Hughes scored a goal on six shots and added two assists in Tuesday's 6-5 win over the Canucks. Hughes even finished with the most points of any member of his family in the game -- teammate Luke Hughes had one goal while the Canucks' Quinn Hughes racked up two assists. The 22-year-old center has four goals and seven assists over his last five games. This was Hughes' 10th multi-point effort of the season. He's up to 10 goals, 23 assists, 87 shots on net and a plus-1 rating through 18 appearances in a top-six role.... See More ... See Less

Devils' Jack Hughes: Scores in Friday's loss
Hughes scored a goal on six shots and went minus-2 in Friday's 6-3 loss to the Sharks. Hughes has three goals and five assists during his four-game point streak. He's also gone plus-5 with 29 shots on net in that span. The 22-year-old missed five games with a shoulder injury in November, but he's picked up right where he left off since returning. The center is up to nine goals, 30 points, 81 shots and an even plus-minus rating through 17 appearances overall. Even with the missed time, he has a chance for a 100-point campaign in 2023-24.... Devils' Jack Hughes: Three-game, seven-point streak
Hughes had a goal and two assists in a 4-3 overtime win over the Flyers on Thursday. Hughes even set up his younger brother, Luke Hughes, on the winner in overtime. Jack is on a three-game, seven-point streak that includes two goals and five assists. And he has nine points, including six assists, in six games since returning from injury. Hughes is back. His two assists Thursday give him 21 in 16 games. That's the fewest games needed to reach 20 assists in a season in Devils history. The previous mark was 22 games by Scott Gomez (1999-2000), Bruce Driver (1989-90) and Kirk Muller (1987-88).... See More ... See Less -
Devils' Jack Hughes: Three points in win over Isles
Hughes scored a goal on a game-high nine shots on net and added two assists, one on the power play, in Tuesday's 5-4 win over the Islanders. The 22-year-old sparked a third-period comeback for the Devils by snapping a one-timer off the post and past Ilya Sorokin. Hughes has two goals and six points in five games since returning from a shoulder injury, and staying healthy would seem to be the only obstacle between him and the first 100-point campaign of his career -- he has seven goals and 26 points in 15 contests.... Devils' Jack Hughes: Returns with bang
Hughes (shoulder) had a goal and an assist in a 5-3 loss to the Rangers on Saturday. Hughes played like he hadn't missed a shift, let alone five games due to injury. He had 14 shot attempts, eight on goal, in 22:40 of ice time. Prior to his injury, Hughes was on a Hart march, and it will take a bit for him to get back to the top of the NHL scoring list. But he's only five points (22) from the lead (27) right now, and with his talent, it may not take long.... See More ... See Less -
Devils' Jack Hughes: Expected to play
Hughes (shoulder) took line rushes during warmups and is expected to play Saturday versus the Rangers, Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site reports. The Devils have just 12 forwards on the ice for warmups, which is a strong indication Hughes is set to return. The 22-year-old missed five games while dealing with the shoulder injury, and barring a last-minute scratch, he should be able to take on a top-line role with ample power-play time to give the Devils' offense a big boost.... Devils' Jack Hughes: Game-time decision Saturday
Per Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site, Hughes (shoulder) will be a game-time decision versus the Rangers on Saturday. Hughes returned to practice Friday for the first time since suffering the injury two weeks ago. Hughes was leading the NHL in points with 20 in 10 games before his injury, and he's still tied for 15th place in the early going. Hughes has two goals and 10 assists on the power play -- he's become a top-five forward in the NHL at the tender age of 22.... See More ... See Less -
Devils' Jack Hughes: Not ready to play
Hughes (shoulder) isn't ready to return Thursday against Pittsburgh, according to Erika Wachter Barnes of the NHL Network. Hughes will miss his fifth consecutive game. He was off to a fantastic start before getting hurt, providing five goals and 20 points through 10 contests. Once he's healthy, Hughes will resume his role on the top line and first power-play unit. His next chance to play will be Saturday versus the Rangers.... See More ... See Less -
Devils' Jack Hughes: Won't face Jets
Hughes (shoulder) won't travel to face Winnipeg on Tuesday but could link up with the club for Thursday's trip to Pittsburgh, Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site reports. Hughes will be out of action for his fourth consecutive contest but appears to be trending in the right direction. It's been a strong start to the season for the 22-year-old center, as he has recorded a point in eight of his 10 games this season for a combined five goals and 15 assists, including 12 power-play points.... Devils' Jack Hughes: Dealing with shoulder injury
Hughes, who is considered week-to-week, is dealing with a right shoulder injury, according to Ryan Novozinsky of the Star-Ledger. Hughes was injured early in Friday's 4-1 loss to the Blues. He has amassed 15 assists and 20 points through 10 appearances this season. With Nico Hischier (upper body) also unavailable, New Jersey has been utilizing Dawson Mercer and Michael McLeod as top-six centers.... See More ... See Less -
Devils' Jack Hughes: Injury not as bad as feared
Hughes is expected to miss Sunday's game versus Chicago, but his upper-body injury isn't as bad as it could have been, according to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet. Hughes sustained the injury during Friday's 4-1 loss to St. Louis. He's been off to a tremendous start, scoring five goals and 20 points in 10 contests. Hughes is the cornerstone of the Devils' offense, so if his absence proves to be short, then that will be a great relief for New Jersey. While he's unavailable, Michael McLeod, who has averaged 13:32 of ice time this season, might be asked to play a bigger role.... See More ... See Less -
Devils' Jack Hughes: Leaves Friday's game
Hughes (upper body) will not return to Friday's tilt against the Blues, Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site reports. Hughes took a tumble into the boards and saw one more shift in the first period before heading back to the locker room. He logged 3:55 of ice time prior to exiting the game. The star center has five goals and 20 points through 10 appearances this season. New Jersey's next game is Sunday against Chicago.... See More ... See Less -

