  • Oilers' Stuart Skinner: Awful again in Game 2

Skinner stopped 23 of 28 shots in Wednesday's 6-2 loss to the Kings in Game 2. Skinner made it about halfway through the third period before he was replaced by Calvin Pickard, who allowed the sixth and final goal against. With 11 goals allowed on 58 shots over two playoff contests, Skinner simply isn't getting the job done. The Oilers have yet to name a starting goalie for Friday's Game 3, but it could go either way at this point, as they can't afford to fall into a 3-0 hole in the series with how leaky they've been at the back.

  • Oilers' Stuart Skinner: Gets starting nod Wednesday

Skinner will patrol the crease on the road in Game 2 against Los Angeles on Wednesday, Jason Gregor of Sports 1440 Edmonton reports. Skinner was shelled in Game 1 to the tune of six goals on 30 shots (.800 save percentage) in a losing effort to the Kings. Despite the tough performance, the 26-year-old netminder will get the start ahead of Calvin Pickard, who went 22-10-1 in his 36 regular-season outings. If Skinner stumbles again, his hold on the No. 1 job should probably be in doubt.

  • Oilers' Stuart Skinner: Beaten six times in series opener

Skinner stopped 24 of 30 shots in Monday's 6-5 loss to the Kings in Game 1. Skinner had been fantastic against the Kings in the regular season, going 1-0-1 with a 1.95 GAA and a .932 save percentage, but that wasn't the case in this series opener. The 26-year-old netminder posted an .896 save percentage in 51 regular-season appearances, representing the lowest mark of his three full years in the league, and there's no question he'll need to bounce back in the upcoming games of the series to avoid putting all the pressure on the offense.

  • Oilers' Stuart Skinner: Tabbed Game 1 starter

Skinner will start Monday's Game 1 on the road at the Kings, Oilers play-by-play announcer Jack Michaels reports. Skinner backstopped the Oilers on the way to the Stanley Cup Finals last season, and he is going to be the go-to goalie in this postseason run as well. Skinner missed nine of the team's final 11 games with a head injury, but started two of the final three games to try to get back up to speed. The good news for Edmonton is that the 26-year-old goaltender has been fantastic against the Kings this season, going 1-0-1 with a 1.95 GAA and a .932 save percentage.

  • Oilers' Stuart Skinner: Playoff-ready after shutout win

Skinner posted an 18-save shutout in Wednesday's 3-0 win over the Sharks. Skinner has allowed just one goal on 36 shots over two wins since returning from a head injury. The 26-year-old was sharp, and considering Calvin Pickard struggled versus the Kings on Monday, it could be Skinner who gets the first shot at claiming the No. 1 job in goal for the Oilers in the postseason. Skinner ends the regular season at 26-18-4 with a 2.81 GAA and an .896 save percentage, as well as three shutouts, over 51 appearances. Even if Skinner starts Game 1 versus the Kings, he's unlikely to have much leeway should his performance falter early in the series.

  • Oilers' Stuart Skinner: Sharp against depleted Jets

Skinner stopped 17 of 18 shots in Sunday's 4-1 win over the Jets. The Jets rested two defensemen and had three of their regular forwards out of the lineup as well. All told, Skinner turned in a good performance in his first game action since March 26, though he wasn't facing an opponent at full strength. The 26-year-old netminder is at a 25-18-4 record with a 2.87 GAA and an .894 save percentage over 50 appearances this season. Calvin Pickard will likely face the Kings on Monday, but Skinner could get another tune-up before the playoffs in Wednesday's regular-season finale in San Jose. At this time, it's not clear which goalie will be the Oilers' No. 1 entering the postseason.

