  • Kraken's Brian Dumoulin: Earns helper in 600th game

Dumoulin registered an assist and two shots on goal in Thursday's 5-2 win over the Canucks. Dumoulin played in his 600th career game Thursday, and he celebrated by setting up Justin Schultz's second-period goal, which was the game-winner. Dumoulin's never been a huge scorer -- he has just 151 points in his career. He's been fairly quiet with 12 points, 44 shots on net, 54 hits, 53 blocked shots and a plus-5 rating through 54 appearances in 2023-24, playing mainly on the third pairing.

Dumoulin (lower body) won't play Tuesday versus the Islanders, Alison Lukan of Root Sports reports. Dumoulin sustained the injury in the first period of Monday's game versus the Devils. Ryker Evans will remain in the lineup on a pairing with Justin Schultz, who returned from a personal absence Tuesday.

Dumoulin scored a goal on three shots in Friday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Blues. Dumoulin tied the game at 1-1 in the first period with his second goal and fifth point over the last nine games. The 32-year-old hasn't found a ton of success this season, but he's been solid on the third pairing lately. Overall, the defenseman has four goals -- one off his career high -- with seven assists, 37 shots on net, 41 hits, 44 blocked shots and a plus-5 rating over 47 appearances.

  • Kraken's Brian Dumoulin: Lends assist in Wednesday's win

Dumoulin notched an assist, two shots on goal, two hits, two blocked shots and a plus-3 rating in Wednesday's 6-2 win over the Blackhawks. Dumoulin broke a four-game slump with a primary assist on Brandon Tanev's second-period marker. With four points in January, Dumoulin has enjoyed his most productive month of the season. The 32-year-old is at 10 points, 34 shots on net, 40 hits, 44 blocked shots and a plus-4 rating over 46 outings. He'll need to stay sharp at both ends of the ice to avoid losing playing time to Ryker Evans.

  • Kraken's Brian Dumoulin: Rare two-point effort

Dumoulin scored a goal and added an assist in Saturday's 7-4 win over the Blue Jackets. Dumoulin's goal came out of a cannon at 8:28 of the third period, snuffing out any hope Columbus had for a comeback. Dumoulin has three points over his last two games, matching his total from the previous 28 contests. For the season, the defenseman is at nine points, 30 shots on net, 31 hits, 38 blocked shots and a plus-1 rating through 41 appearances. He's holding onto a third-pairing spot, and with the Kraken winning, it's unlikely Ryker Evans will get a chance to pry it away from Dumoulin anytime soon.

Dumoulin notched an assist in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Sabres. Dumoulin snapped an eight-game point drought with his helper. The 32-year-old has seen steady time on the third pairing this season, but he's likely on notice with Ryker Evans accompanying the Kraken on their current road trip. • Kraken's Brian Dumoulin: Picks up assist

Dumoulin notched an assist and a plus-3 rating in Thursday's 7-1 win over the Blackhawks. Dumoulin snapped an eight-game point drought with the helper. The 32-year-old was scratched Dec. 9, shortly after the call-up of Ryker Evans, but Justin Schultz's (upper body) absence has allowed Dumoulin to remain in the lineup recently. Things could get crowded when the Kraken's defense is fully healthy. Dumoulin hasn't exactly impressed with six points, 22 shots on net, 25 hits, 32 blocked shots and a minus-2 rating over 30 appearances in his first year with Seattle.

  • Kraken's Brian Dumoulin: Chips in with helper

Dumoulin notched an assist in Wednesday's 7-1 win over the Sharks. Dumoulin snapped a nine-game point drought with the helper on Eeli Tolvanen's first of two goals in the third period. Offense remains sparse for Dumoulin, who has five points over 21 appearances. He's added 18 shots on net, 16 hits, 20 blocked shots and a minus-3 rating while playing on the third pairing. Despite the limited role and mediocre scoring, Dumoulin is not at risk of losing his place in the lineup to Jaycob Megna, at least for the time being.

  • Kraken's Brian Dumoulin: Scores first goal of season

Dumoulin found the back of the net in a 4-3 overtime win over Tampa Bay on Monday. It was Dumoulin's first goal and third point in 10 contests in 2023-24. His marker Monday put the Kraken on the board at 12:08 of the opening period. Dumoulin had a goal and 25 points in 82 contests last season, but it wouldn't be surprising to see him decline offensively this year. He averaged 20:38 of ice time with Pittsburgh last year and received just 15:50 per contest through his first nine outings with Seattle this campaign.

  • Penguins' Brian Dumoulin: Riding three-game point streak

Dumoulin enters the Penguins' bye week on a three-game point streak. Dumoulin is not exactly known for his offensive upside, having reached the 20-point mark just once in his NHL career. The 31-year-old defenseman has yet to score a goal this season and will likely be hard-pressed to extend his point streak when the Penguins return to action versus Colorado on Feb. 7.

  • Penguins' Brian Dumoulin: Dealing with knee injury

Dumoulin clarified that he suffered a grade-3 MCL tear in his knee during Game 1 against the Rangers on May 3, telling reporters Tuesday, "I injured my MCL. It was a grade-3 tear. It happened on that disallowed goal. My knee hit the post and hyperextended." Dumoulin had yet to begin skating before the Penguins were bounced from the playoffs and probably would have been hard-pressed to return even if the team had advanced. While the defenseman's shutdown capabilities make him a crucial piece of Pittsburgh's blue line, his lack of offensive upside doesn't translate well to the fantasy arena.

  • Penguins' Brian Dumoulin: Remains unavailable

Dumoulin (lower body) still hasn't begun skating and will miss Wednesday's clash with the Rangers. Coach Mike Sullivan told reporters, "Dumo hasn't skated yet, but he's making progress off the ice." At this point, Dumoulin should probably be considered out indefinitely given his continued absence from on-ice activities. In the meantime, Mike Matheson should continue to see additional minutes while Mark Friedman will continue suiting up on the Penguins' third pairing.

  • Penguins' Brian Dumoulin: Still not skating

Dumoulin (lower body) has yet to resume skating and won't be available versus the Rangers for Game 4 on Monday, Mike DeFabo of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports. While the team continues to label Dumoulin day-to-day, the fact that he isn't skating yet doesn't seem to bode well for a Game 5 return Wednesday either. Without Dumoulin in the lineup, the Pens have paired up Mike Matheson with Kris Letang, which does seem to be putting all their offensive eggs in one basket. Mark Friedman has stepped into the lineup as well, though Nathan Beaulieu could also see some minutes depending on how long Dumoulin is out.
