DeBrincat had a goal and an assist Saturday in a 5-4 overtime win over the Canadiens. The goal was his 200th of his career. It came on the power play early in the second period, when he set up below the left circle and one-timed a shot between Jake Allen's pads to finish off a three-way passing play. DeBrincat (473 games) became the fourth active U.S.-born player to score 200 goals in fewer than 500 games, joining Auston Matthews of the Maple Leafs (338 games), Kyle Connor of the Jets (429) and Jake Guentzel of the Penguins (463).... Red Wings' Alex DeBrincat: Two points in Friday's win
DeBrincat scored a goal and added an assist in Friday's 5-2 win over the Bruins. The 25-year-old winger gave Detroit a 2-0 lead late in the first period before helping to set up what proved to be the game-winner by Robby Fabbri in the second. DeBrincat extended his point streak to five games with the performance, and the two-time 40-goal scorer is off to a hot start in that department to kick off his tenure with the Red Wings, lighting the lamp 12 times in the first 19 games of 2023-24.... Red Wings' Alex DeBrincat: Keeps point streak alive in shutout
DeBrincat tacked on an assist in Wednesday's 4-0 win over the Devils. DeBrincat has crafted a four-game point streak featuring a pair of goals and helpers. Last week, his contributions weren't enough to put the Red Wings in position to win either of the contests held in Sweden for the Global Series, but those rostering KItty should have no qualms about his point-per-game average, which includes 11 goals and seven assists through his first 18 games representing the Winged Wheel.... Red Wings' Alex DeBrincat: Records apple in Global Series loss
DeBrincat supplied an assist Friday in a 3-2 loss to the Maple Leafs as part of the Global Series in Sweden. DeBrincat was moderately impactful during the two-game series in Sweden, adding a goal against his former team in a 5-4 overtime loss to the Senators on Thursday. He stretched his point streak to three games with the apple against the Leafs. Still, it shouldn't be lost on fantasy managers that DeBrincat will have gone a month without a multi-point game by the time the Red Wings play again, which isn't until Wednesday's clash with the Devils.... Red Wings' Alex DeBrincat: Makes only shot count
DeBrincat scored on his only shot in Saturday's 5-4 win over the Blue Jackets. DeBrincat required only 15 games to reach 10 goals with his new club, which only three other players in Red Wings history have done, according to Dave Hogg of NHL.com. DeBrincat's goal against the Blue Jackets was rather clutch, as it knotted the score at three goals apiece midway through the contest. The electrifying winger also has five assists this season to boast a point-per-game pace ahead of Thursday's commencement of the NHL Global Series versus the Senators.... See More ... See Less -
Red Wings' Alex DeBrincat: Clear to play
DeBrincat (illness) is expected to play Thursday versus the Jets, Ansar Khan of MLive.com reports. DeBrincat was questionable after missing Wednesday's practice, but he's feeling well enough to suit up. He leads the NHL with nine goals and has added four assists over seven contests, providing a huge boost to the Red Wings' top line in his first year with the team.... See More ... See Less -
Red Wings' Alex DeBrincat: Likely to face Jets
DeBrincat (illness) is likely to play Thursday versus Winnipeg, but he'll be a game-time call. DeBrincat missed Wednesday's practice due to his illness. He's been incredible so far, scoring nine goals and 13 points through seven games, including four markers and five points over his last two contests. If DeBrincat ends up being unavailable Thursday, David Perron might play a bigger role.... See More ... See Less -
Red Wings' Alex DeBrincat: Questionable Thursday
DeBrincat missed Wednesday's practice because he was feeling under the weather, according to Max Bultman of The Athletic. The Red Wings will see how DeBrincat feels Thursday before making a decision about his availability for that evening's contest versus Winnipeg. DeBrincat is off to an unreal start, scoring nine goals and 13 points in seven outings. If DeBrincat can't play Thursday, then David Perron might serve in a bigger role against the Jets.... Red Wings' Alex DeBrincat: Hat trick, assist in big win
DeBrincat recorded a hat trick and one assist in Sunday's 6-2 win over the Flames. DeBrincat has put up multiple points in three of six games this season. With the four-point effort, the winger has an NHL-best eight goals and 12 points. He's added 19 shots on net and a plus-7 rating. While he's been particularly effective on the power play, all four of DeBrincat's points Sunday came at even strength.... See More ... See Less -
Red Wings' Alex DeBrincat: Scores in Red Wings debut
DeBrincat scored a goal on two shots in Thursday's 4-3 loss to the Devils. DeBrincat tied the game 2-2 midway through the third period, firing a wrister shot past Vitek Vanecek on the power play. The 25-year-old DeBrincat is expected to provide a major offensive boost to Detroit's lineup this season, playing alongside Dylan Larkin and David Perron on the first line while working on the top power-play unit. DeBrincat had 27 goals and 66 points with Ottawa last year before he was traded to the Red Wings in the offseason.... See More ... See Less -
Red Wings' Alex DeBrincat: Heads to Detroit in sign-and-trade