Hughes recorded two assists in a 5-3 win over Minnesota on Thursday. Both of Hughes' helpers were registered with the man advantage. He's up to five goals and 20 points in nine outings this season, including 12 power-play points. The 22-year-old is the first player to reach the 20-point milestone in 2023-24 and might continue to compete for the scoring title all year.... See More ... See Less -
Devils' Jack Hughes: Strikes on power play
Hughes scored a power-play goal on two shots in Friday's 5-4 win over the Sabres. This was just the second time all year Hughes has been limited to one point in a contest, and he's working on a seven-game point streak to start the season. He scored at 2:09 of the third period to give the Devils a 4-3 lead. The 22-year-old center has found another gear to his game this season, racking up five goals and 13 helpers through seven contests. He's earned 10 of his points on the power play while adding 30 shots on net and an even plus-minus rating.... See More ... See Less -
Devils' Jack Hughes: Four helpers in Tuesday's win
Hughes piled up four assists, two on the power play, in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Canadiens. With the score tied 1-1 late in the second period Hughes got to work, setting up Tyler Toffoli for the first goal of his hat trick before Hughes dished three more helpers in the third. The 22-year-old appears ready to break into the upper echelon of the NHL scoring race this season, and Hughes already has four goals and 14 points in his first five games.... See More ... See Less -
Devils' Jack Hughes: One-man wrecking crew in OT win
Hughes posted two goals and four points in Friday's 5-4 overtime win against the Islanders. Hughes bagged a power-play goal early in the third period while adding a pair of assists on the man advantage in regulation. He saved his best for last, though, posting his fourth goal of the season with the game-winning goal in overtime. He also had six shots on goal and a hit in his 24:21 of ice time while logging his third multi-point game through just four outings this season. He and the Devils are back on the ice Tuesday in Montreal.... See More ... See Less -

Hughes was good for three assists in Friday's 4-3 shootout loss against the Coyotes. Hughes also ended up with a plus-1 rating and six shots on goal. Two of his helpers came on the man advantage to give him three power-play points through two games. However, he did struggle in the faceoff circle, going just 5-for-17. The Devils are back at it Monday against the Panthers.... See More ... See Less -
Devils' Jack Hughes: Good to go for 2023-24
Hughes has recovered from the shoulder injury that bothered him in the Devils' second-round playoff exit against the Hurricanes, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports. Hughes admitted he wasn't 100 percent for the Devils' Game 5 elimination against the Hurricanes. A full summer to recover has done him well, and the 22-year-old will look to build on last season, which saw him score 43 goals and add 56 assists in a career-high 78 games. Fantasy managers can draft Hughes confidently with an early-round pick, as he boasts a top-line spot on one of the league's best young offenses.... See More ... See Less -
