  • Flyers' Ivan Fedotov: Set to start Friday

Fedotov is expected to start on the road against the Islanders on Friday. Fedotov has a 4-5-3 record, 3.26 GAA and .879 save percentage in 13 appearances in 2024-25. He hasn't shown up in the win column since Nov. 29, going 0-1-2 with a 2.92 GAA and an .870 save percentage since then. The Islanders are in a three-way tie for 28th in goals per game with 2.65.

  • Flyers' Ivan Fedotov: Falls to Jackets in shootout

Fedotov turned aside 26 shots in regulation and overtime and one of three shootout attempts in Tuesday's 3-2 loss to the Blue Jackets. The 28-year-old goalie was able to shut down most of Columbus' skaters, but Zach Werenski found the back of the net in the first and third periods, and Fedotov then had little luck in the shootout. His last win came back on Nov. 29, but Fedotov has started three of the last six games for Philadelphia, going 0-1-2 with a 2.59 GAA and .886 save percentage. However, Samuel Ersson has been picking up steam again, so playing time for Fedotov and Aleksei Kolosov could begin to dry up.

  • Flyers' Ivan Fedotov: Starting in Columbus

Fedotov will guard the road goal versus the Blue Jackets on Tuesday, per Mark Scheig of The Hockey Writers. Fedotov will get the second half of Philadelphia's back-to-back after Samuel Ersson played in Monday's 4-3 win over Florida. The 28-year-old Fedotov has a 4-5-2 record with a 3.40 GAA and an .874 save percentage through 12 NHL appearances this season. Columbus sits fifth in the league with 3.40 goals per game in 2024-25.

  • Flyers' Ivan Fedotov: Second straight loss to Leafs

Fedotov made 14 saves in a 3-2 loss to Toronto on Tuesday. Two of the goals came on the power play. Fedotov has played two straight games, both against Toronto, after starting just one in December. His last win came Nov. 29, and he's 0-1-1 since. Fedotov is a break-glass-and-use-only-in-emergency goalie.

  • Flyers' Ivan Fedotov: Gets starting nod Tuesday

Fedotov will be between the home pipes versus Toronto on Tuesday, Jordan Hall of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports. Fedotov made his first appearance in the crease in a month against the Leafs on Saturday, stopping 22 of 25 shots in an overtime loss. It seems the 28-year-old backstop will get another crack at toppling Toronto, with the Flyers opting to utilize Fedotov over the struggling Aleksei Kolosov. In the long term, it figures to be Samuel Ersson's crease to lose once he returns from a lower-body injury.

  • Flyers' Ivan Fedotov: Decent in overtime loss

Fedotov allowed three goals on 25 shots in Sunday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Maple Leafs. It wasn't a great performance, but considering Fedotov hadn't played in a month and was facing a tough offense, it was good enough. The 28-year-old has been relegated to a third-string role for the Flyers, but he's getting chances to suit up with Samuel Ersson (lower body) ailing. Fedotov is 4-4-2 with a 3.42 GAA and an .877 save percentage through 11 starts this season. Aleksei Kolosov and Fedotov will compete for starts until Ersson is cleared to play again.

  • Flyers' Ivan Fedotov: Earns win Friday

Fedotov saved 22 of 23 shots in a 3-1 win over the Rangers on Friday. Fedotov bounced back after allowing eight goals on 67 shots (.881 save percentage) over his previous two starts. The Flyers scored twice in the opening 4:24 of the first period, giving Fedotov some breathing room early. He was beaten by Vincent Trocheck midway through the second frame, which made it a one-goal game, but Fedotov didn't let anything else past him. He improved to 4-4-1 through nine appearances in 2024-25. After getting the nod Friday, Fedotov will probably hand the goaltending duties over to Aleksei Kolosov for Saturday's tilt in St. Louis.

  • Flyers' Ivan Fedotov: Between pipes Friday

Fedotov will defend the home crease versus the Rangers on Friday. Fedotov is 3-4-1 with a 3.69 GAA and an .874 save percentage as he has struggled his last two starts after winning three in a row. Fedotov has given up eight goals on 67 shots in a loss to Carolina and a shootout defeat at the hands of the Golden Knights. The Rangers are in the midst of a four-game losing streak and are averaging 3.33 goals per game.

  • Flyers' Ivan Fedotov: Felled by Knights in shootout

Fedotov stopped 26 of 30 shots in regulation and overtime and one of two shootout attempts in Monday's 5-4 loss to the Golden Knights. The Flyers jumped out to an early 3-0 lead, but Fedotov couldn't make it stick, although he had little chance on any of the pucks that got past him. Samuel Ersson (lower body) has begun practicing and could be close to getting back in the crease, and Fedotov hasn't done much to stake a claim to a bigger role. Over four starts since Ersson was injured, Fedotov has posted a 3.37 GAA and an .891 save percentage.

