Letang is up to seven points, 20 shots on net, 16 hits, 15 blocked shots and a plus-3 rating through 11 outings. The goal was Letang's first of the season, and he's picked up two points over his last three outings. The defenseman is at six points, 18 shots on net, 15 hits, 13 blocked shots, eight PIM and a plus-2 rating through 10 contests. All of his offense has come at even strength.... See More ... Penguins' Kris Letang: Available Saturday
Coach Mike Sullivan said Friday that Letang (lower body) will be available to play Saturday versus the Blues, Wes Crosby of NHL.com reports. Letang was injured Wednesday and missed practice Thursday before returning to the ice Friday. The defenseman has three assists in four games but has lost some fantasy value, as he is playing on the second power play. He lost his spot on the first unit when the Penguins dealt for Erik Karlsson in the offseason.... See More ... See Less -

Penguins' Kris Letang: Suffers lower-body injury
Letang suffered a lower-body injury Wednesday against Detroit and was not at practice Thursday, according to Dave Molinari of Pittsburgh Hockey Now. Letang managed to play the whole game as he saw 24:35 of action versus the Red Wings. Letang has three assists in four games thus far, although he has lost his spot on the first power play to Erik Karlsson. Letang should be considered day-to-day at this time.... See More ... Penguins' Kris Letang: Remains on top power play
Letang played on the left flank of the first power-play unit at practice Wednesday, Wes Crosby of NHL.com reports. Letang has quarterbacked the Penguins power play during most of his 17-year NHL career, but with Erik Karlsson now in Pittsburgh, Letang has been moved from his usual spot on the point to the left flank. It was thought that Letang would quarterback the second unit when Karlsson was traded to the Penguins, but if this setup persists, Letang will maintain a lot of his fantasy value as he'll still be playing alongside Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin with the man advantage. Letang had 12 goals and 41 points in 64 games last season, including 21 power-play points.... See More ... See Less -
Penguins' Kris Letang: Two PP points Thursday
Letang picked up a goal and an assist, both on the power play, in Thursday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Blue Jackets. The veteran blueliner opened the scoring early in the first period, as his point shot was deflected home by Columbus defenseman Andrew Peeke. Letang has had a tough season both on and off the ice, and his 41 points (12 goals, 29 helpers) through 64 games is his worst total since 2016-17, when he suited up for only 41 contests.... Penguins' Kris Letang: Goal and assist in victory
Letang scored a goal and an assist on five shots, fueling the Penguins to a 4-1 win over the Wild on Thursday. Letang opened the scoring Thursday, beating Marc-Andre Fleury with a sharp-angle shot. The Canadian defenceman would also add an assist on Rickard Rakell's power-play goal. This snaps a three-game point drought for Letang and gives him his first points in the month of April. On the season, Letang has 11 goals and 38 points in 61 games.... See More ... See Less -
Penguins' Kris Letang: Three points in loss
Letang tallied a goal and two assists in Tuesday's 6-4 loss to Montreal. Letang set up Evgeni Malkin's power-play goal in the first period before scoring in the second, firing a shot through traffic that found its way to the back of the net. He'd add a third point later in the frame with another power-play helper on Jake Guentzel's tally. Letang continues to offer solid production from the blue line in his age-35 season, with 10 goals and 24 assists through 49 games.... See More ... See Less -
Penguins' Kris Letang: Exits contest
Letang was struck in the face by a puck and left Thursday's game versus the Lightning, Rob Rossi of The Athletic reports. A shot attempt from the Lightning ramped up and hit Letang in the face just a few seconds after he had blocked a shot with his hand. The Penguins haven't provided an official update on his status, but one should be available before the team's road-trip finale Saturday versus the Panthers.... See More ... See Less -

Letang (illness) "has a chance" to play Saturday against the Kings, Josh Yohe of The Athletic reports. Letang was a late scratch Friday and was replaced by Mark Friedman. Penguins' Kris Letang: Dazzles in emotional return
Letang scored two goals, including the overtime winner, and added two assists in Tuesday's 7-6 victory over the Panthers. One of the helpers and the OT winner came on the power play, as Letang saw his first game action since Dec. 28. It's been a traumatic season so far for the veteran blueliner, both on and off the ice, but Tuesday's performance was a reminder that the 35-year-old is still highly skilled and surrounded by Hall of Fame talent. Letang has four goals and 20 points through 30 games, but if he can stay in the lineup, he could be poised for a big second half.... See More ... See Less -
Penguins' Kris Letang: Removed from LTIR
Letang (lower body) was activated from long-term injured reserve Tuesday, per the NHL media site. Letang appears to be ready to return to the lineup Tuesday versus Florida. He was paired with Brian Dumoulin during the morning skate and should be back on the top power-play unit. Letang (lower body) is considered a game-time decision for Tuesday's matchup with Florida. Letang looks set to return to the lineup after practicing with the No. 1 power-play unit, but coach Mike Sullivan wouldn't go so far as to clear him to play against the Panthers. The veteran blueliner has missed the last 11 contests due to his lower-body issue, having last played Dec. 28 versus Detroit. Prior to getting hurt, Letang generated four points in his previous six contests and should offer a decent fantasy upside.... See More ... See Less -
