Filipe signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Bruins on Monday.
Filipe was taken in the third round of the 2016 NHL Entry Draft by the Hurricanes but he's yet to make his NHL debut. The 24-year-old forward has spent the last two seasons with AHL Providence after a four-year career at Northeastern University. He should continue to serve as an organizational depth piece for Boston.
