Hayes scored a goal and dished out an assist in Thursday's 6-4 win over the Sabres. Hayes is skating on the second line and the second power-play unit. He has put forth modest returns with 11 points and 34 shots on net through 22 games. The 31-year-old forward won't be easy to depend on for fantasy purposes with 14:40 of ice time per game, but it wouldn't be surprising if he improved a bit considering he posted 54 points -- 16 with the man advantage -- through 81 games last year.... Blues' Kevin Hayes: Notches game-winning goal
Hayes scored the game-winning goal in a 6-5 road win against the Coyotes on Wednesday. Hayes beat backup Connor Ingram at 4:13 of the third period to give the Blues the lead, and there were no additional markers. He ended up with three shots on goal with a hit, and he won an amazing 15 faceoff attempts in 19 tries in his 15:14 of ice time across 21 shifts. It's hard to believe, but Wednesday's point coupled with his assist in Anaheim on Sunday means Hayes has strung together points in consecutive games for the first time this season.... See More ... Blues' Kevin Hayes: Draws assist
Hayes recorded an assist and two shots on goal in Tuesday's 5-0 win over the Lightning. Hayes earned a helper on a Jakub Vrana tally in the second period. The assist was Hayes' first point in five games. The center is up to six points, 15 shots on net, eight PIM and a plus-2 rating through 14 contests. The Blues haven't scored a lot early in the season -- though their offense can be explosive at times. That's left Hayes on the periphery for point production in a third-line role.... See More ... Blues' Kevin Hayes: Records helper in win
Hayes logged an assist in Thursday's 3-0 win over the Flames. Hayes has struggled early in the season, logging two assists through his first six outings with the Blues. He was on the third line Thursday in an 11-forward, seven-defensemen lineup. The 31-year-old's non-scoring numbers haven't been particularly useful either -- he's at four shots on net, three hits, one blocked shots, a plus-2 rating and two PIM. With a lackluster role on a low-scoring team, Hayes is likely best left on the waiver wire in fantasy.... See More ... See Less -
Blues' Kevin Hayes: Sent to Blues
St. Louis acquired Hayes from Philadelphia on Tuesday in exchange for a sixth-round pick in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft. Hayes still has three seasons left on his seven-year, $50 million contract. The Flyers will retain 50 percent of the deal. The 31-year-old forward registered 18 goals and 54 points in 81 games during the 2022-23 campaign. Hayes will add some additional scoring punch to St. Louis' middle-six forward group.... See More ... See Less -
Flyers' Kevin Hayes: Ends scoring drought in loss
Hayes scored a goal on two shots in Thursday's 4-1 loss to the Stars. Hayes scored Philadelphia's only goal in the losing effort, firing a sharp-angle shot past Jake Oettinger in the second period. It's Hayes' first goal since Feb. 11, ending a prolonged 23-game drought. The 30-year-old center has 18 goals and 54 points through 77 games this season.... See More ... See Less -
Flyers' Kevin Hayes: Two helpers against Buffalo
Hayes collected two assists in Friday's 5-2 win over the Sabres, Both helpers came in the second period as the Flyers built a 4-0 lead. Hayes hadn't scored a goal in 14 straight games, managing only four assists over that stretch, but despite the slump he's still only four points shy of tying the career-high 55 he set in 2018-19.... Flyers' Kevin Hayes: Logs helper Tuesday
Hayes provided an assist, three shots on goal and two hits in Tuesday's 4-2 loss to the Oilers. Hayes snapped a four-game point drought with his assist on an Owen Tippett tally in the second period. During that span, Hayes went minus-8. He was back at his natural center position after head coach John Tortorella gave the Flyers' lines a thorough shuffling to adjust to Travis Konecny's (upper body) absence. The 30-year-old Hayes has 17 goals, 31 assists, 164 shots on net and a minus-15 rating through 58 contests this season.... See More ... See Less -
Flyers' Kevin Hayes: Supplies only offense in OT loss
Hayes scored his 17th goal of the season in Saturday's 2-1 overtime loss to the Predators. The 30-year-old tied the game midway through the second period, tucking the puck inside the post to finish off a clean breakaway from the Nashville blue line. Unfortunately for the Flyers, Hayes was the only player able to solve Juuse Saros on the afternoon. Since the beginning of January, Hayes has racked up eight goals and 17 points in 17 games, and he's doing an excellent job of boosting his trade value should Philly elect to move him before the deadline.... Flyers' Kevin Hayes: Nets 16th goal of 2022-23
Hayes supplied a goal in Philadelphia's 2-1 shootout win over Edmonton on Thursday. Hayes opened the scoring at 7:50 of the first period. He's improved to 16 goals and 46 points in 52 games this season. Hayes was held off the scoresheet in his previous two contests, but before that he recorded five goals and eight points over six games from Jan. 17-26.... See More ... See Less -
Flyers' Kevin Hayes: Provides pair of power-play goals
