Chychrun scored an even-strength goal and added a power-play assist in Wednesday's 6-3 win over the Maple leafs. He also chipped in two shots on goal, two PIM, one blocked shot and an impressive plus-4 rating. Chychrun tied the score at 3-3 midway through the second period on a one-timer from the top of the faceoff circle to the right of Joseph Woll, then the blueliner helped set up Dominik Kubalik for the game-winner in the third. Chychrun has had a strong start to his first full season in Ottawa, finding the scoresheet in eight of 11 games and piling up five goals and 11 points.... See More ... See Less

Senators' Jakob Chychrun: Adds fourth goal
Chychrun scored a goal on a team-high nine shots in Thursday's 3-2 loss to the Islanders. Chychrun did his best to spur the Senators' offense Thursday, logging nine shots in a team-high 28:12 of action, including 5:24 on the power play. He tied the game 2-2 in the second period, firing a wrister through traffic that snuck by Ilya Sorokin. The 25-year-old Chychrun now has goals in back-to-back games and is up to seven points (four goals, three assists) through seven games to start his first full season with Ottawa.... See More ... Senators' Jakob Chychrun: Three-point effort against Flyers
Chychrun scored two goals, one on the power play, and added a power-play assist in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Flyers. The former Coyote was all over the scoresheet with three shots, two blocked shots, two PIM, one hit and a plus-2 rating, and Chychrun wired home the first two goals of the game to set the Sens toward their first win of the season. The 25-year-old blueliner is seeing a big role with the man advantage so far, and after managing only two goals and five points over 12 games with Ottawa in 2022-23, Chychrun appears much more comfortable with his new team to kick off the current campaign.... Senators' Jakob Chychrun: Ready to rock
Chychrun (hamstring) will be ready for the start of training camp, TSN 1200 Ottawa reports. Chychrun missed the final 10 games of the 2022-23 season because of a hamstring injury. In 48 appearances between Arizona and Ottawa last season, he supplied nine goals, 24 assists, 144 shots on net and 83 blocked shots. Chychrun is slated to play on the top pairing with Thomas Chabot (wrist) during his first full campaign with the Senators in 2023-24.... See More ... See Less -
Senators' Jakob Chychrun: Done for season
Chychrun (hamstring) will not suit up again this season, Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun reports. Chychrun suffered the injury against Tampa Bay on March 23 and was given a 2-3 week timeframe for his return. The Senators don't want to rush back the oft-injured blueliner, so look for Chychrun to be ready to go in September for training camp. He ends the season with seven goals and 24 assists in 48 games split between Ottawa and Arizona.... See More ... See Less -
Senators' Jakob Chychrun: Out 2-3 weeks
Chychrun will be out of action for 2-3 weeks due to a hamstring injury, TSN 1200 Ottawa reports. Chychrun could be sidelined for the rest of the 2022-23 season. He sat out Saturday's 5-3 loss to New Jersey after missing Friday's practice. The 24-year-old blueliner has picked up two goals, five points, 30 shots on net, 27 blocked shots and 12 hits in 12 games with Ottawa since being acquired from Arizona on March 1.... See More ... Senators' Jakob Chychrun: Out for a couple of weeks
Chychrun (lower body) is expected to miss a couple of weeks, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports. Chychrun was injured in Thursday's big 7-2 win over Tampa Bay. He has nine goals and 24 assists in 48 games split between Arizona and Ottawa this season.... See More ... See Less -
Senators' Jakob Chychrun: Doubtful against New Jersey
Chychrun (undisclosed) is considered doubtful to play Saturday versus the Devils, Steve Lloyd of TSN 1200 Ottawa reports. Unless the Senators release another update indicating otherwise prior to puck drop, at this point it's safe to assume Chychrun won't be available Saturday. With Chychrun set to be sidelined, look for Nick Holden to draw into the lineup against New Jersey.... See More ... See Less -
Senators' Jakob Chychrun: One of each Thursday
Chychrun scored a goal on three shots and added an assist in Thursday's 5-4 win over the Kraken. Chychrun was involved in the Senators' first two goals. He's picked up a pair of multi-point efforts across his first four games with his new team. The 24-year-old defenseman is up to nine tallies, 32 points, 123 shots on net, 64 blocked shots, 47 hits and a plus-10 rating through 40 appearances this season. He's on the third pairing at even strength, but the Senators' blue line remains somewhat fluid to allow Chychrun a bit more ice time than that role would suggest.... See More ... See Less -
Senators' Jakob Chychrun: Scores first points as a Senator
Chychrun scored a goal and an assist on two shots, fueling the Senators to a 5-2 win over the Blue Jackets on Saturday. Chychrun scored his first goal as a Senator with a wrist shot from the top of the faceoff circle that beat Elvis Merzlikins to give Ottawa a 4-1 lead. He would also add an assist on Tim Stutzle's goal in the first period. On the season, Chychrun has eight goals and 30 points in 38 games.... See More ... See Less -
Senators' Jakob Chychrun: Mistake-free debut in new uniform
Chychrun played 19:16 and finished plus-1 in a 5-3 win over the Rangers on Thursday. It was his Senators debut. Chychrun was solid in his debut and didn't really stand out. That's pretty good for a guy who hasn't practiced with his new team or even played in about three weeks. Ottawa has been Chychrun's second home for a long time -- his dad is from the city, and his grandfather and sister live there. So pulling on a Sens jersey is like a dream come true for him. Chychrun will likely soon find his footing and his offense alongside the emerging young powerhouse in Canada's capital.... See More ... See Less -
