  • John Marino: Traded to Utah

Marino and the No. 153 overall pick in the 2024 NHL Draft were acquired by Utah on Saturday from New Jersey in exchange for the No. 49 overall selection in 2024 and a 2025 second-round choice. Marino produced four goals, 25 points and 89 blocked shots in 75 games during the 2023-4 campaign. He is coming off a down season, but has had previous success while seeing tough minutes. Marino could be a bounce-back candidate in Utah.

Marino (upper body) will be back in action Tuesday against Toronto, per Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site. • Devils' John Marino: Not available Saturday

Marino (undisclosed) will be missing from the lineup Saturday in Ottawa, according to Sam Kasan of the Devils' official site. Marino is considered questionable for Sunday's tilt versus Nashville. He was injured during Wednesday's brawl against the Rangers after being tossed out of the game with a major and a misconduct penalty just two seconds into the opening period. Marino has four goals and 21 assists in 71 games this season. Look for Nick DeSimone to replace him in the lineup.

  • Devils' John Marino: In doubt Saturday

Marino is questionable to play against Ottawa on Saturday due to an undisclosed injury, Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site reports. Marino's absence comes after he was ejected against the Rangers on Wednesday following a full-line brawl at puck drop. The blueliner is currently stuck in a 23-game goal drought during which he's recorded a mere 14 shots. If Marino doesn't play Saturday, it would likely lead to Nick DeSimone, who was a healthy scratch for the previous two contests, entering the lineup.

  • Devils' John Marino: Provides goal vs. Columbus

Marino collected a goal in a 4-1 win over Columbus on Friday. The Devils entered the second period down 1-0, but Marino was able to tie the game just 28 seconds into that frame. It was his third marker and 15th point in 43 outings in 2023-24. • Devils' John Marino: Pots empty-netter against Panthers

Marino scored his second goal of the season in Saturday's 4-1 win over Florida. The 26-year-old blueliner capped the scoring with an empty-net tally, jamming home a close-range shot as the Devils pressed for an insurance goal. Marino has gotten onto the scoresheet with a goal and an assist in the last two games after snapping a 13-game point drought, and while he plays big minutes for New Jersey -- he led the team in ice time Saturday at 25:35 -- he offers little fantasy upside, managing 14 points in 40 games with 49 blocked shots, 29 shots on net and a minus-4 rating.

  • Devils' John Marino: Sends helper in win

Marino logged an assist and blocked two shots in Thursday's 2-1 win over the Kraken. Marino snapped a nine-game point drought with the primary helper on Ondrej Palat's first-period goal. While Marino was solid over the first month of the campaign, consistent offense is not his calling card. The 26-year-old defenseman is up to 11 points, 18 shots on net, 31 blocked shots, 10 PIM and an even plus-minus rating. It'll take all of the Devils' blueliners to make up for the absence of Dougie Hamilton (pectoral), and Marino is likely to make his impact felt more in the defensive zone.
