Stars' Jake Oettinger: Can't handle Lightning
Oettinger turned aside 19 of 23 shots in a 4-0 loss to Tampa Bay on Monday.
Oettinger has been mostly good this season, but there have been blemishes with this being the third time he's allowed at least four goals in a contest. To be fair, Dallas didn't give him any offensive support, making it wrong to pin the defeat solely on him. Oettinger still has a 10-5-2 record, 2.53 GAA and .915 save percentage in 17 appearances this year, so it would be best just to accept the loss and move on. For what it's worth, after surrendering six goals to Calgary on Nov. 24, he responded with a 27-save shutout versus the Jets in his very next start, so this one rough outing isn't necessarily a sign of bad things to come.

Stars' Jake Oettinger: Starting in Tampa Bay
Oettinger will guard the road net Monday against the Lightning, Mike Heika of the Stars' official site reports.
Oettinger has won his past two outings, including a 32-save performance in Saturday's 8-1 victory over Tampa Bay. In 16 games this season, he has registered a 10-4-2 record with a 2.43 GAA and a .920 save percentage. The Lightning sit 10th in the league with 3.32 goals per contest this campaign.

Stars' Radek Faksa: Finds helper Saturday
Faksa notched an assist and three shots on goal in Saturday's 8-1 win over the Lightning.
Faksa had been held scoreless with a minus-2 rating over the last seven contests. The 29-year-old snapped the drought by setting up linemate Sam Steel's goal in the third period. As a fourth-line center, Faksa's not expected to put up much offense, but three points over 18 outings is a bit light even for his defensive role. He's added 15 blocked shots, 15 shots on net and a minus-1 rating this season.

Stars' Ryan Suter: Ends dry spell
Suter logged an assist, three shots on goal and a plus-3 rating in Saturday's 8-1 win over the Lightning.
Suter ended his six-game point drought with a secondary helper on Thomas Harley's third-period tally. The 38-year-old Suter had just two assists over 14 games in November despite seeing top-pairing minutes throughout the month. He's at six helpers, 33 shots on net, 27 blocked shots and a plus-4 rating through 22 contests overall. With minimal power-play time, Suter's a non-factor in most fantasy formats.

Stars' Wyatt Johnston: Manages assist Saturday
Johnston logged an assist and three shots on goal in Saturday's 8-1 win over the Lightning.
Johnston's offense continues to come in bursts -- he's produced five multi-point efforts this year, but he's yet to get on the scoresheet more than two games in a row. He's also had just one drought of three contests. The 20-year-old center has picked up nine goals, eight assists, 53 shots on net, 14 blocked shots and a plus-2 rating over 22 appearances. A little more consistency would be helpful, but he remains on the Stars' third line with Jamie Benn, so high-quality scoring chances could be tough to find.

Stars' Miro Heiskanen: Helpers in consecutive contests
Heiskanen logged an assist, two shots on goal, a plus-2 rating and four PIM in Saturday's 8-1 win over the Lightning.
Heiskanen had been on his best behavior over the first quarter of the season -- his double-minor for high-sticking Saturday was his first penalty in 2023-24. The 24-year-old rarely adds much snarl, though his offense has also been down this year. The Finn has a goal, 13 assists, 43 shots on net, 39 blocked shots, 17 hits and a minus-3 rating through 22 appearances.

Stars' Jani Hakanpaa: Gets on scoresheet with two helpers
Hakanpaa notched a pair of assists, two hits, two PIM and a plus-3 rating in Saturday's 8-1 win over the Lightning.
Hakanpaa went 21 games without a point to open the season. He helped out on a Jamie Benn tally in the first period and then picked up another assist on Mason Marchment's goal in the second. Hakanpaa had a career-high 16 points last season, but Saturday's effort is unlikely to spark a significant run of offense for the heavy-hitting blueliner. He's managed just 13 shots on net to go with 27 PIM, 41 hits, 41 blocked shots and a plus-9 rating through 22 outings this season.

Stars' Esa Lindell: Two assists in Saturday's win
Lindell provided a pair of assists and went plus-3 in Saturday's 8-1 win over the Lightning.
Lindell snapped a five-game skid by helping out on tallies from Mason Marchment and Sam Steel. The 29-year-old Lindell has maintained a top-four role as primarily a defensive presence for a strong Stars team this season. He's up to eight points, 28 shots on net, 44 blocked shots, 18 hits and a plus-8 rating through 22 appearances. Lindell is unlikely to have a chance at power-play time with Miro Heiskanen, Thomas Harley and Nils Lundkvist seeing most of the man-advantage opportunities.