Senators' Jakob Chychrun: Debuting Thursday
Chychrun will play on the third pairing in his Senators debut Thursday versus the Rangers, per TSN 1200 Ottawa. Chychrun was acquired from the Coyotes on Wednesday after an eight-game absence for asset protection. The 24-year-old defenseman appears set to be eased in with his new team, though it's expected he'll also see some power-play time.... See More ... See Less -
Senators' Jakob Chychrun: Dealt to Ottawa
Chychrun was traded from the Coyotes to the Senators on Wednesday in exchange for a 2023 first-round pick, a 2024 second-round pick (via the Capitals) and a second-round pick in 2026. The biggest blue-line target for the trade deadline is now on the move, as Chychrun will join a Senators team on the upswing. The first two picks are conditional -- the 2023 first-rounder is top-five protected, and the 2024 second-rounder could become a first if the Senators make the Eastern Conference Finals this season. It's unclear if Chychrun will be ready to play Thursday versus the Rangers after the Coyotes scratched him for the last eight games, but he could be in line to debut Saturday versus the Blue Jackets. The 24-year-old defenseman has 28 points in 36 contests this season, and he joins a defense corps that also features Thomas Chabot and Jake Sanderson at its core.... See More ... See Less -
Coyotes' Jakob Chychrun: Continues to sit
Chychrun will continue to sit as a healthy scratch for trade-related reasons Wednesday versus Calgary, Craig Morgan of PHNX Sports reports. The Coyotes aren't going to risk Chychrun suffering an injury prior to the trade deadline, so at this point it's probably safe to assume he won't see game action until he's wearing a new team's sweater. In the highly unlikely event Arizona is unable to come to terms with another team on a trade for Chychrun, he should return to action following the March 3 deadline date.... See More ... See Less -
Coyotes' Jakob Chychrun: Won't play this week
Chychrun (not injury related) won't play this week, per Todd Walsh of Bally Sports Arizona. The Coyotes play eight times, including a matchup with Nashville on Monday, before the March 3 trade deadline. If he isn't moved before then, Chychrun could be sitting for a little while longer. He has accounted for seven goals, 28 points, 114 shots on goal, 56 blocks and 43 hits in 36 contests this campaign.... See More ... See Less -
Coyotes' Jakob Chychrun: Game-time decision
Chychrun (not injury related) will be a game-time decision Monday against Nashville, Craig Morgan of PHNX Sports reports. Chychrun did not take part in Monday's morning skate. He was a healthy scratch Saturday against St. Louis for trade-related reasons. It wouldn't be a surprise if he ended up sitting again Monday. Chychrun has amassed 28 points, 114 shots on goal, 56 blocks and 43 hits in 36 games this season.... See More ... See Less -
Coyotes' Jakob Chychrun: Scratched for trade reasons
Chychrun will be a healthy scratch Saturday versus St. Louis for what the Coyotes called "trade-related reasons." Chychrun has seven goals, 28 points, 43 hits and 56 blocks in 36 games while averaging 23:16 of ice time this season. It's not guaranteed that Chychrun will be traded in the near future, but the Coyotes' statement certainly makes it sound like they are at least close to moving him. Toronto, Boston, LA, Florida and Edmonton are among the teams that have been previously cited as potential destinations for the 24-year-old. Meanwhile, Dysin Mayo was summoned from AHL Tucson on Saturday.... See More ... See Less -
Coyotes' Jakob Chychrun: Logs helper in overtime loss
Chychrun notched an assist, three shots on goal and a plus-2 rating in Friday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Blackhawks. Chychrun set up Clayton Keller's tally just 1:28 into the game. The helper was Chychrun's third point in two games since the All-Star break. The 24-year-old defenseman has the spotlight all to himself on the Coyotes' blue line with Shayne Gostisbehere (upper body) out, and Chychrun is making the most of it. He has seven goals, 21 helpers, 114 shots on net, 56 blocked shots, 43 hits and a plus-8 rating through 36 appearances.... See More ... See Less -
Coyotes' Jakob Chychrun: Scores twice in win

His first tally Monday came on a power play in the second period. The 24-year-old defenseman had gone 14 games without a goal, though he did have seven assists in that span. For the season, he's at seven tallies, 27 points (seven on the power play), 111 shots on net, 55 blocked shots, 43 hits, 22 PIM and a plus-6 rating through 35 appearances.... See More ... See Less -
Coyotes' Jakob Chychrun: Reaches 20-assist mark
Chychrun logged a power-play assist, four shots on goal, three blocked shots and a minus-2 rating in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Ducks. These were Chychrun's first power-play points since Jan. 3. He's still been productive with seven helpers over his last nine contests, and his assist Tuesday was his 20th of the campaign. He's up to 25 points (six on the power play), 100 shots on net, 52 blocked shot,s 42 hits and a plus-3 rating through 32 outings overall.... See More ... See Less

Ian Mendes@ian_mendes10D agoA playoff spot is well within reach for the Senators. This season — unlike ones in years past — is not over in late November. But until this team commits to playing a style of hockey that is detail-oriented, they’re destined to be stuck in the middle. https://t.co/PRbCIz8eSu
