  • Wild's Filip Gustavsson: Tending twine Thursday

Gustavsson will defend the home crease versus Utah on Thursday, per Wild insider Kevin Falness. Gustavsson has struggled of late, going 0-3-0 while allowing 19 goals on 118 shots (.839 save percentage) over his last four starts. Gustavsson's season stats still look solid following his stellar start to the year, as he is 18-9-3 with a 2.58 GAA and a .914 save percentage over 31 appearances this season. Utah is averaging 2.87 goals per game this season, which ranks 21st in the NHL.

  • Wild's Filip Gustavsson: Available for Monday

Gustavsson (illness) is expected to return to the lineup in Monday's road game versus Colorado, Jessi Pierce of NHL.com reports. Due to Gustavsson's absence, Dylan Ferguson was Marc-Andre Fleury's backup in Saturday's 6-2 loss to Nashville. Ferguson returned to AHL Iowa on Sunday. Gustavsson was going to start Monday's matchup initially, but it's unclear if his illness changed those plans. He has posted a record of 18-9-3 with a 2.58 GAA and a .914 save percentage across 31 appearances this season.

  • Wild's Filip Gustavsson: Out of action Saturday

Gustavsson will miss Saturday's game in Nashville due to an illness, Michael Russo of The Athletic reports. Marc-Andre Fleury is getting the start in goal Saturday, and Dylan Ferguson will back him up with Gustavsson out of action. Gustavsson could return as early as Monday when the Wild are in Colorado. Gustavsson is 18-9-3 with three shutouts, a 2.58 GAA and a .914 save percentage this season.

  • Wild's Filip Gustavsson: Set to start Monday

Gustavsson will serve as the starting netminder for Monday's road game against Colorado, Michael Russo of The Athletic reports. Although Marc-Andre Fleury will get the start Saturday against Nashville as the Wild begin a two-game road trip, Gustavsson will be in the net a few days later. Gustavsson is in the midst of a three-game slump in which he's gone 0-3-0 with a 5.07 GAA and .850 save percentage. He struggled against the Avalanche last week, allowing six goals on 27 shots (.778 save percentage) en route to the home loss.

  • Wild's Filip Gustavsson: Continues to struggle

Gustavsson allowed five goals on 36 shots in Wednesday's 5-3 loss to the Oilers. Gustavsson has leaked 19 goals over his last four outings, going 0-3-0 in that span. It's been an awful confluence of tough opponents for the Wild right as they're battling numerous injuries throughout the lineup, especially on defense. It would be unfair to blame Gustavsson for those circumstances, but fantasy mangers may want to pick and choose their spots with the goalie for a while. He's now 18-9-3 with a 2.58 GAA and a .914 save percentage over 31 starts. The Wild's next game is at Nashville on Saturday.

  • Wild's Filip Gustavsson: In goal versus Oilers

Gustavsson will get the starting nod at home against Edmonton on Wednesday, Jessi Pierce of NHL.com reports. Gustavsson has been struggling of late, going 0-2-0 in his last three appearances while sporting a disastrous 5.81 GAA and .829 save percentage. Despite his underwhelming performances, the 26-year-old backstop will start for the ninth time in the Wild's last 11 outings. Still, if Gustavsson stumbles again, the team will have to consider giving more opportunities to Marc-Andre Fleury, who is currently riding a three-game winning streak.

  • Wild's Filip Gustavsson: Yields four goals in loss

Gustavsson stopped 33 of 37 shots in Sunday's 4-1 loss to the Golden Knights. Gustavsson has not risen to the occasion in his last two starts, allowing a total of 10 goals on 64 shots to the Avalanche and Golden Knights. The 26-year-old netminder has seen a starter's workload when healthy this season, so it's possible he may just need a little extra rest to get on track, and that could happen with Marc-Andre Fleury playing well lately. Gustavsson is down to 18-8-3 with a 2.50 GAA and a .917 save percentage through 30 starts. The Wild have another tough matchup next on the schedule, as they host the Oilers on Wednesday.

  • Wild's Filip Gustavsson: Slated to start against Vegas

Gustavsson is expected to start Sunday's road matchup against the Golden Knights, Wild radio broadcaster Joe O'Donnell reports. Gustavsson got the night off Saturday against San Jose, but he'll unsurprisingly return to the net for the second half of the back-to-back set. The 26-year-old has been inconsistent over three appearances this month, going 1-1-0 with a 4.16 GAA and .848 save percentage, and he could have some difficulty against the Golden Knights, who are tied for fourth in the NHL with 3.40 goals per game.

  • Wild's Filip Gustavsson: Starting Thursday

Gustavsson will defend the home crease versus Colorado on Thursday, per Jessi Pierce of NHL.com. Gustavsson struggled Tuesday, allowing four goals on 18 shots before he was pulled early in the second period against the Blues. It was a rare bad game for the Swedish netminder, who is 18-6-3 with three shutouts, a 2.31 GAA and a .922 save percentage in 28 outings this season. He will face the Avalanche, who are converting 3.33 goals per game in 2024-25.

