  • Bruins' Jeremy Swayman: Needs more help from teammates

Swayman made 23 saves in a 4-0 loss to Toronto on Tuesday. He allowed three goals. Swayman has been solid enough this year, but he's playing in a different context than he has in past seasons. And that spells struggle. The Bruins' blue line has been a shadow of its past self, and the newly-arrived Nikita Zadorov looks a bit lost as he learns the team's systems. And that has contributed to Swayman's 2-5-1 record in his last eight starts. He's a strong goalie, but he will have to do more of the work himself to get strong ratios for you.

  • Bruins' Jeremy Swayman: Starting in Toronto

Swayman will defend the road net Tuesday against the Maple Leafs. Swayman is coming off a 23-save shutout win over Seattle on Sunday. He has a 4-4-1 record with a 3.16 GAA and an .895 save percentage through nine appearances this season. Swayman made 20 stops in a 4-3 overtime win over Toronto on Oct. 26.

  • Bruins' Jeremy Swayman: Shuts out Kraken

Swayman posted a 23-save shutout in Sunday's 2-0 win over the Kraken. Swayman was pulled from his last start, but he responded with his best outing of the season. The 25-year-old has had an uneven start to the year after missing all of training camp to hammer out a new contract. He improved to 4-4-1 with a 3.16 GAA and an .895 save percentage over nine games. Considering the Bruins signed Swayman to an eight-year deal to end the standoff, he'll be given every opportunity to play through his early struggles.

  • Bruins' Jeremy Swayman: Facing Seattle

Swayman will patrol the home crease Sunday against the Kraken, according to Steve Conroy of the Boston Herald. Swayman will get the second half of Boston's back-to-back after Joonas Korpisalo posted a 20-save shutout win over Philadelphia on Saturday. The 25-year-old Swayman has a 3-4-1 record with a 3.57 GAA and an .884 save percentage through eight appearances this season. Seattle is tied for 17th in the league with 3.00 goals per game in 2024-25.

  • Bruins' Jeremy Swayman: Gets hook in Carolina

Swayman gave up six goals on 22 shots before being replaced by Joonas Korpisalo midway through the second period of Thursday's 8-2 loss to the Hurricanes. Four of the six tallies against Swayman came when Boston was down a man, either shorthanded or on a delayed penalty call, and the switch in the crease had little to do with his own performance. Even so, the 25-year-old goalie has dropped four of his last five decisions, and he sports a 3-4-1 record through eight starts with a shaky 3.58 GAA and .884 save percentage. However, Swayman's spot at the top of the depth chart seems secure, both due to his hefty new contract and the fact that Korpisalo is putting very little pressure on him for the No. 1 job.

  • Bruins' Jeremy Swayman: Between pipes Thursday

Swayman will defend the visiting crease in Carolina on Thursday, according to Jim McBride of the Boston Globe. Swayman has struggled this season after missing all of training camp due to contract negotiations for the restricted free agent. Swayman is 3-3-1 with a 2.97 GAA and a .900 save percentage, the worst stats in his young career. He will get a chance to turn things around against a tough Carolina squad that has scored 27 goals in eight games.

  • Bruins' Jeremy Swayman: Snaps four-game slide

Swayman made 20 saves in a 4-3 overtime win over Toronto on Saturday. Swayman came close to earning a regulation win, but Auston Matthews redirected a pass past him at 18:43 of the third period. The 25-year-old Swayman was excellent during a 5-on-3 power play for the Leafs in the first period when he turned away great shots from Matthews and William Nylander. Swayman ended his four-game winless skid to improve to 3-3-1 this season with a 2.97 GAA and a .900 save percentage.

  • Bruins' Jeremy Swayman: Back at it Saturday

Swayman will guard the home net Saturday against the Maple Leafs. Swayman's dropped his last four starts, allowing 13 goals on 130 shots in that span. The 25-year-old netminder will look to snap his losing streak against a Maple Leafs team that's scored just three goals in its last two games.

  • Bruins' Jeremy Swayman: Falls to Stars

Swayman stopped 27 of 31 shots during Thursday's 5-2 loss to Dallas, with the Stars' final goal getting scored into an empty net. The netminder was put in some tough spots by an undisciplined Boston squad, as Dallas scored three straight power-play goals to begin the second period and blow open a 1-1 tie. Swayman has gone four straight starts without a win, posting an 0-3-1 record with a 3.27 GAA and .900 save percentage over that stretch, but his hold on the No. 1 job in the Bruins' crease is in little jeopardy -- Joonas Korpisalo has coughed up nine goals on 60 shots in his two appearances so far this season.

  • Bruins' Jeremy Swayman: Doesn't receive support Tuesday

Swayman gave up three goals on 41 shots in Tuesday's 4-0 loss to the Predators. The fourth goal was an empty-netter with 6:04 left in the third period. Swayman has lost his last three starts, including one in overtime, and he's posted a 2.99 GAA with a .909 save percentage during the recent skid. Things won't get easier for Swayman and the Bruins, with an upcoming matchup against the Stars set for Thursday. It's unclear if he'll remain between the pipes or if he'll get some rest.