  • Flyers' Ivan Fedotov: Tending twine Wednesday

Fedotov will defend the home crease against the Hurricanes on Wednesday, Jordan Hall of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports. Fedotov has been effective in recent outings, posting a 3-0-0 record, 2.22 GAA and .918 save percentage over his last three starts. The 27-year-old had been operating as the No. 2 netminder over the first month of the season but should see consistent playing time in the near future while Samuel Ersson (lower body) is on injured reserve.

  • Flyers' Ivan Fedotov: Bounce-back run continues

Fedotov stopped 23 of 25 shots in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Sabres. Fedotov gave up a power-play goal to Rasmus Dahlin and an even-strength tally to Ryan McLeod, both in the third period, but he was very good the rest of the way en route to his third straight win. The netminder owns a 2.22 GAA and a .918 save percentage amid his current winning streak, as he continues to turn his season around following a woeful start.

  • Flyers' Ivan Fedotov: Starting Saturday

Fedotov will patrol the home crease versus Buffalo on Saturday, Jordan Hall of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports. Fedotov has turned his season around in his last two starts, allowing five goals on 60 shots in wins over Tampa Bay and Ottawa. He started the season off slowly, losing all three starts while giving up 14 goals on 78 shots (.821 save percentage). The Sabres are averaging 3.41 goals per game.

  • Flyers' Ivan Fedotov: Nabs second straight win

Fedotov made 33 saves in Thursday's 5-4 overtime win over the Senators. Two of Ottawa's goals came on power plays, and Fedotov didn't have much chance on the even-strength tallies, either. The 27-year-old still came up with enough stops to earn his second straight win after an 0-3-0 start to the season. With Samuel Ersson (lower body) banged up again, Fedotov could be in line for more work in the short term, but his 3.99 GAA and .862 save percentage through five appearances remain discouraging from a fantasy perspective.

  • Flyers' Ivan Fedotov: In goal Thursday

Fedotov will get the starting nod on the road against Ottawa on Thursday. Fedotov has played just once in the Flyers' last nine games but impressed with a 22-save victory over the Lightning on Nov. 7. In his four appearances this year, the 27-year-old Finn is 1-3-0 with a 4.05 GAA and .851 save percentage. If he puts together another strong outing, Fedotov could be in the mix for a few more opportunities the rest of the way.

  • Flyers' Ivan Fedotov: Draws start Wednesday

Fedotov will serve as the starting goaltender for Wednesday's road game against Washington, Jordan Hall of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports. Fedotov will start between the pipes for the third time over the Flyers' first seven games of the season. The 27-year-old hasn't been particularly effective early in the year, posting a 0-2-0 record while allowing 10 goals on 55 shots (.818 save percentage) over his first two starts.

  • Flyers' Ivan Fedotov: Pulled after two periods

Fedotov allowed five goals on 24 shots over two periods of Thursday's 6-4 loss to the Kraken. Fedotov got the hook after the Kraken ran away with the game by virtue of an eruption of goals late in the second period. The 27-year-old hasn't looked good in his two starts this season, giving up 10 goals on 55 shots. Samuel Ersson has at least kept the Flyers competitive, and he may soon run away with the No. 1 job in goal. Ersson played the third period Thursday and is slated to start Saturday's home opener versus the Canucks.

  • Flyers' Ivan Fedotov: Lets in five goals in loss

Fedotov gave up five goals on 31 shots in Saturday's 6-3 loss to the Flames. The sixth goal was an empty-netter. Fedotov put in a decent effort, but the Flyers seemed to fade as a team in the third period of the second half of a back-to-back. Still, the Flyers never led in the contest. Fedotov's first start didn't help his cause to push Samuel Ersson for playing time, though it's possible this goalie situation turns into a tandem approach. The Flyers have a couple of days off before returning to action Tuesday in Edmonton.

  • Flyers' Ivan Fedotov: Tending twine Monday

Fedotov will start Monday's road preseason contest versus the Islanders, according to Jordan Hall of NBC Sports Philadelphia. Fedotov will make his third appearance of the preseason -- the 27-year-old made 25 saves on 27 shots in Saturday's overtime win versus Boston. The Russian netminder will start before turning the net over to Aleksei Kolosov.

  • Flyers' Ivan Fedotov: Tending twine Sunday

Fedotov will guard the road goal in Sunday's exhibition contest versus Washington, per Tom Gulitti of NHL.com. Fedotov will play the first two periods, and Carson Bjarnason will enter the contest in the third frame. The 27-year-old Fedotov earned a record of 0-1-1 with a 4.95 GAA and an .811 save percentage in three regular-season outings with the Flyers in 2023-24. He will likely begin the 2024-25 campaign as Samuel Ersson's backup.

  • Flyers' Ivan Fedotov: Secures two-year extension

Fedotov agreed to terms on a two-year, $6.5 million contract extension with Philadelphia on Tuesday, Darren Dreger of TSN reports. Fedotov played just three games for the Flyers this season after coming over from the KHL, going 0-1-1 with a 4.96 GAA and .811 save percentage. With an extension in hand, it seems Fedotov and Samuel Ersson will battle it out for the starting gig during training camp in the fall.
