  • Kings' Phillip Danault: Generates assist in win

Danault recorded an assist and four shots on goal in Tuesday's 5-1 win over the Blue Jackets.

Danault has hit a rough patch on offense with four points over his last 13 games. The center's role hasn't changed -- he remains on the second line, though that also comes with a large share of defensive responsibility. He's at 32 points, 110 shots on net, 52 hits, 44 blocked shots and a plus-6 rating through 54 appearances. Danault should be able to turn things around, but he's not a must-have center in fantasy given the depth of the position.

  • Kings' Phillip Danault: Logs big minutes on power play

Danault had 5:21 of power-play ice time, 19:16 overall, in Wednesday's 5-2 loss to Colorado.

Although LA did have five power-play opportunities Wednesday, it's nevertheless noteworthy that Danault logged more time with the man advantage Wednesday than he did in any contest during the 2022-23 campaign. With Pierre-Luc Dubois, who was acquired by LA from Winnipeg over the summer, centering the second line, Danault has started the campaign as the Kings' third-line center. However, if Wednesday's contest is any indication, the 30-year-old Danualt should continue to play a meaningful role when his team is a man up. That's important for Danault's offensive production -- 20 of his 54 points last season were recorded with the man advantage while averaging 2:04 of time on the power play.

Danault notched an assist and four shots on goal in Wednesday's 5-2 loss to the Avalanche.

Danault set a career high with 54 points in 82 outings last season, but the addition of Pierre-Luc Dubois figures to impact Danault's usage. In Wednesday's season opener, it was Danault getting on the scoresheet with the lone helper on a Carl Grundstrom tally. While a limited role is possible, Danault still has the potential to be productive with one of the deeper offenses in the league. In addition to being a 20-goal threat, the 30-year-old center should remain a key contributor for blocked shots among forwards after stepping in front of 75 pucks last year.