  • Oilers' Stuart Skinner: Returning to crease Sunday

Skinner will start in goal on the road versus the Jets on Sunday, Jason Gregor of Sports 1440 Edmonton reports. Skinner returned in the backup role Friday versus the Sharks, and he'll get back between the pipes a game later. Calvin Pickard will likely draw the start in Monday's home matchup versus the Kings in the second half of Edmonton's back-to-back. Skinner was out for seven games due to a head injury, and before his absence, he was 4-3-0 with a 3.11 GAA and an .873 save percentage over nine games in March.

  • Oilers' Stuart Skinner: Ready to return

Skinner (head) will be available for Friday's home game against San Jose, Jason Gregor of Sports 1440 Edmonton. Goaltender Olivier Rodrigue was returned to AHL Bakersfield because Skinner is ready to return. The 26-year-old Skinner has a 24-18-4 record, 2.91 GAA and .894 save percentage in 49 appearances in 2024-25. Starting with Friday's clash, the Oilers will conclude the regular season with a busy stretch of four games in just six days, so it wouldn't be shocking if Skinner and Calvin Pickard evenly split that workload.

  • Oilers' Stuart Skinner: Doubtful during road trip

Skinner (head) is not expected to play during the Oilers' upcoming three-game road trip, Oilers play-by-play announcer Jack Michaels reports Wednesday. Skinner's continued absence means opponents should see a heavy dose of Calvin Pickard ahead of the postseason. In fact, if Pickard is in peak form heading into the playoffs, the 26-year-old Skinner may be hard-pressed to steal back the starting job. Over his last 10 outings, Skinner has underwhelmed with a 4-4-0 record and 3.21 GAA.

  • Oilers' Stuart Skinner: Set to miss more time

Skinner (head) won't be in the lineup for Saturday's home game against Calgary and could be out for a about of week, Tony Brar of Oilers TV reports. Skinner will miss his second straight game versus the Flames, and even though he is day-to-day, his return won't be immediate. He has posted a 24-18-4 record with two shutouts, a 2.91 GAA and an .894 save percentage through 49 appearances this season. Calvin Pickard will see most of the starts while Skinner is unavailable, and Olivier Rodrigue will be the backup netminder.

  • Oilers' Stuart Skinner: Departs game in third period

Skinner was hurt in a third-period collision versus the Jets on Thursday, Oilers play-by-play announcer Jack Michaels reports. Head coach Kris Knoblauch added that Skinner was pulled by the concussion spotter, Mark Spector of Sportsnet reports. Skinner's injury occurred late in the contest, so it's not yet known if he's officially suffered a concussion. He allowed three goals on 16 shots prior the injury, though he didn't end up taking a result as the Jets won the game in overtime. Skinner joins Leon Draisaitl (undisclosed) and Connor McDavid (lower body) as players in doubt to play Saturday versus the Kraken. Should Skinner miss any length of time, Calvin Pickard will operate as the No. 1 netminder.

  • Oilers' Stuart Skinner: Wins in New York

Skinner stopped 21 of 22 shots in Sunday's 3-1 win over the Rangers. Skinner put an end to a two-game skid after losing to the Sabres and Devils earlier in the road trip. The 26-year-old limited the damage to a Will Cuylle goal on a broken play at the net front in the second period. Skinner improved to 23-17-4 with a 2.84 GAA and an .897 save percentage over 46 outings this season. The Oilers open a four-game homestand Tuesday versus Utah.

  • Oilers' Stuart Skinner: Tending twine Sunday

Skinner will defend the road net against the Rangers on Sunday, per Oilers play-by-play announcer Jack Michaels. Skinner has lost his last two outings, surrendering six goals on 45 shots. He has a 22-17-4 record with two shutouts, a 2.88 GAA and an .896 save percentage through 45 appearances this season. The Rangers sit 13th in the league with 3.01 goals per game in 2024-25 and earned a 4-0 win over Columbus on Saturday.

