Rangers' Matt Rempe: Rare contribution on offense
Rempe registered an assist and two hits in Saturday's 2-1 win over the Golden Knights.
The helper was Rempe's first point in seven NHL outings this season to go with 18 hits and 24 PIM. He took the puck and earned the secondary helper on an Adam Edstrom tally in the third period. Rempe could be a regular in the lineup if he can avoid doing anything suspension-worthy, as Chris Kreider (upper body) and Filip Chytil (upper body) are both unavailable. Still, Rempe's style of play isn't conducive to helping in most fantasy formats.

Rangers' Jonny Brodzinski: Puts up helper Saturday
Brodzinski logged an assist and two shots on goal in Saturday's 2-1 win over the Golden Knights.
Brodzinski set up Adam Edstrom for the game-winning goal at 5:57 of the third period. Brodzinski has two points over four consecutive games in the lineup. He may stick for a while because Chris Kreider (upper body) and Filip Chytil (upper body are unavailable. For the season, Brodzinski has supplied six points, 25 shots on net and a plus-4 rating over 20 appearances in a bottom-six role.

Rangers' Mika Zibanejad: Point streak at six games
Zibanejad registered a power-play assist and three shots on net in Saturday's 2-1 win over the Golden Knights.
Zibanejad had a shot attempt that was well off the mark, but it hit Vincent Trocheck in the abdomen, and Trocheck was able to bury it before hunching over in pain. That's a hard way to earn a goal, but the assist extended Zibanejad's point streak to six games (two goals, four helpers). It's a positive sign after the 31-year-old center was ice-cold throughout the second half of December. He's at 27 points (10 on the power play), 97 shots on net, 27 blocked shots and a minus-21 rating through 42 outings this season. It's been a down year, but he's beginning to trend in the right direction.

Rangers' Artemi Panarin: Supplies power-play assist
Panarin notched a power-play assist in Saturday's 2-1 win over the Golden Knights.
Panarin now has a goal and five assists during a four-game point streak after earning the secondary helper on Vincent Trocheck's tally. The 33-year-old Panarin has a total of 45 points (15 on the power play) with 120 shots on net and a minus-7 rating over 40 appearances this season. He hasn't been immune from the Rangers' many struggles in 2024-25, but he's also been one of the team's most consistent forwards despite being well behind the pace he showed in a 120-point 2023-24 regular season.

Rangers' Adam Edstrom: Nets game-winner Saturday
Edstrom scored a goal in Saturday's 2-1 win over the Golden Knights.
Edstrom's first tally since Nov. 27 -- a span of 20 contests -- was the game-winner Saturday. It's a rare fourth-line contribution for the Rangers, who have had to dip into their organizational depth amid some injuries to other forwards. Edstrom has been a regular in 2024-25 with six points, 33 shots on net, 76 hits, 23 PIM and a minus-8 rating over 42 appearances while averaging 9:05 of ice time per game.

Rangers' Vincent Trocheck: Gutsy for game-tying goal
Trocheck scored a power-play goal on five shots, blocked two shots and added two PIM in Saturday's 2-1 win over the Golden Knights.
Trocheck was hit in the abdomen by a Mika Zibanejad shot, but he collected it and backhanded the puck in past Ilya Samsonov for the game-tying goal. The 31-year-old Trocheck went to the locker room briefly but didn't miss a shift. He plays a net-front role on the power play, and getting hit with a puck is sometimes the price that must be paid for being in that area. Trocheck has four goals and two assists during a four-game point streak, giving him 14 tallies, 29 points (10 on the power play), 112 shots on net, 130 hits, 43 blocked shots, 34 PIM and a minus-4 rating over 42 appearances this season.

Rangers' Igor Shesterkin: Wins over Vegas
Shesterkin stopped 29 of 30 shots in Saturday's 2-1 win over the Golden Knights.
A little time off seems to have served Shesterkin well, as he's won his first two starts since returning from a four-game absence due to an upper-body injury. He was able to limit the damage to a Mark Stone power-play goal in this contest, and the Rangers gave him just enough support to win. Shesterkin is up to 13-15-1 with a 2.98 GAA and a .908 save percentage through 29 appearances. They've got another tough matchup set for Tuesday in Colorado.

