Flyers' Aleksei Kolosov: Returns to minors
Kolosov was reassigned to AHL Lehigh Valley on Wednesday.
Dan Vladar (lower body) was activated off injured reserve in a corresponding move. Vlada will return to action as the starter for Wednesday's road game in Columbus. Samuel Ersson will serve as the No. 2 option, which leaves Kolosov as the man to head down to the AHL. The 24-year-old Kolosov has gone 0-2-0 with a 4.00 GAA and an .830 save percentage across four outings with Philadelphia this season. He also has a 2.54 GAA and a .908 save percentage in 19 outings with Lehigh Valley in 2025-26.

Flyers' Aleksei Kolosov: Gives up three goals on three shots
Kolosov was pulled Saturday after giving up three goals on three shots in a 6-3 loss to the Rangers.
The Flyers fell apart around Kolosov, and he had no answers whatsoever. The Rangers scored three goals in 1:20 against him. This is the kind of outing that could break a player. It's hard to imagine the Flyers turning back to Kolosov. Ouch.

Due to the absence of Dan Vladar (upper body), Kolosov suited up as Samuel Ersson's backup in Saturday's 5-4 shootout loss to the Rangers. Flyers' Aleksei Kolosov: Headed for minors
Kolosov is expected to be sent down to AHL Lehigh Valley on Friday, Charlie O'Connor of PHLY Sports reports.
Kolosov finds himself as the odd man out now that Samuel Ersson has returned from a lower-body injury. In his two appearances for the Flyers this year, the 23-year-old Kolosov has gone 0-1-0 despite a solid 1.62 GAA and .929 save percentage. If he can keep playing at that level in the minors, Kolosov could force the Flyers to bring him back up at some point. For now, it will be Dan Vladar and Ersson splitting the workload in Philadelphia.

Flyers' Aleksei Kolosov: Gets little help in loss
Kolosov stopped 19 of 21 shots in Sunday's 2-1 loss to the Flames.
Kolosov made his first start of the season, but the Flyers' offense didn't offer him much support. The 23-year-old still played a decent game, and he's now stopped 26 of 28 shots over two appearances this season. He'll be up with the big club while Samuel Ersson (undisclosed) is on the mend, but Dan Vladar is likely to see a majority of the playing time between the pipes. The Flyers are on the road for their next two games, with a tough matchup in Montreal on Tuesday followed by a more favorable contest against Nashville on Thursday.

Flyers' Aleksei Kolosov: Earns first AHL shutout
Kolosov posted a 35-save shutout in AHL Lehigh Valley's 3-0 win over Cleveland on Friday.
Kolosov was facing former Flyers teammate Ivan Fedotov in this game. While it was just one game, Kolosov made the Flyers look smart for keeping him, as he earned the first AHL shutout of his career. He's allowed two goals on 62 shots over his first two games of the Phantoms' season. Should anything happen to Samuel Ersson or Dan Vladar, Kolosov is likely to get called up to Philadelphia.

Flyers' Aleksei Kolosov: Poor outing in loss
Kolosov gave up four goals on 30 shots in Thursday's 5-4 loss to the Sabres. The fifth goal was an empty-netter.
Kolosov didn't show anything to leave a positive impression heading into the offseason. He ends the 2024-25 campaign with a 5-9-1 record, a 3.59 GAA and an .867 save percentage over 17 NHL appearances. Samuel Ersson took a step back, and Ivan Fedotov wasn't much better than Kolosov, so the Flyers will certainly be taking a long look at goaltending in the offseason. All three netminders are under contract for 2025-26, but Kolosov is the only one who will be waivers exempt, though he has previously shown reluctance to play in the AHL.
