  • Kraken's Eeli Tolvanen: Adds power-play helper Friday

Tolvanen logged a power-play assist and seven hits in Friday's 3-2 loss to the Devils.

Tolvanen has four points and 21 hits over his last six outings. He set up a Shane Wright tally in the second period of Friday's game. Tolvanen is up to 10 points, 42 shots on net, 68 hits, 18 blocked shots and a minus-1 rating over 28 appearances. He's in a third-line role with power-play time, and his physical play could earn him some looks in deeper formats.

  • Kraken's Andre Burakovsky: Scores in return to lineup

Burakovsky scored a goal in Friday's 3-2 loss to the Devils.

Burakovsky didn't step on the ice in Seattle's previous two games, but he found twine in his return to a top-six role. The 29-year-old has scored just two goals, 10 points and 34 shots in 26 appearances this season. He did record an impressive 74 goals and 189 points across 240 regular-season outings from 2019-20 through 2022-23, which amounts to an average of roughly 65 points per 82 games, but he had just 16 points in 49 outings in 2023-24 and doesn't seem to be rekindling his old offensive prowess this campaign.

  • Kraken's Shane Wright: Scores in loss to New Jersey

Wright scored a power-play goal in Friday's 3-2 loss to the Devils.

Wright has found the back of the net on the power play with each of his last four goals, and those have come in a four-game span, so there's no question the 20-year-old is making a strong case for a more prominent role. Since being scratched for three straight games from Nov. 17-23, Wright has turned things around with five goals and seven points across seven appearances.

  • Kraken's Philipp Grubauer: Woeful season continues Friday

Grubauer stopped 33 of 36 shots in Friday's 3-2 loss to the Devils.

Grubauer has made nine starts this season, but the results haven't been encouraging for the 33-year-old German netminder. He has dropped his last six starts over a stretch from Oct. 22-Dec. 6, posting a 3.81 GAA and a disappointing .867 save percentage amid that losing skid. On the season, the 13-year veteran has gone 1-8-0 with a 3.56 GAA and an .870 save percentage.

  • Kraken's Ryker Evans: Set to return

Evans (hand) will be in the lineup Friday versus the Devils, per Sound of Hockey.

Evans missed two games with the injury. The 22-year-old defenseman was rolling prior to the issue, racking up five helpers over his previous four games. Evans will play on the third pairing and should also see time on the second power-play unit, while Josh Mahura will sit as a healthy scratch.

  • Kraken's Yanni Gourde: Not playing after all

Gourde (undisclosed) won't be in the lineup Friday versus the Devils, per Sound of Hockey.

Gourde was removed for precautionary reasons in the third period of Thursday's game versus the Islanders. He's dealing with some bumps and bruises, and the issue will cost him at least one game. Andre Burakovsky will return from being a healthy scratch and take Gourde's spot on a line with Matty Beniers and Jaden Schwartz.

  • Kraken's Philipp Grubauer: Starting against Devils

Grubauer will start on the road versus the Devils, per Sound of Hockey.

Grubauer has lost five straight starts, allowing 19 goals on 130 shots (.854 save percentage) over that stretch. The 33-year-old netminder will handle the second half of a back-to-back, but the Devils are a tough opponent. They have averaged 3.54 goals per game this season.

  • Kraken's Yanni Gourde: Set to play against New Jersey

Gourde (undisclosed) is expected to suit up for Friday's game against the Devils.

Gourde was held out for the final 17:50 of the third period Thursday against the Islanders for precautionary reasons, which the Kraken are now describing as "bumps and bruises." However, he should be back in action for the second half of the back-to-back set. The 32-year-old has recorded points in seven of his last 12 appearances, racking up four goals, five assists, 14 hits and six blocked shots while averaging 16:09 of ice time across that span.

  • Kraken's Brandon Tanev: Garners helper in 500th career game

Tanev notched an assist and five hits in Thursday's 5-2 win over the Islanders.

Tanev set up Jaden Schwartz on an empty-netter. This was Tanev's 500th career game, and he now has 170 points (80 goals, 90 assists) at the NHL level. The physical winger has earned a point in four of the last five games and is up to 12 points, 47 shots on net, 55 hits, 40 blocked shots and a minus-6 rating over 27 appearances this season, and his strong play of late has earned him a look in a top-six role.

  • Kraken's Matty Beniers: Puts up assist in win

Beniers notched an assist in Thursday's 5-2 win over the Islanders.

Beniers helped out on a Vince Dunn tally in the second period. With four helpers across his last three games, it appears Beniers has found some success during the Kraken's latest round of lineup shuffles -- he's now playing alongside Jaden Schwartz and Yanni Gourde. Beniers is at 14 points, 51 shots on net, 20 blocked shots and a plus-8 rating through 27 contests, and he remains firmly in a top-six role.

  • Kraken's Chandler Stephenson: Draws power-play helper

Stephenson managed a power-play assist in Thursday's 5-2 win over the Islanders.

Stephenson helped out on Oliver Bjorkstrand's tally in the first period. The 30-year-old Stephenson has gotten on the scoresheet in three of his last seven outings, accumulating a goal and six helpers (three on the power play) in that span. For the season, the center is up to 17 points (nine on the power play), 24 shots on net and a minus-8 rating over 26 appearances. Stephenson's extreme pass-first tendencies hurt his fantasy value a bit, but he could have a career year with the man advantage anyway.

  • Kraken's Brandon Montour: Earns power-play assist

Montour notched a power-play assist, four PIM and a minus-2 rating in Thursday's 5-2 win over the Islanders.

Montour has a helper in three straight contests, but this was his first power-play point since Oct. 29. The defenseman has three goals and four assists over his last eight outings. For the season, he continues to offer strong offense with 18 points (four on the power play) while adding 87 shots on net, 38 hits, 29 blocked shots, 22 PIM and a plus-5 rating across 26 appearances.

Larsson had gone 21 contests without a point entering Thursday. He had 27 hits, 41 blocked shots, 35 shots on net and a plus-3 rating in that span, serving as an effective defensive presence despite the lack of offense. For the season, he's at five points, 43 shots, 59 blocks, 37 hits, 17 PIM and a plus-6 rating over 27 appearances in a top-pairing role.

  • Kraken's Tye Kartye: Opens scoring Thursday

Kartye scored a goal on two shots, doled out five hits and blocked two shots in Thursday's 5-2 win over the Islanders.

Kartye redirected a Vince Dunn shot to score the Kraken's first goal of the contest. The tally snapped an eight-game point drought for Kartye, who is holding onto a fourth-line role. The 23-year-old forward has some pressure for his spot in the lineup since the Kraken have scratched Andre Burakovsky and Daniel Sprong over the last two games. Kartye is at five points, 29 shots on net, 87 hits and a minus-2 rating through 26 appearances.

Wright scored a power-play goal on two shots in Thursday's 5-2 win over the Islanders.

Wright has accumulated four goals and two assists over six contests since he spent three games as a healthy scratch. The 20-year-old has filled a third-line role over that warm stretch, but he's also on the second power-play unit. Bjorkstrand scored a power-play goal on two shots in Thursday's 5-2 win over the Islanders.

Bjorkstrand's point streak is up to seven games (three goals, five assists) after he tallied in the first period. The 29-year-old winger has gotten on the scoresheet in 10 of 13 contests since he was a healthy scratch Nov. 5 versus the Avalanche. He's up to a total of seven goals, 16 points, 59 shots on net, 21 hits and a plus-3 rating over 26 appearances. Bjorkstrand is still filling a middle-six role at even strength, but he's productive enough currently to be worth a look in fantasy.
