  • Canucks' Kevin Lankinen: Unable to withstand Tampa Bay

Lankinen conceded three goals on 31 shots Sunday in a 4-2 loss to the Lightning. The fourth goal was an empty-netter. Lankinen allowed just one goal at even strength in the defeat, but Tampa Bay's eighth-ranked power play was able to strike twice. The Finnish netminder is 5-1-1 over his last seven starts, but his workload will likely decrease in the near future -- Thatcher Demko returned from a knee injury Friday. Lankinen's strong play between the pipes (13-4-3 record, .908 save percentage and 2.65 GAA) has likely afforded Vancouver the luxury of easing Demko back into game action. If Demko can stay healthy, he and Lankinen form an extremely formidable tandem in goal.

  • Canucks' Kevin Lankinen: Guarding goal Sunday

Lankinen will patrol the home crease Sunday against Tampa Bay, per Brendan Batchelor of Sportsnet 650. Lankinen is coming off a 30-save performance in Friday's 5-2 win over Columbus. He has a 13-3-3 record with two shutouts, a 2.62 GAA and a .908 save percentage through 19 appearances this season. Lankinen has been superb for the Canucks and could share starts with Thatcher Demko as the latter works his way back to game speed after recovering from a knee injury.

  • Canucks' Kevin Lankinen: Sharp in win

Lankinen stopped 30 of 32 shots in Friday's 5-2 win over the Blue Jackets. The Blue Jackets came out hot with two goals in the first period, but Lankinen shut the door the rest of the way. The 29-year-old picked up his fifth win in the last six starts, though this was just the second time in that span he allowed fewer than three goals. He's now at 13-3-3 with a 2.62 GAA and a .908 save percentage over 19 appearances. Thatcher Demko (knee) served as backup Friday and will likely claim at least a 50-50 split in goal moving forward, though the Canucks have kept Arturs Silovs around for now as extra insurance in goal. It's possible Demko makes his season debut Sunday versus the Lightning.

  • Canucks' Kevin Lankinen: Set to face Columbus

Lankinen is expected to start at home against Columbus on Friday, per Thomas Drance of The Athletic. Lankinen has a 12-3-3 record, 2.66 GAA and .906 save percentage in 18 appearances in 2024-25. Those are acceptable numbers, but he's been vulnerable recently, allowing at least three goals in six of his past seven outings. Thatcher Demko (knee) will serve as the understudy Friday, and Demko's return will enable Vancouver to lean far less on Lankinen going forward. In the meantime, the Blue Jackets shouldn't be taken lightly. They rank eighth in goals per game with 3.44.

  • Canucks' Kevin Lankinen: Suffers OT loss

Lankinen stopped 26 of 29 shots in Tuesday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Wild. Lankinen was only a few seconds away from deciding the game in a shootout, but Kirill Kaprizov had other plans and blasted a wrister past him with only 24 seconds left in OT. That goal ended Lankinen's four-game winning streak, but one overtime loss shouldn't worry fantasy managers too much. The 29-year-old has been solid of late, going 6-3-1 with a 3.12 GAA with an .894 save percentage over his last 10 games, though those numbers improve to 4-0-1 with a 2.52 GAA and a .917 save percentage when analyzing his last five appearances.

Lankinen will defend the road net versus Minnesota on Tuesday, Brendan Batchelor of Sportsnet 650 reports. Lankinen has won his last four outings, stopping 117 of 127 shots. He has a 12-3-2 record with two shutouts, a 2.65 GAA and a .907 save percentage through 17 appearances this season. Minnesota sits 11th in the league with 3.21 goals per game in 2024-25.

  • Canucks' Kevin Lankinen: Four-game win streak

Lankinen made 27 saves on 31 shots in Sunday's 5-4 overtime win over the Red Wings. Lankinen has now won back-to-back games in overtime, and he extended his win streak to four in the process. In addition, Lankinen became the first goaltender in NHL history to win his first 10 road games to start the season. The 29-year-old has been a bargain for the Canucks on a one-year, $875,000 deal signed with the club in September -- he has 12 of Vancouver's 13 victories and is tied for second in the NHL in wins. Lankinen is up to a 12-3-2 record, .907 save percentage and 2.65 GAA through 17 appearances.

Lankinen will guard the road goal against Detroit on Sunday, Ansar Khan of MLive.com reports. Lankinen has won his last three starts, stopping 90 of 96 shots and posting one shutout. He has earned a record of 11-3-2 with two shutouts, a 2.57 GAA and a .909 save percentage through 16 appearances this season. Detroit ranks 25th in the league with 2.57 goals per game in 2024-25.

  • Canucks' Kevin Lankinen: Nabs third consecutive win

Lankinen stopped 31 of 34 shots in Friday's 4-3 overtime win over the Sabres. Lankinen picked up his third straight win Friday, and he's faced at least 29 shots in each game during that span while allowing a combined six goals on 95 shots. The 29-year-old could be relegated to the No. 2 netminding role in the near future, as Thatcher Demko (knee) is progressing toward making his 2024-25 debut. Lankinen is up to a 11-3-2 record, .909 save percentage and 2.57 GAA through 16 outings. The Finnish goaltender is tied for second in the NHL in wins (11) with Jake Oettinger and Sergei Bobrovsky.

  • Canucks' Kevin Lankinen: Starting Friday

Lankinen will patrol the road crease in Buffalo on Friday, Brian Koziol of WGR 550reports. Lankinen shut out the Bruins in his last start, turning aside 33 shots in a 2-0 victory. Lankinen is 10-3-2 with a pair of shutouts, a 2.56 GAA and a .909 save percentage across 15 starts in 2024-25. The Sabres are averaging 3.09 goals per game this season, 15th in the NHL.

