Nelson had two assists in a 4-3 win over the Panthers on Saturday. Both were secondary assists. The first came on Anders Lee's power-play marker in the first, and his second was on Pierre Engvall's second-period wrister that put the Isles up 2-1. The helpers were Nelson's first in four games, and first since a five-game, eight-point streak that started in the middle of November. He's slightly off his career 75-point pace from last season, but he is on pace for his third straight 30-plus goal campaign. Nelson is among the league's most underrated performers.... See More ... Nelson picked up two assists in Friday's 5-3 road win against the Senators. One of Nelson's helpers came on a power-play goal for Mathew Barzal midway through the second period. Nelson ended up with three shots on goal, one blocked shot and one hit in 16:38 of ice time. He also won just two of his six faceoff attempts. Nelson has picked up four goals and four assists during his five-game point streak. He'll look to extend the streak Saturday against the visiting Flyers.... See More ... See Less -
Islanders' Brock Nelson: Four-game, six-point streak
Nelson scored two goals in a 3-2 win over the Flyers on Wednesday. Nelson scored the Isles' second goal at 13:10 of the second period when he redirected a point shot past Carter Hart. He tapped in a backdoor pass from Pierre Engvall at 2:33 of the third that stood as the winner. Don't look now, but Nelson is on a four-game, six-point streak that includes four goals. Overall, he has 10 goals and 14 points, and at this pace, Nelson could deliver his first 40-goal campaign.... See More ... See Less -
Islanders' Brock Nelson: Big jump in shots, goals
Nelson had a goal and an assist in a 5-4 shootout win over the Flames on Saturday. He's on a three-game, four-point streak (two goals, two assists). Nelson is far off his career pace of 75 points, which he set last season. But he has become a shooting machine, piling up 62 over 17 games, and that's translated into eight goals. Nelson's shooting percentage (12.9) is actually lower than his career average of 14.4, so theoretically, he should have a couple more snipes in him.... See More ... See Less -
Islanders' Brock Nelson: Strikes on power play
Nelson scored a power-play goal on three shots in Wednesday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Canucks. Nelson put the Islanders ahead 2-0 in the first period with his seventh goal of the season. However, the 32-year-old center has slowed down a bit with two tallies over his last six games. For the season, he's at nine points (two on the power play), 56 shots and a minus-5 rating through 15 contests.... See More ... See Less -
Islanders' Brock Nelson: Another two-point game
Nelson had a goal and an assist in a 3-0 win over Washington on Thursday. Nelson went five-hole from the bottom of the left circle on the rush at 11:15 of the third period. He has five goals on the season, but the assist was his first since Opening Night. Nelson is a classic late bloomer -- now 32, his best play has come since his 30th birthday. In the last two seasons, he put up 73 goals and 61 assists (154 games) and appears poised to hover around that type of production in 2023-24.... See More ... See Less -
Islanders' Brock Nelson: Contributes goal in loss
Nelson tallied a goal in a 4-3 overtime loss to Detroit on Monday. Nelson brought his four-game scoring drought to an end. He has four goals and five points in eight contests this year. That's not bad, though his current offensive pace is behind last year, when he recorded 75 points in 82 outings. That was by far the 32-year-old's best campaign -- his next highest point total in 59 in 2021-22 -- and it wouldn't be surprising if he finishes shy of his career high this season.... See More ... Nelson scored a pair of goals in Friday's 5-4 overtime loss against the Devils. Nelson finished the evening with a plus-3 rating and five shots on goal while winning nine of his 15 faceoff opportunities in 19:29 of ice time. Islanders' Brock Nelson: Scores twice in must-win game
Nelson scored two goals in Wednesday's 4-2 win over Montreal. Nelson has been the Islanders' best offensive player all season, so it's fitting that he led the way as the team secured a playoff spot in its final game of the regular season. He opened the scoring in the first period, then gave the Islanders a 3-1 lead in the second with what proved to be the game-winner. The two goals bumped Nelson's season total up to 36, and he added 39 assists to set a new career high of 75 points.... See More ... See Less -

It was his 34th goal and 73rd point in 80 contests this season. He's just three markers away from his career high, which was set in 2021-22, but there's only two games remaining on the Islanders' schedule. Nelson seems to be ending the campaign on a hot streak, providing two goals and four points over his last two outings.... See More ... See Less -

Islanders' Brock Nelson: Lights lamp twice in OT loss
Nelson scored two goals, one on the power play, on a team-high six shots in Friday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Blue Jackets. His second tally of the game midway through the third period tied the score at 4-4 and earned the Islanders a point, but it was still an ugly performance overall for the team. It's Nelson's second two-goal effort in the last four games, and he now has 32 tallies and a career-high 67 points through 73 games on the season.... See More ... See Less -
Islanders' Brock Nelson: Expects to play Friday
Nelson (face) is slated to play in Friday's matchup with Columbus, Stefen Rosner of The Hockey News reports. Nelson appears set to return to action without missing any additional game time after being forced off versus Toronto on Tuesday after playing just 4:46 of ice time. With Nelson available, he figures to offer decent fantasy value considering he has already set personal bests in assists (35) and points (65) this year while also hitting the 30-goal mark for the second straight year....
