Rangers' Jonny Brodzinski: Two more assists Sunday
Brodzinski logged a pair of assists in Sunday's 6-5 win over San Jose.
Brodzinski picked up his first assist on Mika Zibanejad's tally in the first period before setting up Artemi Panarin for a hat trick in the third. The 30-year-old Brodzinski now has four assists in his last two games. While it's unlikely he can keep up his current scoring pace (he hasn't had more than two assists in a season prior to this year), Brodzinski has had an opportunity to skate with Zibanejad and Chris Kreider on New York's top line at even strength with Kaapo Kakko (lower body) sidelined. Cuylle scored a goal on two shots in a 6-5 win over the Sharks on Sunday.

Zibanejad picked up the primary assist on Artemi Panarin's power-play tally in the first period before putting the Rangers ahead 3-2 with a goal later in the frame. The two-point effort extended Zibanejad's point streak to seven games -- he's tallied four goals and five assists in that span. Panarin tied the game 1-1 with a power-play marker in the first period before adding two more goals for the hat trick while recording a season-high four points in the Rangers' win. Quick will be stationed between the pipes for Sunday's home game against the Sharks, Vince Z. Mercogliano of USA Today reports.
Quick will make his first appearance since Nov. 25 after Igor Shesterkin started the Rangers' last three games. Quick is riding a four-game winning streak; during that span, he's posted a 2.48 GAA and a .916 save percentage. Blidh dressed in 14 games with Colorado last year but has not seen any NHL action yet this season. The 28-year-old has four goals and seven points in 18 games with AHL Hartford. The Rangers called up Brodzinski from AHL Hartford last Tuesday as a replacement for Kaapo Kakko, who is on long-term injured reserve with a lower-body injury. Shesterkin stopped 25 of 27 shots in Wednesday's 3-2 win over the Red Wings.
Detroit scored two goals within 30 seconds midway through the second period, but Shesterkin would hold them there as the Rangers rallied for a 3-2 win. It was a solid bounce-back effort after Shesterkin allowed four goals in a loss to Buffalo in his previous start.
