Carlsson (undisclosed) will not dress against the Oilers on Sunday. Carlsson has been given periodic rest so far this season but it's unclear if he's dealing with an injury this time around or not. The rookie center has six goals and nine points through 16 games but has been held to two assists over his last five appearances. Anaheim's next game will be in Vancouver on Tuesday.... See More ... Ducks' Leo Carlsson: Healthy scratch Friday
Carlsson will sit out Friday's game versus Florida as a healthy scratch, Derek Lee of The Sporting Tribune reports. The Ducks are managing Carlsson's games this season as they do not want the 18-year-old to wear down as the campaign progresses. Carlsson was selected second overall in this year's Entry Draft and has six goals and eight points in just 11 games this season. He should return to his spot on the top line Sunday versus St. Louis.... See More ... See Less -
Ducks' Leo Carlsson: Deals power-play helper
Carlsson recorded a power-play assist and three shots on goal in Sunday's 4-1 win over the Sharks. Carlsson has played in eight straight games, racking up all but one of his eight points this season in that span. The 18-year-old is supposedly on a workload limit in the first half of the campaign, though it hasn't popped up lately. In addition to his offense, Carlsson has 23 shots on net and a minus-1 rating through 10 appearances. The Ducks have four games over the next seven days, so it's possible he could sit out one or more of those contests.... See More ... See Less -
Ducks' Leo Carlsson: Scores in NHL debut
Carlsson contributed a goal in a 3-2 loss to Dallas on Thursday. Carlsson, who was making his NHL debut, also finished with a plus-2 rating and two shots in 19:00 of ice time. He was getting a chance to play on the first line alongside Trevor Zegras and Troy Terry, which is a spot typically occupied by Adam Henrique, who was unavailable due to an illness. If Henrique is able to return for Saturday's contest versus Arizona, Carlsson may lose that first-line role, but the 18-year-old rookie should remain in the top six either way.... See More ... Ducks' Leo Carlsson: Debuting Thursday
Carlsson (lower body) will be activated from season-opening injured reserve to make his NHL debut Thursday versus the Stars. Carlsson has missed the Ducks' first two games after sustaining an injury in practice before the start of the season. The 18-year-old was selected second overall in this year's draft. He'll likely slot into a middle-six role and receive power-play time from the start as the Ducks look to get him acclimated to the NHL.... See More ... See Less -
Ducks' Leo Carlsson: Suffers lower-body injury
Carlsson (lower body) had to be helped off the ice at practice Friday, according to Felix Sicard of Crash the Pond. The good news is that the injury isn't as serious as first thought, per Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet, but an exact timeline is currently unclear. Carlsson lost an edge during a one-on-one drill and went heavily into the end boards during Friday's session. He is expected to start the 2023-24 campaign with the Ducks after being selected second overall in the 2023 NHL Draft. Carlsson has the potential to be an elite forward very quickly in his NHL career.... See More ... See Less
