Middleton was held without a point over his last five appearances, but he bounced back with a multi-point performance Monday, his second over seven outings since returning from a hand injury. The 29-year-old has had spotty production this season, but he's still on pace to surpass his offensive numbers from the 2023-24 campaign, as he's logged seven goals and 10 assists while averaging 21:07 of ice time over 36 contests in the 2024-25 season.

Wild's Jake Middleton: Shines in return to lineup
Middleton recorded a goal and an assist in Tuesday's 6-4 win over the Blues. He also notched three shots on goal, three hits and a blocked shot.
Middleton stepped onto the ice for the first time since Dec. 12 due to a hand injury, and there's no question he made his presence felt on both ends of the ice. He set up the Wild's opening goal, courtesy of Zach Bogosian just 1:23 into the game, and Middleton the back of the net later in the third frame. This was his second multi-point game of the campaign.

Middleton (hand) was activated from long-term injured reserve Tuesday, Michael Russo of The Athletic reports.
Middleton will return to the lineup against St. Louis on Tuesday after missing the last 11 games. He has accounted for five goals, 13 points, 44 shots on net, 76 blocked shots and 42 hits in 29 appearances this season. Middleton will replace Travis Dermott in Tuesday's lineup.

Wild's Jake Middleton: Closing in on return
Head coach John Hynes said Monday that Middleton's (hand) return to game action is "imminent," Jessi Pierce of NHL.com reports.
Middleton has been on long-term injured reserve since mid-December due to a hand injury, but he's close to returning to game action. Whether the 29-year-old will be available for Tuesday's home matchup against the Blues remains to be seen, but it wouldn't be surprising to at least see him back in action sometime in the first half of January.

Middleton sustained a hand injury during Thursday's game against the Oilers and will be forced to miss multiple weeks after his move to LTIR on Friday. The defenseman may require surgery to address his injury, per Michael Russo of The Athletic. Over his first 29 appearances of the season, Middleton had racked up five goals, eight assists, 76 blocked shots, 42 hits and 15 PIM while averaging 20:36 of ice time. Cameron Crotty could see some playing time in the near future, while Jonas Brodin (upper body) resumed skating this week.

Middleton's improbably good start to the campaign continued when he set up Brock Faber's go-ahead goal in the third period. The helper gave Middleton a five-game point streak (one goal, six assists), which is the longest streak of his career. He's up to eight points, 15 shots on net, 15 hits, 31 blocked shots and a plus-9 rating over 10 contests. At this point, he's worth a look in standard fantasy formats, and he'll return solid value in formats that reward non-scoring production throughout the campaign.