  • Canucks' Kevin Lankinen: Posts 32-save shutout

Lankinen stopped all 32 shots he faced in a 2-0 win over the Bruins on Tuesday. Lankinen earned his second shutout this season, which was also the fifth of his career. This was a strong performance for the 29-year-old, as the Bruins outshot the Canucks 32-15 for the game. Lankinen is the seventh goalie to reach the 10-win mark this season, doing so in 15 games at a 10-3-2 record with a 2.56 GAA and a .909 save percentage. Thatcher Demko (knee) is making progress in his recovery, but Lankinen has played well enough as the No. 1 so far that it may benefit the Canucks to deploy those two goalies in a tandem once Demko comes off injured reserve. It'll likely be Arturs Silovs starting in goal Wednesday versus the Penguins.

  • Canucks' Kevin Lankinen: Guarding goal against Boston

Lankinen will patrol the blue paint in Tuesday's road matchup with the Bruins, Iain MacIntyre of Sportsnet relays. Lankinen rebounded in a 4-3 win over Ottawa on Saturday after allowing eight combined goals in back-to-back losses. The Finnish netminder is sporting a 9-3-2 record, .901 save percentage and 2.74 GAA through 14 appearances. The 29-year-old will face a Bruins club that ranks 32nd in the NHL with 2.32 goals per game through 22 contests.

  • Canucks' Kevin Lankinen: Bends but doesn't break in barrage

Lankinen made 26 saves in a 4-3 win over Ottawa on Saturday. He bent but didn't break late in the third period when the Senators stormed the castle. Lankinen allowed two late goals in a 2:47 span with the Sens net empty and the extra attacker on the ice. One of those goals came while the Sens were up six-on-four, and Lanks barely had a chance. Still, it was a strong rebound for Lankinen, who'd been lit up for 16 goals in his previous four games. His play continues to give the Orcas a chance while Thatcher Demko (knee) is on IR.

Lankinen will protect the road net versus Ottawa on Saturday, according to Iain MacIntyre of Sportsnet. Lankinen has lost his last two outings, surrendering eight goals on 52 shots. He has posted a mark of 8-3-2 with one shutout, a 2.71 GAA and a .902 save percentage through 13 appearances this season. Ottawa sits 15th in the league with 3.11 goals per game in 2024-25.

  • Canucks' Kevin Lankinen: Bested by former team

Lankinen stopped 16 of 20 shots in Sunday's 5-3 loss to the Predators. The fifth goal was an empty-netter. Lankinen's former team got the better of him Sunday, though three of the four goals he let in were to players that weren't in Nashville last season. The 29-year-old has allowed at least four goals in three of his last four starts. He's down to an 8-3-2 record with a 2.71 GAA and a .901 save percentage through 13 games. Those are fine numbers, but Lankinen is trending in the wrong direction and may cede the crease to Arturs Silovs more regularly until a hot hand emerges between the two of them.

  • Canucks' Kevin Lankinen: Between pipes versus Nashville

Lankinen will defend the home crease Sunday against the Predators, Ben Kuzma of Postmedia reports. Lankinen will have a chance to get back in the win column Sunday against one of his former teams -- the Finnish netminder spent the past two seasons with the Predators. The 29-year-old sports an 8-2-2 record, .907 save percentage and 2.60 GAA through 12 outings with Vancouver. Nashville ranks last in the NHL with 2.28 goals per game across 18 contests.

  • Canucks' Kevin Lankinen: Yields four goals in loss

Lankinen stopped 27 of 31 shots in Thursday's 5-2 loss to the Islanders. The fifth goal was an empty-netter. The Canucks were listless through two periods before finding a bit more juice in the third. The damage had already been done, and Lankinen ended up on the hook for his second regulation loss in three games. The 29-year-old is 8-2-2 on the year while posting a 2.60 GAA and a .907 save percentage over 12 contests, but he's started to turn inconsistent amid his heavy workload early in the season. Arturs Silovs hasn't put in a competitive effort in the backup role, so Lankinen is likely to continue starting regularly. Both goalies should feature during this weekend's back-to-back as the Canucks host the Blackhawks on Saturday and the Predators on Sunday.

  • Canucks' Kevin Lankinen: Bounces back Tuesday

Lankinen stopped 28 of 29 shots in Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Flames. Lankinen was pulled from his last start, and that appears to have been enough to get him back on track. He's won four of his last five outings, allowing a total of 13 goals in that span, including seven tallies in the one loss. For the season, the Finn is 8-1-2 with a 2.46 GAA and a .911 save percentage through 11 appearances. The Canucks' next game is Thursday versus the Islanders.

Lankinen was the first goalie off the ice at the morning skate, according to Thomas Drance of The Athletic, indicating he will defend the road net Tuesday versus Calgary. During his last outing, Lankinen permitted seven goals on 27 shots in a 7-3 loss to Edmonton before being pulled in the third period. He has a 7-1-2 record with one shutout, a 2.61 GAA and a .905 save percentage in 10 appearances this campaign. Calgary is coming off a 3-1 win over the Kings on Monday.

  • Canucks' Kevin Lankinen: Pulled in third period

Lankinen stopped 20 of 27 shots before he was pulled in the third period of Saturday's 7-3 loss to the Oilers. Lankinen was handed his first regulation loss of the season, and it was ugly. The Oilers scored four times in a span of 4:55 during the third period to chase him from the contest. Lankinen is now 7-1-2 with a 2.61 GAA and a .905 save percentage through 10 start this season, numbers in line with his typical level of performance. He'd been much better than that prior to Saturday, and he could get the chance to bounce back Tuesday against another division rival, the Flames, if he gets the start for that contest.