Stars' Roope Hintz: Produces two power-play assists
Hintz notched a pair of power-play assists, two shots on goal and a plus-2 rating in Saturday's 8-1 win over the Lightning.
Over his last nine games, Hintz has three goals and six helpers, with four of those points coming on the power play. He's stuck in a four-game goal drought, but he's doing enough playmaking to offset the lack of scoring. Hintz remains firmly in an all-situations role, which has seen him produce 20 points (six on the power play, two shorthanded), 52 shots on net and a plus-3 rating through 21 appearances.

Stars' Sam Steel: Adds insurance tally
Steel scored a goal and added two PIM in Saturday's 8-1 win over the Lightning.
Steel's two goals this season have come over the last six contests. The 25-year-old has played in seven straight games, and he's been scratched just once since the start of November. He has been solidifying his place on the fourth line. Unfortunately, he is not producing much offense with just three points and 23 shots on net through 17 outings. He also lacks enough of a physical edge to make a difference in most fantasy formats.

Stars' Tyler Seguin: Opens scoring in huge win
Seguin scored a goal on two shots and went plus-2 in Saturday's 8-1 win over the Lightning.
Seguin has gotten on the scoresheet in three straight contests, posting two goals and a helper since he went two games without a point. The 31-year-old's goal sparked a flood of offense from the Stars. Seguin is up to a strong eight tallies, nine helpers, 44 shots on net, 17 hits and a plus-7 rating through 22 appearances this season.

Stars' Thomas Harley: One of each in win
Harley scored a goal on three shots and added a power-play assist in Saturday's 8-1 win over the Lightning.
Harley got a chance on the second power-play unit with Nils Lundkvist scratched Saturday. If that development sticks in the long run, Harley's fantasy value could increase, especially if the Stars' power play also rises. The 22-year-old has a goal and an assist over his last two games, and he's up to five tallies, three assists, 26 shots on net and 33 blocked shots through 19 contests overall.

Stars' Mason Marchment: Picks up pair of points
Marchment scored a goal on four shots, added an assist and went plus-3 in Saturday's 8-1 win over the Lightning.
Marchment's on a heater, racking up four multi-point efforts over his last seven games. In that span, he has four goals and five assists. The 28-year-old winger continues to make the most of a second-line role this season. He's up to seven tallies, 15 points, 44 shots on net, 18 hits, 30 PIM and a plus-9 rating over 22 appearances. Marchment had just 31 points in 68 outings last season, but he's currently on pace to challenge his career high of 47 points from the year before.

Stars' Jamie Benn: Pair of points in blowout win
Benn scored a goal, dished a power-play assist and added two PIM in Saturday's 8-1 win over the Lightning.
Benn tallied the Stars' third goal and later helped out on Jason Robertson's second marker of the game. After racking up nine points over 14 contests in November, Benn is off to a solid start in December. The 34-year-old winger has returned solid value with five goals, 12 helpers, 35 shots on net, 19 hits, 18 blocked shots, 17 PIM and a plus-4 rating through 22 contests. His well-rounded play and ice time in all situations helps to offset his third-line even-strength role.

Stars' Joe Pavelski: Three points against Bolts
Pavelski scored a power-play goal and added two even-strength assists in Saturday's 8-1 rout of the Lightning.
He had a point in each period, lighting the lamp in the second frame to give the Stars a 5-1 lead. Pavelski has now found the scoresheet in nine straight games, a stretch in which the 39-year-old has six goals and 12 points, and he continues to thrive on the power play -- five of his 11 tallies on the season have come with the man advantage.

Stars' Jason Robertson: Lights lamp twice in rout
Robertson scored two goals, one on the power play and the other the eventual game-winner, in Saturday's 8-1 win over the Lightning.
He struck for the Stars' second goal of the afternoon early in the first period, then added the team's sixth midway through the second as Dallas kept their foot on the gas. Robertson extended his point streak to five games with the performance, and on the season the 24-year-old is up to eight goals and 22 points through 22 contests.

Stars' Jake Oettinger: Cruises to win No. 10
Oettinger made 32 saves in Saturday's 8-1 rout of the Lightning.
Dallas jumped out to a 3-0 lead before eight minutes had elapsed in the first period. Oettinger still came up with some impressive stops, but the outcome was never in doubt. The 24-year-old netminder improved his record to 10-4-2 in 16 starts with a 2.43 GAA and .920 save percentage. He has been seeing a heavy workload by being in the crease for roughly three out of every four games for the Stars.