  • Bruins' Jeremy Swayman: Guarding cage versus Predators

Swayman will protect the road goal Tuesday versus the Predators, Brooks Bratten of the Predators' official site reports. Swayman has started the year 2-1-1 with 11 goals allowed over four starts. The 25-year-old draws what looks to be a favorable matchup, as the Predators have started the season 0-5-0.

  • Bruins' Jeremy Swayman: Takes overtime loss

Swayman stopped 30 of 32 shots in Saturday's 2-1 overtime loss to Utah. It was a low-scoring game, though Boston led for about 22 minutes after Cole Koepke's second-period tally. Vladislav Kolyachonok tied it for Utah in the third period, and Michael Kesselring won it in overtime. Despite the defeat, Swayman remains in good shape as the Bruins' top goalie. He's 2-1-1 with 11 goals allowed on 116 shots across his four starts this season. The Bruins wrap up their three-game road trip Tuesday when they visit the winless Predators.

  • Bruins' Jeremy Swayman: Starting in Utah

Swayman is on track to guard the road goal against Utah on Saturday, Joe McDonald of RIGAlinks.com reports. Swayman has gotten off to a rocky start, giving up four goals in two of his three starts. Swayman did not partake in the preseason as he didn't ink a contract until the end of training camp Oct. 6. The netminder is 2-1-0 with a 2.98 GAA and an .893 save percentage this season. He faces the upstart Utah HC, who are averaging 4.00 goals per game.

  • Bruins' Jeremy Swayman: Concedes four goals in defeat

Swayman gave up four goals on 26 shots in a 4-3 defeat to Florida on Monday. Swayman stopped 19 of 21 shots at even strength while also giving up a power-play goal and a shorthanded goal to Sam Reinhart. It was the first loss of the year for the 25-year-old backstop but the second time in three games in which he has given up four goals to the opposition. The Bruins head into a three-game road trip starting against Colorado on Wednesday. It wouldn't be surprising to see Swayman take two of those contests while Joonas Korpisalo gets the other one -- though nothing has been confirmed by the club, and the Bruins have two days off between each game during the trip.

  • Bruins' Jeremy Swayman: Tending twine Monday

Swayman will defend the home cage against the Panthers on Monday, Steve Goldstein of Bally Sports Florida reports. Swayman is riding a two-game winning streak to open the season while posting a 2.44 GAA and .914 save percentage. The 25-year-old backstop will face his stiffest test of the season Monday versus the defending Stanley Cup champions -- though Florida will be without Aleksander Barkov (lower body) and Matthew Tkachuk (illness). With Swayman not having gotten any work in during preseason, it wouldn't be surprising to see Joonas Korpisalo take one game during the Bruins' upcoming three-game road trip.

  • Bruins' Jeremy Swayman: Superb in overtime victory

Swayman made 33 saves in a 2-1 overtime win over the Kings on Saturday. Despite surrendering the opening goal to Trevor Moore at the 5:22 mark of the second period, Swayman and the Bruins rebounded to secure the victory. The 25-year-old netminder has a 2-0-0 record to start the 2024-25 campaign, permitting five goals on 58 shots.

  • Bruins' Jeremy Swayman: Starting vs. Kings

Swayman will guard the home net Saturday against Los Angeles, Conor Ryan of The Boston Globe reports. Swayman struggled a bit in his first start Thursday, allowing four goals on 24 shots versus Montreal, though he'd eventually come away with a 6-4 win. Swayman went 25-10-8 with a 2.53 GAA and a .916 save percentage over 44 regular-season appearances in 2023-24.

  • Bruins' Jeremy Swayman: Gets start Thursday

Swayman will defend the home crease versus Montreal on Thursday, per Conor Ryan of The Boston Globe. Swayman will make his first start of the season after inking an eight-year contract Sunday. The 25-year-old takes over as the No. 1 netminder with the Bruins after sharing the net with the departed Linus Ullmark over the last three seasons. Swayman was outstanding last year, going 25-10-8 with a 2.53 GAA and a .916 save percentage in 44 regular-season appearances. He faces the Canadiens, who beat the Maple Leafs 1-0 on Wednesday, despite giving up 47 shots on goal.

  • Bruins' Jeremy Swayman: Inks eight-year contract

Swayman signed an eight-year, $66 million contract with Boston on Sunday. Swayman missed all of training camp due to a contract holdout, so he may need additional time to return to game speed. As a result, Joonas Korpisalo could start Opening Night in Florida on Tuesday. The 25-year-old Swayman posted a 25-10-8 record with three shutouts, a 2.53 GAA and a .916 save percentage across 44 appearances during the 2023-24 regular season. His workload should increase this campaign after the Bruins traded Linus Ullmark to Ottawa in June.

  • Bruins' Jeremy Swayman: Remains unsigned

Swayman and the Bruins have yet to come to terms on a new contract, meaning the netminder won't report to training camp, Conor Ryan of The Boston Globe reports Wednesday. Swayman is poised to take over as the No. 1 backstop in Boston this season after Linus Ullmark was shipped off to Ottawa. Fantasy managers probably don't need to start worrying just yet, but Swayman's absence from the early days of camp could set him up for a slow start to the 2024-25 season. If his negotiations drag on into the regular season, look for Joonas Korpisalo to temporarily take the reigns.