  • Oilers' Stuart Skinner: In goal against Dallas

Skinner will draw the home start versus the Stars on Saturday, per Tony Brar of Oilers TV. Skinner made 25 saves on 27 shots in Thursday's 3-2 overtime win over Montreal, his first victory since Feb. 4. Through 42 appearances this season, the 26-year-old netminder is sporting a 21-15-4 record, .898 save percentage and 2.84 GAA. He'll have a tough test Saturday against a Dallas club that sits fourth in the NHL with 3.40 goals per game and acquired Mikko Rantanen in a blockbuster trade from the Hurricanes on Friday.

  • Oilers' Stuart Skinner: Secures overtime win

Skinner stopped 25 of 27 shots in Thursday's 3-2 overtime win over the Canadiens. The Oilers let a couple of one-goal leads get answered in regulation, but Evan Bouchard clutched up at 4:53 of overtime to get the win. Skinner had gone five outings without a victory, losing three times in that span. For the season, the 26-year-old netminder is 21-15-4 with a 2.84 GAA and an .898 save percentage across 42 appearances. As long as the Oilers don't acquire a goalie before Friday's trade deadline, Skinner will remain the No. 1, though his play makes him a middling option in most fantasy formats.

  • Oilers' Stuart Skinner: Expected starter for Thursday

Skinner is slated to start at home against Montreal on Thursday, per Jason Gregor of Sports 1440 Edmonton on Wednesday. Skinner is still searching for his first win since Feb. 4. He's 0-3-0 with a 4.55 GAA and an .863 save percentage over his past five outings. Montreal will enter Thursday's clash riding a five-game winning streak, so the Canadiens won't be the easiest of adversaries for Skinner.

  • Oilers' Stuart Skinner: Unimpressive in relief duty

Skinner gave up two goals on 16 shots in relief of Calvin Pickard in Tuesday's 6-2 loss to the Ducks. Skinner didn't have to wear the loss, but he didn't do anything to help the Oilers attempt a comeback. The 26-year-old has gone five appearances without a win, allowing a total of 18 goals on 131 shots in that span. Skinner remains at 20-15-4 on the year with a 2.87 GAA and an .897 save percentage across 41 games played. He'll likely start Thursday versus the Canadiens, but if the Oilers make a trade for a goalie, Skinner will be on notice that his No. 1 job is at risk.

  • Oilers' Stuart Skinner: Another tough night

Skinner turned aside 32 shots in Thursday's 4-3 loss to the Panthers. The two teams traded goals through the first two periods, but Skinner allowed two goals in less than three minutes midway through the third to decide things. The 26-year-old netminder has flopped badly since play resumed following the 4 Nations Face-Off, losing all three of his starts and coughing up 13 goals on 103 shots. Skinner remains stuck on 20 wins, and the slump has sent his save percentage on the season tumbling down to .898.

  • Oilers' Stuart Skinner: Scuffles continue

Skinner made 33 saves in a 4-1 loss to the Lightning on Tuesday. Skinner has scuffled since the mid-point of January, going 2-5-1 in nine starts and registering an .886 save percentage in that span. His .898 save percentage overall is 35th among goalies with at least 15 starts this season, and his 2.84 GAA is 34th. Skinner remains the Oilers starter, and he has delivered 20 wins this season (20-14-4). His game doesn't instill confidence, but Skinner has a chance to be OK enough to get the Oilers through a few playoff rounds as long as his team can put up goals.

  • Oilers' Stuart Skinner: Chased after one period

Skinner gave up three goals on 12 shots in Friday's 5-4 loss to the Avalanche. The Oilers were down 3-2 after one period, and head coach Kris Knoblauch decided to replace Skinner with Calvin Pickard for the remainder of the game. The Oilers were able to get Skinner off the hook but didn't pull at any point and ended up with a close loss. The 26-year-old remains at 20-12-4 with a 2.74 GAA and a .900 save percentage over 37 appearances this season. When the season resumes, the Oilers will embark on a road trip that begins with a back-to-back -- they visit the Flyers on Feb. 22 and the Capitals on Feb. 23, so Skinner and Pickard are likely to split the first two games after the break.
