -
Islanders' Jean-Gabriel Pageau: Supplies helper Friday
Pageau notched an assist, four hits and three blocked shots in Friday's 4-1 loss to the Flames. Pageau set up Zach Parise's goal in the first period. The 30-year-old center has 24 points (eight on the power play), 74 shots on net, 115 hits, 37 blocked shots and a minus-5 rating through 41 outings overall. He's on pace to top his career high of 43 points from 2015-16.... See More ... See Less
