  • Capitals' Tom Wilson: Breaks up shutout bid

Wilson scored a goal on two shots, added two PIM and logged two hits in Saturday's 4-1 loss to the Golden Knights. Wilson scored with 3:14 left in the game to break up Logan Thompson's shutout bid. With four goals over his last two games, Wilson has found his shot during the Capitals' road trip out west. He's also been on the top line consistently in recent games, which helps his chances to produce offense. The heavy-hitting winger is up to eight goals, five assists, 62 shots on net, 59 hits, 45 PIM and a minus-5 rating through 21 appearances.

  • Capitals' Tom Wilson: Hat trick in 700th career game

Wilson recorded a hat trick on seven shots and added four PIM in Thursday's 5-4 win over the Ducks. Wilson celebrated his 700th career game in style with his first career hat trick. Two of his goals in the contest came on the power play. While he was limited to five tallies and two assists over 12 contests in November, this effort was an encouraging sign for Wilson's offense going forward. The power winger has seven goals, 12 points, 60 shots on net, 57 hits, 43 PIM and a minus-4 rating through 20 outings this season.

  • Capitals' Tom Wilson: Lights lamp Wednesday

Wilson tallied the game-tying goal, four shots, three hits and added five PIM during Wednesday's 4-3 overtime win over the Sabres. Wilson leveled the game at three a piece with just 1:15 left in the third period to snap a three-game point drought. Firmly entrenched on the top line, the 29-year-old continues to provide a well-rounded skillset that gives him broad appeal as a fantasy asset, so keep him rolling.

  • Capitals' Tom Wilson: Five points in last six games

Wilson scored a goal in a 2-1 win over the Blue Jackets on Saturday. He chipped a bouncing puck off the catching arm shoulder of Elvis Merzlikins to open the scoring in the first period. Wilson has a point in five of his last six games (three goals, two assists) and 20 shots in that span. Remarkably, he's tied with Dylan Strome for third in team scoring (six points), and he's ahead of Evgeny Kuznetsov, who has five. The Caps are a low-scoring team, but Wilson will get lots of looks as the top-line right winger beside Dylan Strome and Alex Ovechkin.

  • Capitals' Tom Wilson: Pots game-winner

Wilson tallied a goal, a plus-2 rating, five shots and seven hits during Sunday's 3-1 win over the Sharks. Wilson's go-ahead goal was the 300th point of his NHL career and powered the Capitals to their third consecutive win. The physical winger has meshed well with Alex Ovechkin and Dylan Strome on the top line, posting two goals and five points in his last six games. Wilson is re-establishing himself as a multi-category contributor after spending most of the 2022-23 season working back from knee surgery.

  • Capitals' Tom Wilson: Earns assist in win

Wilson recorded an assist, two hits and two blocked shots in Wednesday's 6-4 win over the Devils. Wilson has picked up an assist in three of his last four games. Wednesday also marked the first time this season he's avoided a trip to the penalty box. The rough-and-tumble winger is up to three points, 10 shots on net, 18 hits, five blocked shots, 22 PIM and a minus-2 rating through six outings. Head coach Spencer Carbery is still trying to find the most effective line combinations, but Wilson should remain in a top-six role with power-play time throughout the season.

Wilson posted an assist, two shots on goal, two hits and 11 PIM in Wednesday's 6-1 loss to the Senators. • Capitals' Tom Wilson: Inks seven-year contract extension

Wilson signed a seven-year, $45.5 million contract extension with Washington on Friday. Wilson has one season remaining on a six-year, $31.02 million contract he signed in July of 2018. The combative winger played in only 33 games last season, missing the first 42 games after offseason knee surgery. Wilson ended the season with 13 goals and 22 points. He ended the season on a high note with a four-game goal scoring streak. If he's able to stay relatively healthy, look for Wilson to contribute 20-plus goals, 40-plus points, at least 90 PIM and 200-plus hits in 2023-24.

Wilson collected two assists, one on the power play, in Sunday's 5-3 loss to Minnesota. Both points came in the third period as Washington tried in vain to rally from a 4-1 deficit. Wilson also added three shots, 10 PIM, two hits and a minus-1 rating to his ledger. The 28-year-old winger has been his usual rugged self when he's been on the ice this season -- he's played only 22 games but has eight goals, 13 points, 42 PIM and 69 hits, although his minus-17 rating would be by far a career worst.

  • Capitals' Tom Wilson: Tallies twice in overtime win

Wilson scored a pair of goals on seven shots and added a fighting major in Wednesday's 3-2 overtime win over the Ducks. Wilson put the Capitals ahead 2-1 early in the third period, then fought Nathan Beaulieu later in the frame. The 28-year-old Wilson needed some repairs after the bout, but he was able to return to the contest and score the game-winning goal 1:09 into overtime on a pass from T.J. Oshie. This was an example of Wilson at his absolute best for both the Capitals and fantasy managers. The winger has five goals and an assist over his last six games, and he's up to seven tallies, nine points, 30 shots on net, 26 PIM and 50 hits through 14 appearances overall.

  • Capitals' Tom Wilson: Scores goal in return from injury

Wilson (lower body) scored a goal in a 4-1 loss to the Hurricanes in the 2023 Navy Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series on Saturday. He had missed the previous seven games with that injury. Wilson scored the goal late in the game with a twirling forehanded shot from the bottom of the left circle, so whatever ailed his lower body seems to be fine. Get him back in your lineup. Wilson's abrasive power game plus offense is a rarity in today's NHL, and he can help in multiple categories.
