Texier (illness) is expected to return to the lineup against Carolina on Sunday, according to Jeff Svoboda of the Blue Jackets' official site. Texier sat out the past two games due to an illness. He has generated four goals, three assists and 29 shots on net in 19 games this season. Texier will probably replace Eric Robinson or Mathieu Olivier in the lineup.... See More ... See Less

Blue Jackets' Alexandre Texier: Rejoins Blue Jackets
Texier (illness) met up with his teammates in Raleigh on Saturday, Aaron Portzline of The Athletic reports. Texier, who has sat out the last two games, could be available for Sunday's contest versus the Hurricanes. The 24-year-old has four goals and three assists in 19 appearances this season, with all seven points occurring in his last eight contests.... See More ... See Less -
Blue Jackets' Alexandre Texier: Unavailable Friday
Texier (illness) will miss Friday's game versus New Jersey, per the NHL media site. It will be Columbus' second straight contest without Texier. He has four goals and seven points in 19 appearances this season. With Texier unavailable Friday, Eric Robinson is set to play in his second consecutive game.... See More ... See Less -
Blue Jackets' Alexandre Texier: Sitting out with illness
Texier (illness) won't play Wednesday versus the Blackhawks. Texier was announced as a scratch prior to warmups. The 24-year-old has produced seven points through 19 contests this season. In Texier's absence, look for Mathieu Olivier to draw back into the lineup.... See More ... See Less -
Blue Jackets' Alexandre Texier: Collects assist
Texier notched an assist, three shots on goal and a plus-2 rating in Sunday's 4-3 shootout loss to the Rangers. Texier set up a Sean Kuraly goal in the second period. All four of Texier's points this season have come over the last four games. The 24-year-old forward has generally filled a middle-six role, though he led all Blue Jackets forwards with 18:09 of ice time Sunday. He's added 23 shots on net and a minus-7 rating through 15 appearances -- without more sustained offense, he isn't a particularly intriguing option for fantasy managers.... See More ... See Less -
Blue Jackets' Alexandre Texier: Gets first two points of season
Texier scored a goal and registered an assist in a 5-4 overtime loss to Florida on Monday. Those were Texier's first two points in 12 appearances this year. His marker midway through the third period gave the Blue Jackets a 4-3 edge, but they failed to hold onto it. The 24-year-old showed promise in 2021-22 with 11 goals and 20 points in 26 contests, but he didn't play in the NHL last season. He went into Monday's game averaging a healthy 16:37 of ice time this campaign, so his lack of offense has been surprising. Perhaps his production will begin to pick up now that his season-opening drought is behind him.... See More ... See Less -
Blue Jackets' Alexandre Texier: Strong preseason continues
Texier picked up an assist in Monday's 5-3 preseason win over the Blues. It's been a tough couple of years off the ice for the 24-year-old -- Texier played in France last season to be closer to his family -- but he's back in North America and is getting a long look in a top-six role during training camp. Texier scored 11 goals and 20 points in 36 games during his last NHL action in 2021-22, and while he likely won't be a dynamic offensive asset this season even on a top line, he could be defensively responsible glue guy alongside Patrik Laine or Adam Fantilli.... Blue Jackets' Alexandre Texier: Will rejoin Columbus in 2023-24
Texier (personal) will return to the Blue Jackets for 2023-24. Texier has been away from the team since March of 2022 while in his native France during his leave of absence. The 23-year-old posted 13 goals and 22 assists in 46 games with ZSC Lions in the Swiss National League. He'll likely contend for a bottom-six spot in the lineup next season, though he is currently a restricted free agent and will need a new contract.... See More ... See Less -
Blue Jackets' Alexandre Texier: Finalizes European contract
Texier inked a one-year deal with Swiss club ZSC Lions on Wednesday, Brian Hedger of The Columbus Dispatch reports. The Jackets had previously announced that Texier would be allowed to remain in Europe this season rather than report to Columbus, extending the leave of absence he took at the end of the 2021-22 campaign. With the winger playing elsewhere, Kent Johnson and Emil Bemstrom should both see a significant uptick in ice time and games played this year.... See More ... See Less -
Blue Jackets' Alexandre Texier: Won't play in NHL this season
