Chartier signed a one-year, two-way contract with Ottawa on Saturday. Chartier played six games with Ottawa last season, but he failed to hit the scoresheet over that span. Chartier did, however, have success at AHL Belleville last year, finding the back of the net 20 times and adding eight assists in 40 games.... See More ... See Less

Senators' Rourke Chartier: Sent to AHL
Chartier (upper body) was loaned to AHL Belleville on Monday, per the AHL transaction page. Chartier, who had been out with an injury since Dec. 22, appears to be ready to resume playing again. He has eight shots on goal, three blocks and 10 hits in six games with Ottawa.... See More ... See Less -
Senators' Rourke Chartier: Lands on IR
Per the NHL media site, Chartier has been placed on IR with an upper-body injury. Now that he's on injured reserve, Chartier will miss Ottawa's next two games at a minimum. He's gone scoreless through six top-level appearances this season, so his absence shouldn't impact any fantasy lineups.... See More ... See Less -
Senators' Rourke Chartier: Exits Thursday's game
Chartier (upper body) suffered an upper-body injury and won't return to Thursday's game versus the Capitals. Chartier and Tyler Motte (upper body) both exited the game after the first period, leaving the Senators with just 10 forwards active. Derick Brassard could draw in if both Chartier and Motte are out for Tuesday's game versus the Bruins, but the Senators may also require reinforcements from AHL Belleville.... See More ... See Less -
Senators' Rourke Chartier: Makes long-awaited return to NHL
Chartier earned a plus-1 rating during Monday's 3-0 victory over the visiting Ducks. Competing in an NHL game for the first time since Nov. 15, 2018, the 2014 fifth-round draft pick was recalled from AHL Belleville on Monday and opened on the third line with Tyler Motte and Parker Kelly. Chartier, who is still searching for his first career assist, contributed two shots and one hit in 11:26 of ice time against the Ducks.... See More ... See Less -
Senators' Rourke Chartier: Shuttles back to minors
Chartier was reassigned to AHL Belleville on Saturday. Chartier was called up for the Senators' preseason finale, but he'll now resume his preparation for the AHL campaign with Belleville. If he performs well in the bus league, he could earn a call-up during the season.... See More ... See Less -
Senators' Rourke Chartier: Called up Saturday
Chartier was called up from AHL Belleville on Saturday, per TSN 1200 Ottawa. Chartier will draw into Saturday's preseason game versus the Canadiens, as Mathieu Joseph (undisclosed) is sidelined. The 26-year-old Chartier is still unlikely to make the Opening Night roster for the Senators, but he'll get one more chance to prove himself in front of the coaching staff.... See More ... See Less -
Senators' Rourke Chartier: Waived for AHL demotion

Ian Mendes@ian_mendes2D agoA playoff spot is well within reach for the Senators. This season — unlike ones in years past — is not over in late November. But until this team commits to playing a style of hockey that is detail-oriented, they’re destined to be stuck in the middle. https://t.co/PRbCIz8eSu

Ian Mendes@ian_mendes14D agoIn the least surprising news ever, 50-year-old Daniel Alfredsson won the Senators team padel tourney today. (It’s a racket sport mixing tennis/squash). I’ll have more on that, plus conversations with Jason Priestley, Nick Lidstrom and more in my notebook column from Stockholm.
