  Perets was reassigned to AHL Chicago on Monday. Perets made a relief appearance against Florida on Saturday, surrendering one goal on seven shots in a 6-0 loss. Due to injuries to Pyotr Kochetkov (concussion) and Frederik Andersen (knee), Perets occupied the backup role behind Spencer Martin. However, Kochetkov returned to practice Monday and could be ready to play in Tuesday's home game versus Seattle.

• Hurricanes' Yaniv Perets: Appears in relief

  Perets stopped six of seven shots in relief in the third period of a 6-0 loss to Florida on Saturday. Perets was 1-2-0 with a 3.67 GAA and .825 save percentage with the AHL Chicago Wolves before his recent call-up to the Canes. The young netminder was thrown to the big cats Saturday -- the Panthers had put up five on Spencer Martin in the first two periods, and his Canes teammates didn't really show up at all during the game. Perets isn't a viable fantasy option right now, and his NHL future is likely limited to a backup role ... if he ever makes it.

Perets was recalled to back up Spencer Martin on Saturday, though it appears Pyotr Kochetkov (undisclosed) will be available ahead of Sunday's matchup with St. Louis. The 24-year-old Perets is 1-2-0 with an .825 save percentage in the AHL this year.

  Perets will start at home versus the Predators in Wednesday's preseason game, Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site reports. Perets will get the nod after Spencer Martin was placed on waivers Wednesday. Ultimately, both Martin and Perets are likely to begin 2024-25 with AHL Chicago. Perets played with ECHL Norfolk last year, going 18-11-3 with a 2.99 GAA and an .889 save percentage in 34 regular-season appearances and also made one NHL appearance when injuries impacted the Hurricanes' goaltending group.

  Perets was reassigned to ECHL Norfolk on Saturday, according to Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site. Perets saw his first NHL action Monday, as he came on in relief of Antti Raanta in the third period of a 5-2 loss to LA. Perets stopped the only shot he faced. Perets became redundant when the Hurricanes claimed Spencer Martin off waivers from Columbus on Friday.

  Perets was reassigned to ECHL Norfolk on Sunday, per PuckPedia. Perets backed up Pyotr Kochetkov over the last week but has yet to make his NHL debut. Perets produced a .916 save percentage and 2.38 GAA in 11 ECHL games prior to his stint with the Hurricanes.