Hayes scored two power-play goals in Philadelphia's 5-3 loss to Winnipeg on Sunday. Hayes has 15 goals and 43 points in 47 games, including 15 points with the man advantage. This was his third multi-goal game of the season, including his hat trick during Tuesday's 5-2 win over Arizona. Hayes has five goals and six points over his last four contests.... See More ... Flyers' Kevin Hayes: Records hat trick in win
Hayes scored three goals in Tuesday's 5-2 victory over the Ducks. Hayes opened the scoring with a power-play goal in the first period. He'd add a second tally early in the third, finishing a feed from Scott Laughton, before burying an empty-netter to complete the hat trick. It's an encouraging performance from Hayes, who had just one goal in his previous 16 contests. The 30-year-old forward now has 38 points (11 goals, 27 assists) through 44 games this season.... Flyers' Kevin Hayes: Provides three points Thursday
Hayes recorded a goal and two assists in a 6-2 win against Arizona on Thursday. All three of Hayes' points were recorded in a 4:56 span during the second period. He has 10 goals and 35 points in 38 contests this season. This was Hayes' second straight multi-point game.... See More ... See Less -
Flyers' Kevin Hayes: Contributes two helpers
Hayes notched a pair of assists, three shots on goal and a plus-2 rating in Monday's 4-1 win over the Ducks. Hayes hasn't done much since he was a healthy scratch Dec. 17 versus the Rangers. He's picked up three assists over his last six games, and his last goal came Dec. 7 against the Capitals. The 30-year-old has also seen a reduced role, playing mainly on the third line, which partly explains his scoring slump. Hayes has nine tallies, 23 helpers, 100 shots on net and a minus-11 rating through 37 contests, but he'll have to make a significant improvement in his overall play to regain the trust of head coach John Tortorella.... Flyers' Kevin Hayes: Will not play Saturday
Hayes will not be in the Flyers' lineup Saturday against the Rangers, Jordan Hall of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports. Hayes was benched by coach John Tortorella during the third period Thursday, as Tortorella was not pleased with a penalty Hayes took in the first period and a bad turnover that led to a goal in the second against New Jersey. Tortorella would not give a reason why Hayes would sit Saturday. Tortorella is not afraid to bench anyone, even his leading scorer, as Hayes has 29 points in 31 games this season.... See More ... Flyers' Kevin Hayes: Benched Thursday
Hayes did not see the ice in the third period Thursday. Hayes was benched by coach John Tortorella after he took a bad penalty in the opening period and made a bad turnover in the second. Tortorella won't hesitate to bench anyone at any time, even though Hayes leads the Flyers in points with 29 points in 31 games.... See More ... See Less -
Flyers' Kevin Hayes: Provides helper in loss
Hayes notched an assist and two shots on goal in Tuesday's 3-2 loss to the Avalanche. Hayes had gone without a point in the last two games, which was just his second multi-game drought. He snapped it with a helper on a James van Riemsdyk goal in the third period. Hayes has been one of the Flyers' most consistent forwards with nine goals, 20 helpers, 89 shots on net and a minus-12 rating in 30 contests, and he's often seen top-line usage. He's earned 10 power-play points and should continue to be a productive player as he looks to best his career high of 55 points from 2018-19.... See More ... See Less -
Flyers' Kevin Hayes: Adds two assists Monday
Hayes registered two assists in Monday's 5-3 win against Colorado. Hayes has three goals and eight points in his last six contests, bringing him up to eight markers and 27 points through 26 games this season. That's a big jump from 2021-22 when he finished with 10 goals and 31 points in 48 contests. His scoring pace might slow as the campaign progresses, but so far Hayes hasn't had any noteworthy cold streaks. The 30-year-old's only real slump was a three-game point drought from Oct. 29-Nov. 2.... See More ... See Less -
Flyers' Kevin Hayes: Scores twice in win
Hayes scored a pair of goals in Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Islanders. Hayes ripped a shot off an offensive-zone faceoff over the left shoulder of Ilya Sorokin to give Philadelphia a 2-1 lead midway through the first period. The 30-year-old forward would add a second tally with an empty netter in the third. Hayes has logged at least one point in 11 of his last 13 contests with seven goals and seven assists in that span. He now has eight goals and 16 assists through 23 games this season.... See More ... See Less -
Flyers' Kevin Hayes: Dishes pair of helpers
Hayes logged two assists and five shots on goal in Saturday's 5-2 loss to the Islanders. Hayes was listed as the third-line right wing Saturday after playing much of the year at center. He worked with Lukas Sedlak and Joel Farabee in the contest, and it was Hayes who set up both of his linemates for goals. Over his last 12 outings, Hayes has five goals and seven assists as one of the most consistent Philadelphia forwards. He's up to 22 points (six tallies, 16 helpers), 57 shots on net and a minus-10 rating in 22 games this season.... See More ... See Less