Texier will remain in his native France for the 2022-23 campaign and won't be playing for the Blue Jackets this season, the team announced Wednesday. Texier was granted a leave of absence from the team last season and that will carry forward into the upcoming campaign as well. The Jackets will allow the 22-year-old center to sign with a European club, possibly Grenoble of the French league, where he played his youth hockey before going pro in 2016-17.... See More ... Blue Jackets' Alexandre Texier: Still weeks away
Texier (finger) is still "a few weeks" away from returning, Brian Hedger of The Columbus Dispatch reports. Texier was originally expected to miss four weeks with his fractured finger, but this report suggests the 22-year-old forward will be sidelined for six weeks at a minimum. The 2017 second-round pick got off to a fast start before suffering his injury, racking up 11 goals and 20 points through 36 games.... See More ... See Less -
Blue Jackets' Alexandre Texier: Placed on IR
Texier (finger) landed on injured reserve Monday. Texier is just one week into his projected four-week recovery timeline, hence his placement on injured reserve. Before getting hurt, he had just one point in his prior six outings. Still, despite his injury woes, Texier has already reached new career highs in goals (11) and points (20) and should be able to get over the 30-point threshold once given the all-clear.... Blue Jackets' Alexandre Texier: Missing four weeks
Texier suffered a fractured finger Wednesday and will miss approximately four weeks. Texier will now be out until late February. The 22-year-old is in the middle of a breakout year with 20 points through 36 games. Emil Bemstrom will likely see more playing time while he's out.... See More ... See Less -
Blue Jackets' Alexandre Texier: Out Thursday
Texier (hand) will be out for a while, Blue Jackets team reporter Jeff Svoboda reports Thursday. Texier suffered a hand injury in the first period of Wednesday's game against Calgary. The 22-year-old will not appear in Thursday's contest against the Rangers at a minimum. Check back for another update ahead of Sunday's Matchup with Montreal or when a clearer recovery timetable is released.... See More ... See Less -
Blue Jackets' Alexandre Texier: Set to miss time
Texier (upper body) will be out for "a little bit," Mark Scheig of The Hockey Writers reports. Head coach Brad Larsen relayed the bad news on Texier's status during his postgame press conference. The 22-year-old forward should be considered likely to be out through at least the All-Star break, meaning he'll likely miss the Blue Jackets' next three games. He could be placed on injured reserve in the coming days if the Blue Jackets need to free up a roster spot.... See More ... See Less -
Blue Jackets' Alexandre Texier: Exits Wednesday's contest
Texier (upper body) won't return to Wednesday's game versus the Flames. Texier was seen receiving treatment on his hand or wrist late in the first period, though the Blue Jackets declined to specify the 22-year-old's injury. He should be considered day-to-day ahead of Thursday's game versus the Rangers.... See More ... See Less -
Blue Jackets' Alexandre Texier: Suiting up Thursday
Texier, who cleared COVID-19 protocols Thursday, will be in the lineup against Carolina, Blue Jackets team reporter Jeff Svoboda reports. Texier missed the last four games while stuck on the COVID-19 list. The 22-year-old has a career-high 19 points through 30 games this season. He'll return to a middle-six role.... See More ... Blue Jackets' Alexandre Texier: Exits COVID protocols
Texier (not injury related) has been cleared of the league's COVID-19 protocols ahead of Thursday's matchup with Carolina. It's not clear whether Texier will immediately jump back into the lineup versus the Hurricanes considering he won't get much in the way of practice time beforehand. If the 22-year-old center does play, it would be his first return to action since Jan. 1, a stretch of four games on the shelf. Prior to getting hurt, he racked up nine points in his previous eight contests.... See More ... See Less -
Blue Jackets' Alexandre Texier: Enters COVID-19 protocols
Texier was added to the NHL's COVID-19 protocols list Friday, Brian Hedger of The Columbus Dispatch reports. Texier will need to submit two negative COVID-19 tests before rejoining the Blue Jackets, so he'll miss Saturday's matchup with New Jersey at a minimum. Emil Bemstrom will likely hold onto a spot in Columbus' lineup until Texier is cleared to return.... See More ... See Less -
Blue Jackets' Alexandre Texier: Ruled out for Thursday
Texier (illness) will miss Thursday's game in New Jersey, per Aaron Portzline of The Athletic on Wednesday. Texier averaged 16:22 of ice time and logged 10 points through his 10 performances prior to his initial non-COVID-19 illness absence. His status will be reevaluated prior to Saturday's contest with the Devils. Until the 22-year-old recovers, Oliver Bjorkstrand will continue to see an expanded role.... See More ... See Less
