Jets' Eric Comrie: Burned by Flames
Comrie turned aside 19 of 21 shots in Saturday's 3-1 loss to Calgary, with the Flames' final goal getting scored into an empty net.
The Jets actually out-shot the visitors 39-22 and mostly dominated play, but their offense had trouble solving Dustin Wolf and Comrie had little chance on the two pucks that got past him -- one a rocket by Matthew Coronato in the first period, and the other a power-play tally by Andrei Kuzmenko. Comrie hasn't picked up a win since Nov. 1, but he hasn't played poorly as Connor Hellebuyck's infrequently used backup, posting a 2.66 GAA and .906 save percentage in five outings since the beginning of December.

Comrie handled the first half of a back-to-back for the first time this season, but he was unable to snap his losing streak. This was at least a good showing from the goalie, though the same can't be said for the Jets' offense, which was held in check by the Kings' firm defense. Comrie is now 3-6-1 with a 2.94 GAA and a .904 save percentage. Expect Connor Hellebuyck to start Saturday at home versus the Avalanche, and he may see steady playing time next week as well -- it's not unusual for Hellebuyck to start four or five games in a row, though Comrie has not had to wait more than 13 days between starts.

Jets' Eric Comrie: Set to start Friday
Comrie was the first goalie off and is slated to guard the cage at home against the Kings on Friday, John Lu of TSN reports.
While Connor Hellebuyck normally takes the first game of a back-to-back, it seems the coaching staff wants to save him for Saturday's matchup with the division-rival Avalanche. As such, it figures to be Comrie's crease heading into Friday's contest. The 29-year-old Edmonton native is mired in a six-game losing streak during which he posted a 3.25 GAA and an .898 save percentage. Given his struggles, fantasy players probably shouldn't expect to see Comrie in the crease outside of back-to-backs.

Jets' Eric Comrie: Can't snap skid

Comrie did a good job of keeping it close, but Casey Mittelstadt's third-period tally was the difference. This was Comrie's sixth straight loss, and he's given up a total of 19 goals in that span.