Ottawa traded DeBrincat to Detroit on Sunday in exchange for Dominik Kubalik, Donovan Sebrango, a conditional 2024 first-round draft pick and a 2024 fourth-round draft pick. The Red Wings then signed DeBrincat to a four-year, $31.5 million contract extension. DeBrincat spent one year with the Senators before hitting restricted free agency this offseason. After a 27-goal, 66-point campaign, he and Ottawa were too far apart on a deal, so he'll pack his bags for Detroit. The 25-year-old winger is among the league's best goal scorers; he's buried 100 goals in 216 games over the last three seasons. DeBrincat will fill a top-six role, likely on the top line alongside Dylan Larkin, with a spot on the top power-play unit.... See More ... See Less -
Senators' Alex DeBrincat: Six goals in last nine games
DeBrincat had a goal and an assist in Saturday's 7-4 win over the Lightning. DeBrincat gave Ottawa a 4-3 lead at 19:43 of the second period with a power-play goal from the low slot. The Sens never looked back. DeBrincat has six goals in the past nine games (three assists).... See More ... See Less -
Senators' Alex DeBrincat: Notches two assists
DeBrincat posted two assists and three shots in the Senators' 3-2 overtime loss to the Hurricanes on Tuesday. DeBrincat picked up helpers on both Senators goals, with one of them coming on the power play. This performance gives the American forward points in back-to-back games and eight points in his last seven games. On the season, the former Blackhawk has 26 goals and 62 points in 77 games.... Senators' Alex DeBrincat: Scores in OT loss
DeBrincat scored a goal on two shots in Sunday's 4-3 loss to the Blue Jackets in overtime. DeBrincat gave Ottawa a 3-2 lead late in the first period, skating into the slot off a faceoff before firing a shot past Jon Gillies. While DeBrincat's season-long production has fallen short of expectations, he's been hot of late, tallying six goals in his last six games. The 25-year-old winger is up to 26 goals and 62 points through 77 games in his first season with the Senators.... See More ... See Less -
Senators' Alex DeBrincat: Adds power-play goal Monday
DeBrincat scored a goal on three shots in Monday's 5-2 win over the Panthers. DeBrincat extended Ottawa's lead to 3-1 with his power-play goal in the second period, one-timing a Drake Batherson feed from the circle. It was DeBrincat's 24th goal of the season and his 28th point on the man advantage. Overall, the 25-year-old winger has had an uneven first season with the Senators. DeBrincat has 60 points in 74 games this year after tallying 78 points last season with Chicago.... See More ... See Less -
Senators' Alex DeBrincat: Big three points carry win
DeBrincat had two goals and an assist in a 7-2 win over the Lightning on Thursday. His first goal came on a wrist shot on a 3-on-1 rush in the first, and then he got another about two-and-a-half minutes later when he fought off Zach Bogosian and flicked the puck past Brian Elliott. DeBrincat hadn't scored since March 9, ending a nine-game goal drought. He hasn't had the offensive season he, the Sens or fantasy managers had expected (23 goals, 36 assists; 72 games). Almost half of his points (27) have come on the power play. DeBrincat needs to be more than a power-play specialist to help his team.... See More ... See Less -
Senators' Alex DeBrincat: Centering pass bounces in
DeBrincat scored a goal on four shots in Thursday's 5-4 win over the Kraken. DeBrincat was responsible for the game-winner, which went off a Kraken defenseman's stick and into the net. Over his last seven games, DeBrincat has two goals and five helpers. The 25-year-old winger is up to 21 tallies, 55 points, 212 shots, 98 hits and a minus-19 rating through 64 contests overall. He's not producing like he did last year (41 goals, 78 points in 82 outings), but the 25-year-old remains a strong option while logging top-six minutes.... See More ... See Less -
Senators' Alex DeBrincat: Two-point effort Tuesday
DeBrincat scored a goal and an assist, both on the power play, in Tuesday's 6-1 win over the Red Wings. The game got very chippy very quickly, and DeBrincat took advantage of Ottawa power plays in the first and second periods after Detroit had already fallen behind 3-1. The 25-year-old winger has been on a roll over the last month, and through the last 12 games he's racked up five goals and 13 points. DeBrincat also remains a big-time contributor with the man advantage, collecting nine goals and 25 points on the power play through 60 contests.... See More ... See Less -
Senators' Alex DeBrincat: Garners helper versus Wings
DeBrincat notched an assist and four shots in Monday's 6-2 win over Detroit. DeBrincat has helpers in back-to-back games but hasn't scored a goal in four straight despite putting 12 shots on net over that stretch. While the 25-year-old winger is unlikely to reach the 40-goal threshold as he did last season, he needs just one more tally to reach the 20-goal mark for the fifth time in six NHL seasons.... See More ... See Less -
Senators' Alex DeBrincat: Two points in Monday's OT win
DeBrincat scored a goal and an assist in Monday's 4-3 overtime win over Calgary. He potted the goal that forced OT with just 88 seconds left in the third period, blasting home a feed from Tim Stutzle, then returned the favor by springing Stutzle for the game-winner with just under two minutes left in the extra frame. After slumping to begin the new year with just three points (two goals and a helper) in the first 12 games of January. DeBrincat has turned things around with a four-game point streak, finding the back of the net in three of them.... See More ... See Less