Rangers' Filip Chytil: Out Saturday
Chytil (upper body) won't return Saturday versus Vegas, Mollie Walker of the New York Post reports.
Chytil will miss his second straight game. He has 10 goals and 17 points in 33 appearances in 2024-25. Once healthy, Chytil could occupy a third-line role and see time on the second power-play unit.

Rangers' Igor Shesterkin: Slated starter Saturday
Shesterkin is expected to start on the road against Vegas on Saturday, according to Mollie Walker of the New York Post.
Shesterkin has a 12-15-1 record, 3.06 GAA and .906 save percentage in 28 outings in 2024-25. He stopped 21 of 23 shots en route to a 3-2 overtime win over the Devils on Thursday. Vegas ranks fourth in goals per game with 3.46.

Rangers' Filip Chytil: Questionable for Saturday
Chytil (upper body) is questionable to play Saturday versus the Golden Knights, Mollie Walker of the New York Post reports.
The Rangers swapped out Brett Berard for Benoit-Olivier Groulx to reinforce the team's center depth in case of Chytil missing time. Chytil was hurt Tuesday versus the Stars and missed Thursday's contest against the Devils due to the injury.

Rangers' Benoit-Olivier Groulx: Brought up from Hartford
Groulx was recalled from AHL Hartford on Friday.
Brett Berard was sent down in a corresponding move. Groulx has been excellent for Hartford this year with 11 goals and 18 assists over 32 contests. He provides the Rangers with extra center depth since Filip Chytil (upper body) is questionable for Saturday's game in Vegas, which begins a three-game road trip.

Rangers' Brett Berard: Sent down to AHL Hartford
Berard was reassigned to AHL Hartford on Friday.
Berard has seven points through 19 outings while filling a bottom-six role at the NHL level. It's unclear if this is a paper move or a more permanent change for the Rangers to allow the 22-year-old some development work. Benoit-Olivier Groulx was recalled in a corresponding move.

Rangers' Sam Carrick: Unlikely hero in overtime
Carrick scored the game-winning goal, fired three shots on net and added two hits in Thursday's 3-2 overtime win over the Devils.
Carrick typically sees fourth-line minutes, but he had 15:01 of ice time Thursday, his second-highest total in a game this season. The center has three points over his last six outings, though it's unlikely he'll be able to sustain much offense over a long stretch. Overall, he has three goals -- including the first two game-winners of his career -- while adding six assists, 38 shots on net, 32 PIM and 72 hits through 41 appearances in 2024-25.

Rangers' Artemi Panarin: Ties game on power play
Panarin scored a power-play goal on four shots in Thursday's 3-2 win over the Devils.
Panarin's tally tied the game at 2-2 in the second period. The 33-year-old winger has five points over his last three games, and with the Rangers scoring 13 times in that span, the team's offense as a whole may be coming around. Panarin is up to 17 goals, 44 points (14 on the power play), 119 shots on net and a minus-7 rating through 39 appearances in his usual top-six role.

Rangers' Adam Fox: Two PP points in Thursday's OT win
Fox scored a goal and added an assist, both on the power play, in Thursday's 3-2 overtime win over the Devils.
He opened the scoring midway through the first period with a blast from the point that deflected off the stick of Nico Hischier and got past Jacob Markstrom. That snapped a 12-game goal drought for Fox, who has found the back of the net only twice in 41 appearances this season, a massive drop-off from the career-high 17 tallies he produced in 2023-24. The 26-year-old blueliner has remained productive, however, dishing 31 helpers, and his puck luck could be turning around.

Rangers' Igor Shesterkin: Looks sharp in return
Shesterkin made 21 saves in Thursday's 3-2 overtime win over the Devils.
Making his return from a four-game absence due to an upper-body injury, Shesterkin made a number of big stops, none bigger than on Dawson Mercer's shorthanded breakaway midway through the third period to keep the game tied at 2-2. The 29-year-old netminder has had trouble building any momentum this season -- his longest win streak is only three games -- but Shesterkin is more than capable of flipping the switch and putting together a dominant second half if he stays healthy and gets consistent help from his defense.