  • Wild's Filip Gustavsson: In goal Tuesday

Gustavsson will defend the home crease versus the Blues on Tuesday, Jessi Pierce of NHL.com reports. Gustavsson recorded his third shutout of the campaign in Saturday's 4-0 convincing road win over the Hurricanes. The Blues have scored 2.76 goals per game, which ranks 24th in the league. The Swedish netminder has been spectacular in five career games against St. Louis with a 4-1-0 record, 1.82 GAA and .935 save percentage.

  • Wild's Filip Gustavsson: Posts 21-save shutout

Gustavsson recorded a 21-save shutout in Saturday's 4-0 win over the Hurricanes. Gustavsson won for the fourth time in his last five starts, a span in which he's allowed just 10 goals. The 26-year-old improved to 18-6-3 with a 2.20 GAA and a .926 save percentage over 27 outings. He also matched his career high for shutouts in a season with three, a mark he's reached in three straight campaigns. Gustavsson's got plenty of time to surpass that mark in 2024-25, and the Swede should remain among the best goalies in the league in the second half.

  • Wild's Filip Gustavsson: Between pipes in Carolina

Gustavsson will guard the road goal versus Carolina on Saturday, according to Sarah McLellan of the Minneapolis Star Tribune. The 26-year-old netminder is 17-6-3 with a pair of shutouts, a 2.28 GAA and a .924 save percentage across 26 starts this season. Carolina has registered 3.46 goals per game in 2024-25.

  • Wild's Filip Gustavsson: Solid outing despite defeat

Gustavsson stopped 34 of 36 shots in Sunday's 3-1 loss to the Senators. The third goal was an empty-netter in the final stages of the third period. Gustavsson couldn't extend his winning streak to three games, but there's no question he's been playing at a high level since returning from a lower-body injury that sidelined him for five games between Dec. 14 and Dec. 21. Gustavsson has gone 2-1-0 with a 2.34 GAA and a .927 save percentage in his three outings since returning to action, which is right in line with what he's done all season.

This will be Gustavsson's third straight start since returning from a lower-body injury -- he's won his previous two, stopping 55 of 60 shots in that span. Overall, Gustavsson is 16-5-3 with a .922 save percentage and 2.26 GAA this season.

The 26-year-old didn't get much help early in Friday's contest, but the Wild scored twice in 57 seconds in the third period to tie the game before Brock Faber won it in the extra session. Gustavsson improved to 16-5-3 with a 2.26 GAA and a .922 save percentage over 24 appearances. The Wild's next game is at home Sunday versus the Senators.

  • Wild's Filip Gustavsson: Ruled out next two games

Gustavsson (lower body) will not be in the crease for either of the Wild's next two contests, Joe Smith of The Athletic reports Friday. Since Marc-Andre Fleury is getting the nod versus Utah at home Friday, Gustavsson's continued absence will likely see Jesper Wallstedt between the pipes on the road against Winnipeg on Saturday. Prior to getting hurt, Gustavsson was putting up solid numbers, posting a 5-1-0 record with a 2.40 GAA and one shutout in his last six outings. At this point, Minnesota may opt to hold Gustavsson out until after the Christmas break.

  • Wild's Filip Gustavsson: Won't play Wednesday

Gustavsson (lower body) is still being evaluated and won't play Wednesday versus the Panthers, according to Joe Smith of The Athletic. While Gustavsson won't be an option for Wednesday's matchup with Florida, head coach John Hynes said that he thinks the Swedish netminder's absence will be short term. Gustavsson has been stellar in 2024-25, posting a 14-5-3 record, .922 save percentage and 2.24 GAA through 22 appearances.

  • Wild's Filip Gustavsson: Starting Sunday

Gustavsson will patrol the home crease versus Vegas on Sunday, Michael Russo of The Athletic reports. Gustavsson gave up five goals on 26 shots against Edmonton on Thursday, taking the loss. It was his worst performance since allowing six goals on 22 shots in Philadelphia on Oct. 26. Gustavsson has been sensational this season, save for those two starts, as he is 14-5-3 with a 2.24 GAA and a .922 save percentage in 22 appearances in 2024-25. The Golden Knights are averaging 2.86 goals per game this season.

  • Wild's Filip Gustavsson: No trouble against Ducks

Gustavsson stopped 26 of 27 shots in Friday's 5-1 win over the Ducks. Gustavsson collected his fourth straight win in this contest. He allowed a deflected goal by Brock McGinn in the third period but otherwise controlled the game to defeat the Ducks. Gustavsson improved to 13-4-3 with a 1.99 GAA and a .931 save percentage over 20 starts this season. He's been one of the top goalies in the league and isn't wearing down under a heavy workload. Marc-Andre Fleury will check in to start Saturday's game versus the Kings, but Gustavsson should be back between the pipes to wrap up the road trip Tuesday in Utah.
