    Meloche was released from his professional tryout with the Blue Jackets on Friday, Aaron Portzline of The Athletic reports. Meloche played 57 games with San Jose from 2020-22, scoring twice and adding six assists. Meloche had four goals and 21 points in 64 games with AHL Calgary last season.

  • Blue Jackets' Nicolas Meloche: Signs PTO

    Meloche signed a professional tryout agreement with the Blue Jackets on Wednesday, Mark Scheig of The Hockey Writers reports. Meloche signed with the Flames last summer but he never got into a game with Calgary. The 26-year-old defenseman will get a chance to earn a contract with the Blue Jackets, but Columbus added several key defensive pieces this offseason, meaning Meloche will have to impress during training camp to secure a deal.
