Hurricanes' Juha Jaaska: On waivers Tuesday
Jaaska (undisclosed) was placed on waivers by the Canes on Tuesday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.
Evidently, Jaaska has been given the green light by Carolina's medical team and will be headed to the minors, assuming he clears waivers. In his 18 regular-season games with the Canes last year, the 27-year-old winger registered four assists, 20 hits and 11 shots while averaging 8:56 of ice time.

Jaaska (undisclosed) was placed on the injured non-roster list Monday.

Jaaska (undisclosed) has been ruled out for Saturday's preseason finale against Nashville, Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site reports.
Jaaska continues to deal with an undisclosed injury, and he'll be held out of a fourth consecutive matchup to close out the regular season. Hurricanes' Juha Jaaska: Won't play against Florida
Jaaska (undisclosed) has been ruled out for Monday's preseason game against the Panthers, Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site reports.
Jaaska has been dealing with an undisclosed injury for the past week and will be forced to miss the Hurricanes' penultimate preseason matchup. He's still considered day-to-day, but it's not yet clear whether he'll be available for Saturday's preseason finale in Nashville. Regardless of whether he's able to suit up, he'll presumably head to AHL Chicago to begin the regular season.

Hurricanes' Juha Jaaska: Unavailable versus Bolts
Jaaska (undisclosed) won't play in Friday's preseason matchup versus Tampa Bay, Benjamin Pierce of the Lightning's official site reports.
Jaaska was already facing an uphill battle when it came to securing a spot on the Opening Night roster. Now with his continued absence, the 27-year-old winger will almost certainly have to start the 2025-26 campaign in the minors with AHL Chicago. As such, Jaaska figures to be a relative non-factor in fantasy contests this season.

Hurricanes' Juha Jaaska: Day-to-day with undisclosed injury
Jaaska won't face Tampa Bay on Monday due to an undisclosed injury but is considered day-to-day.
Jaaska played in 18 regular-season games for the Hurricanes last year in which he tallied four assists, 20 hits and 11 shots while averaging 8:56 of ice time. The 27-year-old winger probably can't afford to miss too much playing time if he is going to secure a spot on the Opening Night roster. At this point, fantasy managers should probably be expecting Jaaska to play the bulk of 2025-26 in the minors.

Hurricanes' Juha Jaaska: Signs two-year extension
Jaaska signed a two-year contract extension with the Hurricanes on Thursday.
Jaaska spent last season with Carolina on a one-year, entry-level contract, and he recorded four assists, 20 hits, nine PIM and three blocked shots while averaging 8:56 of ice time over 18 appearances with the NHL club. The first year of his contract extension is a two-way deal worth at least $425,000, while the second year of the agreement is a one-way deal worth $775,000. While he could split time between the NHL and AHL next season, he should continue to have opportunities to develop before likely joining the Hurricanes in a more full-time capacity during the 2026-27 campaign.

Jaaska was an option for Sunday's contest in Anaheim due to a couple of game-time decisions for the Hurricanes, but those players ended up being available. Jaaska will link back up with the Wolves, with whom he's generated 10 goals and 24 points across 41 outings. He has four assists over 18 appearances with the Hurricanes in 2024-25.

Hurricanes' Juha Jaaska: Gets call-up Friday
Jaaska was recalled from AHL Chicago on Friday.
Jaaska earned four assists over 17 outings with the big club earlier in the season. The 27-year-old appears to be an extra forward for the weekend back-to-back with games in Los Angeles on Saturday and in Anaheim on Sunday. However, he could draw in if there's a yet-to-be-announced injury affecting one of the Hurricanes' forwards.

Hurricanes' Juha Jaaska: Misses practice Monday
Jaaska wasn't on the ice for practice Monday due to an illness, Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site reports.
Jaaska has yet to score a goal in 15 appearances for the Hurricanes this season, though he has registered three assists, 17 hits and 11 shots over that stretch. At this point, even if Jaaska is healthy enough to face Winnipeg on Tuesday, he figures to be stuck in a bottom-six role, making him a fringe fantasy option.

Hurricanes' Juha Jaaska: Two helpers in Thursday's win
Jaaska collected two assists, including one shorthanded, in Thursday's 3-2 win over Chicago.
The 26-year-old rookie set up Seth Jarvis for a shortie to open the scoring late in the first period before having a hand in Jaccob Slavin's game-winner early in the second. Jaaska has just one other point, an assist, over his first 14 NHL games, and he'll likely head back to AHL Chicago once the Hurricanes' forward ranks get healthier.

Hurricanes' Juha Jaaska: Earns first NHL point
Jaaska notched an assist in Thursday's 6-3 win over the Maple Leafs.
The helper was Jaaska's first point in four NHL appearances. The 26-year-old forward is filling a fourth-line role while Tyson Jost (lower body) and William Carrier (lower body) are sidelined. Jaaska has shown a scoring touch with 16 points over 26 AHL appearances, but his ice time is likely to be too limited with the Hurricanes to make him much of a factor in fantasy.

Hurricanes' Juha Jaaska: Headed back to minors
Jaaska was reassigned to AHL Chicago on Friday.
Jaaska made his NHL debut versus the Panthers on Thursday, registering three hits in 8:21 of ice time. It seemed like the 26-year-old winger might stick around for a bit in light of Tyson Jost's undisclosed injury, but it seems the return of Jack Drury (hand) will relegate Jaaska back to the minors.

Hurricanes' Juha Jaaska: Joins big club
Jaaska was called up from AHL Chicago on Wednesday, Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site reports.
The fact the Hurricanes made a move for a forward means Tyson Jost (undisclosed) is likely to miss at least one game after getting hurt Tuesday versus the Blue Jackets. Jaaska has done well in his first taste of North American hockey, picking up 16 points over 25 appearances with the Wolves. The 26-year-old forward is likely to slot into a fourth-line role for Thursday's game versus Panthers.
